I personally think debit card is better than credit card. Curb spending. It's good for students too because they can control their spendings this way.

I have seen many people going bancrupt from not being able to pay for their credit card debts...and I am really sad to know that there are still many people who doesn't know how to plan their financial future.

As for me, I am using KTAR debit card, and I like it =)

Not sure any1 mentoned, but heard from close source our Gov wants to charge RM50 to debit card as well which is MADNESS!!!!!!!!! But its not final as all commercial banks will be meetin BNM to clarify further.

Closing a Public Bank house savings account will attract a one time charge of RM10. Besides, only the Public Bank house savings account can be issued with PBB Day2Day VISA debit card. For the basic savings/current account, only the old regular MEPS ATM card can be issued.

Probably because they have ran out of Basic Savings Account passbook when you opened your Basic Savings Account then. So they just gave you the PLUS Savings Account passbook.

I closed my Maybank Kawanku Savings Account more than a month ago. I was already using the Maybank Cherry VISA debit card then. As far as i remember, there is an option there to view the transactions of your debit card, provided you have bought something using your VISA debit card/debit Mastercard. You'll see the option when you click the account your debit card is linked to.

Don't mean to scare you all but just be careful. This happened in Australia involving Commonwealth Bank debit Mastercard.

Oh, so you do have more than one Maybank accounts eh ? Supposedly all your accounts will be linked to your ATM/debit Mastercard unless one of your accounts is not a Premier account as non-Premier account can't be linked to the Maybank Cherry debit Mastercard.

i'm not sure if other insurance company and banks can or not.i'm paying ING insurance monthly using auto debit.and i'm using PB ING debit card.

How can I tell whether the ATM can dispense 3,000 or not?

If I am not mistaken, if the ATM cannot dispense 3k, and  I decided to cancel the transaction, I will be charged USD 5 (by BoA) also rite?

I have to start looking at getting $ from ATM, as paypal now do not allow, adding funds from US bank account to Paypal (registered in MY)

Yea, I am afraid that I will be charged for canceling the transaction, as I know, doing a balance inquiry also incur charges

My debit card can be use at ATM and CDT one or two months ago...both also can login. Now i try at ATM and CDT at my town, both display as invalid card...then i go to try public bank ATM and CDT at other town (20KM away ), ATM can be use and withdraw but CDT display invalid card. Wondering what happening as i only use the card for 6 months and i usually put the card inside plastic card case, only use less than 10 times since i apply and get it. Maybe next time i need to direct withdraw through bank counter at my town
