I personally think debit card is better than credit card. Curb spending. It's good for students too because they can control their spendings this way.

I have seen many people going bancrupt from not being able to pay for their credit card debts...and I am really sad to know that there are still many people who doesn't know how to plan their financial future.

As for me, I am using KTAR debit card, and I like it =)
*
for students, yes
for working adults, most probably no

if you do know how to plan, credit card is always better than dc

Closing a Public Bank house savings account will attract a one time charge of RM10. Besides, only the Public Bank house savings account can be issued with PBB Day2Day VISA debit card. For the basic savings/current account, only the old regular MEPS ATM card can be issued.
ic, din notice that
but i left mine with RM1 balance

But mine one is yellow colour, written as saving account. Is that any different with the red colour that you mention?
*
i'm not sure about the colour
both my basic and plus savings account use the same passbook - the cover printed PLUS Savings Account

but if you look inside, beside the account number, 1 printed "Basic Savings Account" and the other one printed "Plus Savings Account"

Probably because they have ran out of Basic Savings Account passbook when you opened your Basic Savings Account then. So they just gave you the PLUS Savings Account passbook.

Anyway, have decided to scan my Basic Savings Account passbook and post it up here.

hehe, i thought so too

currently when i click under M2U > Utilities > Maybankard Secure Online Shopping Registration, the following came out:
"You are not Visa Debit Card User."
Of course I'm not, I'm having a MasterCard Debit sweat.gif

Btw, my Premier Mudharabah account disappear from M2U
tomolo will go to the branch to link both the CA account and the debit card to M2U

Miles, can you see your debit card just like the credit card in M2U?

Opps. Sorry. I thought i read it on the press release that it can be used online too but looks like it can't. My bad for giving you a misleading answer.
I closed my Maybank Kawanku Savings Account more than a month ago. I was already using the Maybank Cherry VISA debit card then. As far as i remember, there is an option there to view the transactions of your debit card, provided you have bought something using your VISA debit card/debit Mastercard. You'll see the option when you click the account your debit card is linked to.
*
ok, first i need the account which my debit card is linked to show up in M2U
so i'll find out the rest tomolo

Oh, so you do have more than one Maybank accounts eh ? Supposedly all your accounts will be linked to your ATM/debit Mastercard unless one of your accounts is not a Premier account as non-Premier account can't be linked to the Maybank Cherry debit Mastercard.
yea, i hv 3 individual acc and 1 joint ac with mbb
and you're rite, they can only link the premier acc to the MasterCard Debit Plat, the other 3 acc still link to my original bankard

UPDATE:
======

Now I hv TWO M2U accounts
one is using the Master Debit and only has the premier account in it
the other one is the original using the Bankard and has the other 3 accounts in it

sigh, now to transfer money from one M2U to another is considered 3rd party shakehead.gif

Thanks GHz.

How can I tell whether the ATM can dispense 3,000 or not?

If I am not mistaken, if the ATM cannot dispense 3k, and  I decided to cancel the transaction, I will be charged USD 5 (by BoA) also rite? sad.gif

I have to start looking at getting $ from ATM, as paypal now do not allow, adding funds from US bank account to Paypal (registered in MY)

cool, thanks alot!

but i think not all banks label their machines

and one more thing, I think you can always try to key in RM3000 as the amount and the ATM should prompt you whether that amount is acceptable or not. I remembered I once keyed in RM2000 and the MBB ATM prompted something like "Max withdrawal amount is RM1500"

*

My debit card can be use at ATM and CDT one or two months ago...both also can login. Now i try at ATM and CDT at my town, both display as invalid card...then i go to try public bank ATM and CDT at other town (20KM away sweat.gif ), ATM can be use and withdraw but CDT display invalid card. Wondering what happening as i only use the card for 6 months and i usually put the card inside plastic card case, only use less than 10 times since i apply and get it. Maybe next time i need to direct withdraw through bank counter at my town rclxub.gif
