i started my ACCA today..... part 2.wohohoho........damn hard....
hav to sit for so long , friday, saturday and sunday...whole day got class......very tired.....  but SUNWAY lecturer.... very good...  juz very tiring..... choose SUNWAY!!!... ermm... gundam wing... u r ACCA affiliates rite? izit hard for u to study ACCA?? i mean part 2 onwards... |

normally is 6hrs each day, 3 hr in the morning, 9 -12, 3 hr in the afternoong, 1-4.
they do have extra classes at night and weekend classes |

Just come to study ACCA at TAR college.
I just finished my ACCA part2 examinations. Well,why it's much better to study at TAR college? It's because of the cheaper fees and internally assessed ACCA papers sey by local ACCA lecturers.Internally assessed examinations means although those papers are set by local examinors, the paper was actually reviewed by overseas ACCA examinors. Too bad,i still got my part 3 examinations which consists of total 5 overseas papers to go. Dun worry..if you wanna pursue to ACCA
take Diploma in Accounting at TAR College and thn pursue to Advance Diploma in Financial Accounting cum ACCA it'll takes you about 4years. Besides,you can Take CAT and then ACCA at other institutions as well. Too bad..the CAT students hav2 retake the paper? |

Pls compare, if u go Systematic and Sunway and straight passes which one will be faster. What language do you speak in TARC. Do ACCA examination paper in Mandarin? Somemore did your lecturer full time in the campus? ---> But this is not important because i found out that FTMS lecturer (part time) not bad too. I just dont like the study environment in TARC, thats all. Edited : I said this because I have lots of fren doing ACCA in TARC. They pass internal but external jam already. Our lecturers are fulltime with experience,if got part-timer,they are just tutor. :Lol
yeah..we speak chinese with friends,but when come to learning in lecture or tutorial,they are all being conducted in ENGLISH..It's the same if u go to other colleages and speak the same LINGUA FRANGUA with ur chinese friends. anyway,tarc in all words is "cheap" nothing else,but it's same when we have to pay for external acca yearly subscription fees and examination fees. Besides ACCA, u can choose CIMA or ICSA if u are more into management. By the way,why choose business course ? :Lol |

i wana ask if i can go kl sunway to study, but my lecturer says tat there is no need bcoz they are all coming to my place(kuching) to teach and only go when im taking part 3...
im currently taking part 2.1. 2.2. 2.3...... but i plan to go wif my frens in july... izit good the lecturer for 2.4, 2.5, 2.6?? im asking for opinion only... |

I paln to go kl continue my part 2 but as i noe TARC knot continue half way lik tat... if i wan to study at TARC then i hav to put aside my CAT then waste another 4 yrs for tat.....
So next choice is SUNWAY lo.... but from wat u said go to different place to study then must b very rush lo.. Bside, in terms of transport n accomodation not very "mahuan" meh? Im not living in KL... juz went 4 study... |

bcos TARC have their advance dip which exempt the part 2 of ACCA ...their route different lor...
all other institute that provides ACCA is in the KL city centre..except for sunway....it's not hard at all........ it's < 5 mins walk from FTMS to systematic...less than <10 mins walk from FTMS/systematic to kasturi etc etc...it's all very near 1 =P |

Sunway rulez, hope you all do well there. It's really recommended for ACCA, well u have to take note of their high requirements though

Just somethings to share about ACCA. With ACCA, you are given 10 years to complete it fully starting from the first exams that you sit for. If you don't complete it within 10 years, you have to start over again from paper 1. Hence your partial ACCA qualification does not last long, if you don't plan to complete it. My advise is to pursue a degree or diploma first and after completing it only pursue ACCA. With a degree or diploma, you would get exemptions from a number of ACCA papers (but check up on the recognition of the degree or diploma first). A degree would usually get u 6 papers exemption from ACCA. At least if you stop ACCA half way thru and don't plan to finish, you still would have ur degree or diploma.
As for places to study, I think Sunway College, FTMS and Systematic (KL) offers quite good classes. Big 4 nowadays send their employees pursuing ACCA to Sunway College. I think for prospects wise for CAT and LCCI, they are both the same considering that CAT is equivalent to LCCI. |

no need....after u finish ACCA...work for 3 yrs then u can apply for membership already....no need take another final exam....
the 3 yr experience can be before,during and after ur ACCA course systematic not good lar.....the only lecturer good is 3.2 tax by chong kwai fatt CAT to ACCA is faster and easier..unless u plan to work before u jump to ACCA, then LCCI is the preferred over CAT for the employer.. y r u restricting urself to sunway,systematic and TARC? lol furthermore i think the branch that u go to study ACCA for systematic will in KL instead of the SS2 branch...not very sure but that's what i think/know lar =P if u only want to restrict urself to these 3 colleges then i think systematic is out.. Already apply for accessment for CPA (in Jan) but haiz....until now only got their receipt of payment. firstly i thought the ACCA / CAT exam paper is same in every colleges...b'coz it is an international paper wat....

