QUOTE(static @ Jul 11 2010, 02:51 PM) YES! I got so pissed. But one thing good is, i don't have to get debit card lor. But RM20, too much. They didn't mention anything, just send the card over. I wondered what are they going to do with their Basic Savings Account since this comes with the option that you do not have to pay for the ATM card. |

AFAIK, all banks are required by BNM to provide basic savings account with ATM without any fee
for rhb, it's here you'll just need to insist on that option no matter what the staff told you, ask to see the manager if the staff refuse to grant that option my sister in law recently opened a islamic savings account with MBB and got herself a debit card - the staff insisted that she'll need to pay RM8 annual fees even though she clearly ask for the non fee ATM option. The staff even said each debit transaction will be counted as a withdrawal - what a nonsense. Even so, if the customer are willing to pay RM0.50 for each extra transaction above the 4 free withdrawals, they should just grant the no annual fee option. i wrote to BNM to complain and she got her RM8 back after a few days, plus a letter from that particular MBB branch apologizing for the so call "misunderstanding" you'll need to stand your ground, if you know you are correct This post has been edited by alexwsk: Jul 11 2010, 09:07 PM |

Only Maybank offer true free for life VISA debit/Mastercard debit. As for Public Bank VISA Electron and Public Bank ING Mastercard, you need to spend more than RM1200 and the annual fee will be automatically waived. All other debit cards offered by other banks have an annual fee ranging between RM8 - RM20. The most expensive one is Affin Bank debit Mastercard at RM20/pa.
Whats the different btw Maybank Visa debit and mastercard debit? QUOTE(ssiapf @ Jul 12 2010, 01:47 PM) Only Maybank offer true free for life VISA debit/Mastercard debit. It is not exactly true free for life and only the first 4 cash withdrawals in a month are free. Subsequent over the limit withdrawal will be charged RM0.50 each time it occurs. This however will be automatically waived if you have at least RM5,000 inside your account each time the excess withdrawal occurs. VISA is issued only for regular accounts and debit MasterCard is only for Maybank's range of Premier current accounts. QUOTE(ssiapf @ Jul 12 2010, 01:47 PM) "all banks are required by BNM to provide basic savings account with ATM without any fee" Only if yours a Basic Savings Account. If you account is the PLUS Savings, then there is an annual fee of either RM8 (for regular blue color MEPS-ATM card) or RM12 (for Day2Day VISA debit card).i got a saving acc with public bank, so can i get a ATm card with no annual fees? |

Withdrawal from savings account through atm is counted? Does the machine show how many times left each we withdraw? |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Jul 12 2010, 05:54 PM) Withdrawal from savings account through atm is counted? Does the machine show how many times left each we withdraw? Yes. It is the withdrawal made through Maybank's ATM that counts. The free allowance will reset on the first day of every month. You have to keep track yourself of how many withdrawals you've made every month. Anyway, you can still perform unlimited over-the-counter cash withdrawal. |

I have RHB ATM card and RHB Cash Connect. If this is the case where RHB has increased the cash connect annual fee to RM20, might as well terminate it and use ATM card for withdrawal purposes only. Just utilize my Maybank Debit Card.
Anybody in the same boat? I didn't know that they have increased the annual fee to RM20 recently. Any announcement or did I missed that? |

I was the batch before they introduce Debit Card, so when I opened my account that time, I got ATM card. After they introduced the Debit Card, I applied for it.few months ago it was RM15, recently revised back to RM20 and the cash back is only 0.5% Understood that new account holder won't get the ATM card anymore. |

Someone asked what's the difference between PBB Visa Electron and PBB Day2Day. The difference is Day2Day is tied to a saving/current account whereas Visa Electron is a stand alone card. Visa Electron is useful if you into some risky business but you don't want your other accounts to get affected if things go side way.

Yes. They do. It is named e-MasterCard. It doesn't come with any statement but you can register for CIMBClicks and then view all your transactions in there. You can top-up your card for free via any CIMB Bank cash deposit machines. Please note that this is a standalone card and is not linked to any of your CIMB Bank savings account. QUOTE(cyxbox @ Jul 13 2010, 01:42 PM) n is it good?? @ is there's any complaint bout it?? Yes. It is good mainly because it is annual fee free. However, it's not a very popular card. Not sure why though. Probably CIMB Bank has not put much effort in marketing this card. |
