Maybe we should make a poll on which is the best debit card? easier for everyone to do a comparison? Anyone knows how to make a poll to link here? Maybe a second poll on what are the priorities that would make the perfect debit card.

QUOTE(howszat @ Jul 15 2010, 07:30 PM) How long does RHB take to process a Debit Card application? Anyone applied for one recently? For the Cash-Connect debit MasterCard or Cash-Connect VISA debit card, the card will be issued to you right away after you open either a savings or current account with them. |

The Maybank VISA debit card definitely can be verified by Paypal and used to withdraw your Paypal funds. Not too sure about the MasterCard Platinum debit though. |

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Jul 16 2010, 12:09 PM) miles, withdrawal to debit/credit card will be charge RM20, rite? Yes. It's RM20. But since we can also make the transfer right into out bank account, it's better to do so as the charge is so much lower at only RM3 (free if the total fund transferred to your Malaysian bank account is at least RM400). |

QUOTE(static @ Jul 10 2010, 01:10 PM) I received a Debit Card from RHB out of the sudden today, anybody experiencing this? Damn, how much are they gonna charge me for it??? Apparently the regular RHB Bank ATM card is still very much alive. The card conversion to their VISA debit card/debit MasterCard is optional. See the official announcement from RHB Bank below :Okay, I called the bank, and it will not be using my normal ATM anymore. Sigh. |

QUOTE(howszat @ Jul 16 2010, 07:01 PM) That's exactly what I want to do - convert to Debit card - why didn't they invite me? You can go into their branch and request for a card conversion. |

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Jul 11 2010, 09:02 PM) my sister in law recently opened a islamic savings account with MBB and got herself a debit card - the staff insisted that she'll need to pay RM8 annual fees even though she clearly ask for the non fee ATM option. The staff even said each debit transaction will be counted as a withdrawal - what a nonsense. Even so, if the customer are willing to pay RM0.50 for each extra transaction above the 4 free withdrawals, they should just grant the no annual fee option. i wrote to BNM to complain and she got her RM8 back after a few days, plus a letter from that particular MBB branch apologizing for the so call "misunderstanding" you'll need to stand your ground, if you know you are correct I went to MBB to renew my ATM card last week. The officer gave me a MBB visa debit card. He said that this debit card will charge me RM8 annually and didn't tell me that there is another option. Actually I only put some money in this acc for Maybank2u and never for withdrawal. Then it means that i can change my debit card option to the 4 free withdrawals in each month and no annual fee option? Can i change the option in any MBB branch? Hi all,
I am currently a holder of Maybank's Basic Savings Account. I wish to use the Maybank Visa Debit (Cherry card). Are these the steps to apply for one: 1/ Close the Basic Savings Account and reopen it as a Kawanku Savings Account (What is the difference between these two)? 2/ Surrender my current ATM card to change to a Visa Debit Card? 3/ Will there be any conversion charges imposed? My understanding is that RM8 is the annual fee if require more than 4 withdrawals per month, and an additional RM12 for ATM card to Debit Card conversion. 4/ Do I need to do all these at the branch which I opened my account? As for the new Cherry Card, does it: 1/ Act exactly like an ATM card? 2/ Understood there's only 4 withdrawals per month. Is every online transaction/card swipe considered as a withdrawal? 3/ Be embossed with the cardholder's name? (Average wait time? Or is this option not available?) 4/ No top-up required and charge directly to the savings account? Thanks! |