CAT fresh grad....below/maximum 1k i suppose...and it'll be more on accounting field rather than auditing field...commercial companies not those audit or acounting firm...
what i know is that CAT kinda hard to find jobs LOL it's equivalent to LCCI but i think with a diploma level it's tough to find a job.... |

ACCA....do it in TARC if you want to save money. It's not bad there...as long as you have the discipline to study and not stray off in your studies...Sunway college is over-rated....the fees are not cheap and definitely when you are there you will feel pressured by the peer pressure there....trust me for this...i know friends who are studying there and in TARC and i can see the difference...anyways, it doesn't matter where u study in the end because it's down to your hard work that will determine everything u acheive. ACCA is uber tough when it comes to PART III. and u just gotta stay strong and be hardworking to pass ur papers. doesn't matter which institution u're in. just me dua sen. hope it makes sense. cheers~

Sigh! i guess mostly will choose FTMS since i wanna get diploma in accounting,degree and ACCA after degree.
It's sounds like waste time rite? but FTMS's counselor told me if i completed my degree in accounting can enrol straight to part 3 ACCA. Is it the same also compare to the one who take CAT-> ACCA? 2nd,if take diploma -> degree - seems like can study more wide in business area. anyone agree with me? actually at this moment is,i wanna study in FTMS for diploma & degree. after that,come out and work and study part-time for ACCA part 3. Coz the counslor told me part 3 not easy to pass,better if have experience based on working operation/procedure..is it true? My mind now ->   |

FTMS ar....bad environment...bad admin staff...bad facilities...the only thing good is some of their lecturers..
yah ACCA not that hard...it's just okay once u reached the level...it's like when u r taking UPSR everyone is complaining how hard SPM is...once u reached SPM level u think it's just normal..kinda hard but still can handle...once u look back..SPM is peanuts LOL..... so the conclusion is...people will grow and learn through their lives...when they reach a certain levels...hard things will be easy =P |

Yala... for this professional course where got easy one. of course tough lo.. but if syallabus change also no need to worry bcoz if u r on half way they will help u go through it(ehh... duno how to describe la).....
i juz know that on the syllabus is goin to hav a big change but juz on proposal only, u can have a look on the student accountant the syallabus that they putline is stil very brief. besides u can give them feedback if u have any suggestion on it.... juz now heard my lecturer say that some papers they are goin to change the exam style into computerized exam.... ???!!!!.. but juz a suggestion and on proposal... dun wory.... ACCA is lik that one, u put how much effort on it, then the result will based on ur effort u have put in.... just hardworking. |

if u want college life.. sunway is definitely the place to go..
otherwise,it's okay to go for other institutes.. popular ones in KL will be, FTMS and Kasturi.. i myself is studying PAAC so i'll recommend it LOL =P |

PAAC is like a small institute.. frenly staff.. nice people there.. lecturer also quite nice.. but it's small lar.. used to be even smaller.. but now they got a lot better bcos they got some new lecturers from KLC,FTMS etc..

i think not.. used to be.. now registered only gua.. as far as i know.. now only TAR is premier.. sunway and IPG premier plus.. the rest all registered.. u can check tru the list of tuition providers in ACCA website
PAAC very famous for MICPA.. u ask any MICPA students they shoudl know bout PAAC.. for ACCA they r just starting to really promote.. they dont have heavy promotion like kasturi,FTMS etc.. the principal is NAWEM's president.. and she got many connection lor.. if u want to find job, they can arrange for you.. they very friendly right? wait till u meet them in person.. they r great hehe |

