MilesAndMore,

I saw this in PBB's web and it says the annual fee for D2D card is RM8.

http://www.pbebank.com/en/en_content/perso...ates/cards.html

So it is 8 or 12?

This is a very good news. I think it's the best debit card to have actually. smile.gif

$5k is not enough for any big expenditure. RHB you suck.

Switch to Public Bank then.

QUOTE(frega @ Aug 3 2010, 09:32 PM)
Is this only RHB? cos RHB doesnt always work for online payment.

Public Bank debit cards all work nicely for online payment. So does Maybank VISA debit card.

QUOTE(frega @ Aug 3 2010, 09:32 PM)
Also:
Does anyone know the spending limit for PBB Visa Electron? I cant find the information anywhere,

Except the Day2Day VISA debit card, all range of Public Bank debit cards come with unlimited spending limit. You can use up all the money you have inside your card (except the VISA Electron which you must keep at least RM25 inside your card all the time) thumbup.gif

QUOTE(frega @ Aug 3 2010, 09:32 PM)
Day2Day you can set up to 10k as stated on their brochures.

True indeed. You may also disable the VISA debit function by setting it to RM0.

QUOTE(frega @ Aug 3 2010, 09:32 PM)
Been on hold with PBB card center for 10 mins waiting for someone to pick up >.<
Guess i've always been lucky. My calls are always attended by someone in just a few minutes.

I am so switching tomorrow after I empty out my acct at RHB, and give them a scolding.

One thing good about RHB is prolly the call center haha. I can get them instantly anytime.

Their debit card annual fee is crazy. Public Bank has finally come to some senses that they decided to slashed the annual fee for their VISA debit card from RM12 to RM8. When EON Bank first introduced their combi debit MasterCard back in 2006, the annual fee was RM20 too but the response wasn't great and they finally decided to cut the annual fee to RM8. RHB Bank is the only one to cut their debit card annual fee from RM20 to RM15 and then increased it back to RM20 again. Way to go RHB Bank doh.gif

Is the Day2Day card given for any acct you set up at PBB? cos I already have a Visa electron.

EDIT: okay I just checked rhb's website, which is partially broken (had to do view source to look for the info).

"<li>Set your own purchase limit up to available balance in account </li>"

what. the people at the bank said limit is 5k. wtf.

Yes. The Day2Day VISA debit card is linked directly to any of your Public Bank accounts.

Don't think it is safe to set the maximum limit to up to available balance in account though. Imagine if this is your primary account and you have a lot of money in it. It simply is too risky.

Guyz I recently try to use my Maybank Debit Card to get an account on this site http://www.myfax.com , for online faxes.

They said they accept visa.

SO i did the MSOB and tried again , it didnt work.

Does the maybank debit card work on every site?

Thanks

Your card cannot go through because Malaysia is not supported for their services. When you entered your card details, they can detect which country is the card issued from.

You might also want to take note that many online retailers in USA such as Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and DSquared accept only credit card from certain countries where they do ship the things they sale.

Thanks "CHASE" you practically answered all the questions brought forward.

On the Day2Day card design: I wasnt in the development team for that stage.

Customer Service Issue: We do have peak periods, currently we are hiring more Officers to cater for the debit card boom. It will surely be sorted soon. Alternatively, kindly feel free to comment more.

For normal ATM card, we are charged RM1 if withdraw from other bank ATM. But with debit card, if we withdraw money from other bank, will this considered as cash advance thru PLUS or Cirrus network?

Shinichi: No, its a debit card not a credit card. Cash advance is not applicable. Its a cash withdrawal. Its Rm1 per transaction

Actually, would you as a customer rather have "welcome gifts, redemption gifts, etc gifts" or "hard cold cash'

as in like reward for using the card?

unless you stock enough quality redemption gifts (e.g. jusco card redemption or equivalent), cash back would be just easier. less work for you too.

Debit card is a good solution to avoid RM50 credit card tax.
It can earn rebate/reward point as credit card does. The only difference is the CREDIT (= future money ) LOLz.

Can you please share with us what those better rewards are?
To my knowledge , most credit card reward points are worth RM1 for 200 pts.
