Yes. They do. It is a standalone card and can't be linked to any of your CIMB Bank savings or current account. There is a charge every time you want to withdraw the money inside the card. However, if you withdraw the money from any GIANT cashier counter, it will be free of charge. Minimum withdrawal amount is RM50 up to a maximum of RM500. And yes, it will take 1 - 3 weeks until you get the card in the mail. This product is called e.MasterCard, by the way.

sounds more like a prepaid card instead of debit, does that means need to reload amount into the card then only can withdraw $$$ from the card?

As long as there is money inside, you can make a withdrawal anytime you want.

Money inside the card, not savings account.

Hello guys. First time using a debit card.

I have just received my cimb e.mastercard.

Just curious on how do I buy item from overseas companies?

There is this Paypal. Then the debit card came with a cimb secure payment software brochure. rclxub.gif

I am just curious if there any simpler way to make payment rather than applying into few unnecessary accounts such as Paypals etc.

This I quoted from the website:
Yes. Our site is approved by Verisign and any sensitive data is encrypted so that nobody can read it.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Maestro cards.

Can anybody help advise me? rclxub.gif

The CIMB Bank e.MasterCard SecureCode which you will have to enroll via www.cimbbank.com.my is to protect your card from unauthorized online purchases. Just go to www.cimbbank.com.my and enroll for secure e-pay. It is a very easy process. Just follow the screen instructions and you'll complete the whole thing in no time.

By the way, one thing you should take note is that not all websites require you to key in the SecureCode password you created on www.cimbbank.com.my such as Amazon.com.

You do not have to apply for Paypal if you have no use for it.

All the debit cards in the market can be used at all petrol stations. You Public Bank debit card (either VISA debit card/VISA Electron/debit MasterCard) is accepted at all petrol stations.

Not true. The Public Bank VISA Electron can be used at petrol station way back in 2006.

Because you need to have at least RM201 inside your bank account when you swipe the card at the petrol kiosk. If you pump the petrol first and then pay later inside, you will only be billed the exact amount pumped.

If you're from Public Bank, which i kind of hope you are by the way. I really hope you'll convince those people at Public Bank to redesign their Day2Day VISA debit card. The card's design is a joke to anyone past puberty. And Public Bank should also lower the annual fee from RM12 to just RM8. There are many banks that charge only RM8 for their debit card such as EON Bank, Standard Chartered and UOB Bank.

And if you're from RHB, ask them to reduce the annual charge for the Debit Card. Plus, be more as efficient as Maybank, balance can be seen deducted from account once the transaction has been completed, not like it will only be hold and deducted after two days.

MilesAndMore,

I saw this in PBB's web and it says the annual fee for D2D card is RM8.

http://www.pbebank.com/en/en_content/perso...ates/cards.html

So it is 8 or 12?

Apparently it has recently been revised to RM8. Last month i checked in their website it was still RM12. This is great ! I guess they are really serious about getting all their account holders to convert into this Day2Day VISA debit card thumbup.gif

Option to increase spending limit for special occasions for debit cards (as in call card center temporary increase limit for the day).

$5k is not enough for any big expenditure. RHB you suck.

Is this only RHB? cos RHB doesnt always work for online payment.

Also:
Does anyone know the spending limit for PBB Visa Electron? I cant find the information anywhere, Day2Day you can set up to 10k as stated on their brochures. Been on hold with PBB card center for 10 mins waiting for someone to pick up >.<