PAAC is a small college..but i think it wont shut down.. bcos it has been around for more than 20 yrs.. and the principal is more keen on providing education than earning profits.. she's a nice lady.. she's NAWEM's president and was in PWC before this i think.. and she has plenty of shareholders and frens with common objective on providing quality education

depends on how fast u walk.. i take bout 8-10 minutes to reach PAAC from KLCC station.. i start counting once i got out from the tren =P
PAAC is at block B of Megan Phileo Avenue.. There's a fountain between Block A and Block B.. butterflies hanging there. lol.. then u can go in from the backdoor.. u take lift up to level 7.. u'll see their backdoor... the lane to the lift is located between Iran Air and some Nasi Beriyani shop.. maybe u shoud give them a call.. bcos many people find it hard to go to their premise.. bcos there are so many lifts there which leads to different unit =.= megan phileo avenue is just next to AmBank building which is next to Australia Embassy.. which is behind Public Bank |

Well, I say take the college most convenient to you... sunway ACCA classes are BIG, i mean it could well reach a hundred students in one class for famous subjects... lecturers are known to be well known but that should only be in the higher level... but if u ask my personal opinion.. Premier plus is a status given by ACCA to tuition provider in recognising their quality. It is the highest possible award and sunway is the first tuition provider outside europe to obtain it followed by ipg. It has to meet a stringent set of criteria and continue to do so, failure to comply with the criteria will result in the recognition been taken back. So far, sunway is still able to meet the criteria..

haha.. can get timetable from the rack there.. i think if possible,u can ask them if the timetable r out =P
exams not taken at ur college 1.. ACCA have a list of exam centres..as far as i know.. only TARC,sunway and IPG is tuition provider as well as exam centre.. |

Btw, my lec's spot ques did come out quite a lot wor.. he is from sunway le...hehe.... lucky i did go temple n pray b4 exam.... if i fail then..... 'tin mou gan' ar.....hehe.....

and not like 2.3, calculate then can pass adi.. 3.2 need to write a lot bcos of tax planning kuching so farrrrrrrr aiseh.. nvm lar.. haha errr.. take 4 papers ar.. risky or not.. hard to say.. if u got study then can lor.. if no study.. take 2 paper also risky ma hahaaha.. depend on urself 1 lerr.. but i'll prefer if u take 2.5 seriously.. study really well bcos it'll help u in 3.1(if u plan to take) and 3.6 (which u must take) LOL gd luck to u too |

i am ACCA student too.
i hope this don't mean to anyone as i am just giving some opinion. i am from sunway university college. my idea is, to those of you who wants to pursue your CAT, pls come over to sunway university college. And for those who want to continue/ pursue to the higher level, pls don't ever step into sunway college. tell you what, many good lecturers have step down and go to other colleges. for example Mr tee chai hong(2.4/3.3), Mr chow chee yen is going off next term(3.2),mr goh(2.6),mr marcus,mr dinesh going off next year(2.1,3.4).and some other lecturer...hey...sunway is not a good college for acca...go to either kasturi or systematic.even i am a sunway student..but seriously,i am going to that college next term..the environment in sunway is good..but their lecture hall is sucks...the seat is not comfortable at all.... |

transport will be a problem for me next term..
as i am going to 2colleges. but after taken into calculation..it's well worth the effort burried in.. i am going to kasturi college and systematic KL... the fees in sunway is rather higher by double or triple the fees of kasturi and systematic. i admit the lecturer at sunway university college is very friendly. but they are not very efficient.. good lecturer from sunway can be found at kasturi and systematic.... there is too many policy in sunway.. i read the above info,some of them say have to pay 20k to complete the course... that was last time. Present,the fees has increase...by 200 plus. depending on the subject.. 2.5 is rm1180..which damn expensive compare to kasturi around rm 450-500...try,take into consideration...this is just my opinion as sunway student.. |

the syallabus will be updated by acca every 5 years if I'm not wrong so that your knowledge that you get after core paper will be applicable for at least the next 8-10 years. After that , well experience and further seminars for that professional point will be required

TARC offered INTERNALLY ASSESSED ACCA part 2,which means the questions are all set and marked by our own lecturers!meaning to say,what you learnt are what will come out in exam
nevertheless,the fees are afforable.RM6k+ for 2years (excluding exemption fees). p/s:TARC have been awarded Premier Plus tuition provider status recently for more info,click here. |

xcrue, I don't think I will take Chong Kwai Fatt intensive class, his class is clouded with people. I really don't like big class. Another point is RM 400 for 4 days, is too expensive!! Continuous 4 days from 9-5 is exhausting, can you digest all the information??Very unlikely!! Anyway, I will seek my friend's assistance if I have problems in my study.

We can also share some exam tips and exam anwering techniques. We should study hard in a smart way in order to ensure success in our exam, isn't it ? For instance, with the release of Budget 2006, the DEc ACCA Taxation paper, all the tax rate, personal relief etc, we should follow the latest budget or the old taxation system ?? Pls help, thanks |

But, which chapters to emphasis, bare in mind that only certain topics will be examinable. Only Genius can memorize the whole text book and reproduce it in exam !Share some study tips!! Eg. Higher level of learning like Degree or ACCA always require understanding. Understand also enforce our memory.Mind map is one of the tools that help linking various info into a big picture for understanding and enforce memory. But, I find hard to use mind map for ACCA. MInd map is very useful for Moral, Sejarah, Fizik (SPM), thats what I think!! |

To further prove that, my friend that study ACCA in one of the Penang College pass this paper, but fail Adv Tax & Audit (2.6)!! Worry is a good thing, that means u are concern about it and hopefully u will take action about it. Taxation is very tough, thats the paper I worry. But, i STILL didn't study!! What I said is based on statistic, from world wide passing rate to our seniors advice. |

3.4 is easier than 3.2 in a sense, bcos u can tembak answers and answer with logic in 3.4, while 3.2 is either u know or u dunno.. it's very hard to answer 3.2 if u dont know the act/rule etc
i would say 3.2 is the hardest paper among all optional papers... 3.1 is easier XD |

I haven't start study my ACCA
hikari, mind u share how u study your Adv Taxation. U use how many weeks to prepare for this paper?? U pass this subject, certaintly u have the credibility to talk about this!! The most important question, u study all chapters in Malaysian Tax & adv Tax book?? What is your advice u want to give us for answering question session? Is it necessary to memorize the Section/ Case law name (eg. S122) or just need to know its principle!! Does the case law name carry any marks?? Thanks |

uuhhmm.. my Adv Tax... i start my exam preparation 1 week before the exam XD .. i was sitting for 3 papers last sitting, so i used a week for 3 papers.. then err.. focus on possible topics that'll come out.. then study hard on the topic that is sure to come out(it's the topic that's in the article published in Student Accountant).. just study a bit here and there.. tembak answers here and there.. and then i pass.. is my answer good enuff? but basically that's what i did.. but 1 thing lar, u really have to listen in ur lectures.. then can understand and remember easier the case name etc wont give u much marks lar, but might give u extra marks.. so even if u dun remember it's okay, if u remember even better lor.. but if u practise a lot or the section/case is important, ur lecturer sure repeat a lot.. so very easy to remember 1.. anyway, irresistable, what courses r u doing now? diploma in TARC? ^^ |

u know what, whatever college she comes from, the college will start advertising n exploiting her success.. but as most people know, getting incredible results in ACCA is not the lecturer's effort.. it is the student's effort .. good lecturer would mean nothing if the student is lazy n stupid it's mostly the prize winner's effort in getting the prize.. not lecturers n most definitely NOT the facilities or the support the college provides.. |

I just became an ACCA student this July,currently in Part 1.I need your opinions on taking 4 papers per sitting in part 2.Is it wise to do so?I hear Part 2 is really difficult.I am thinking of it so I can finish up ACCA before Dec 2007...when the syllabus will be changed.So please give me your opinions.

Today is the 3.3 paper exam. It is so damn hard especially the risk and uncertainty question. My lecturer always said to me whenever doing a question, ' come on guys, this is the hardest question that it can get, Shane Johnson does not know how to make question, he always put one question from old paper 9 exam.'
But today, my god. The question are darn hard. I hope that I can have better understanding about the questions asked in 3.3 paper , but it is too late now. It seems that all my hardwork are nothing. Just have to wait the result. |

At the first ques, only after exam I notice there is underlying tax tht we need to make adjustment. Second Question, is Withholding tax for royalty(know how) but I write withholding tax for technical service, DAMN STUPID!! Second part of Q2 is double deduction, but I don't understand at the point of that time, transfer pricing i really have no idea. Real property company, don't think it will came out!! However, it came out!! Don't know how to do, but still simply write something!! who's teaching 2.5 at sunway?can we attend a single class(just for 2.5)rather than sign up full for the college.? i still searching for a tution provider for 2.5!! beside haneef at systm..cuz for PAAC clash with 2.6 wit sheila at mcorange lor...
