Congratulate Audit & Adv Tax are tough papers.
I am TARC students, will be sitting for ACCA this Dec. I took paper 3.2 Adv Tax & 3.3 Performance mgmt.
I am always one of the guy who want to score in exam, but I done pretty bad in my year 1 adv diploma internal exam!! I perform fairly well in my SPM & my diploma but now after knowing that some top students also fail their ACCA core papers.ACCA is a nightmare to me .
Any prizewinner or ACCA graduate willing to give me some advice?? And is it necessary for me to get tuition?? Which tuition centre(place) will u recommend??
Anyway, TARC lecturer sucks but TARC fees cheap & I got scholarship, so can't complain. Even better, TARC is awarded Premier Plus status recently, I am proud with it.

xcrue, I don't think I will take Chong Kwai Fatt intensive class, his class is clouded with people. I really don't like big class. Another point is RM 400 for 4 days, is too expensive!! Continuous 4 days from 9-5 is exhausting, can you digest all the information??Very unlikely!! Anyway, I will seek my friend's assistance if I have problems in my study.

We can also share some exam tips and exam anwering techniques.
We should study hard in a smart way in order to ensure success in our exam, isn't it ?
For instance, with the release of Budget 2006, the DEc ACCA Taxation paper, all the tax rate, personal relief etc, we should follow the latest budget or the old taxation system ??

Internal fail, external pass, VERY UNLIKELY !!
Just like other Public U or colleges, for internal exam, there is always some guidelines from the lecturer!! Even if the lecturer did not give any tips, the question paper is not that tough like ACCA. Our lecturers tend to set short question considering our english standard. But, ACCA is toatally a different story !!

If that really happen, you can resit and if you pass all subjects, you get your Advanced diploma & ACCA certificate.
Or Another option : you don't resit, you don't get TARC Advance Diploma certificate, but you still get ACCA cert. *(Anyway, who wants a Advance diploma, if u already have ACCA )

Actually, what I mean is Spotting questions, bottomline we still have to study all! But, which chapters to emphasis, bare in mind that only certain topics will be examinable. Only Genius can memorize the whole text book and reproduce it in exam !

Share some study tips!! Eg. Specialised industry : BISA !!
How to memorize Section effectively etc
Instead of using normal note taking, maybe we can use mind maps , speed reading etc. What I mean is study tecniques specifically for ACCA !!
We have to work smart or increase our learning ability since I saw so many bookworm or Tarc Scholar fail in the ACCA external papers!!

I don't want to fail, I can't tolerate failure. Xcrue, start study?? I m still in honeymood...

I agree ACCA exam all is about application. However, what we study have to commit into our memory in order to apply it in the exam! Higher level of learning like Degree or ACCA always require understanding. Understand also enforce our memory.
Mind map is one of the tools that help linking various info into a big picture for understanding and enforce memory. But, I find hard to use mind map for ACCA.
MInd map is very useful for Moral, Sejarah, Fizik (SPM), thats what I think!!

Most ppeople commented BIM is the most easy Part 3 paper!!
To further prove that, my friend that study ACCA in one of the Penang College pass this paper, but fail Adv Tax & Audit (2.6)!!

Worry is a good thing, that means u are concern about it and hopefully u will take action about it.
Taxation is very tough, thats the paper I worry. But, i STILL didn't study!!
What I said is based on statistic, from world wide passing rate to our seniors advice.

I will start study next Monday!! HAve to start early.
TARC passing marks for Part 3 is 40marks (since is not internally assessed again), external is 50 marks

hikari, mind u share how u study your Adv Taxation. U use how many weeks to prepare for this paper?? U pass this subject, certaintly u have the credibility to talk about this!!
The most important question, u study all chapters in Malaysian Tax & adv Tax book?? What is your advice u want to give us for answering question session? Is it necessary to memorize the Section/ Case law name (eg. S122) or just need to know its principle!! Does the case law name carry any marks??

I m studying TARC,Advanced Diploma in Commerce(Financial Accounting). Now, taking Adv Tax & Performance Management ! (Fortunately, no carry forward paper )
I already Graduate diploma in Accounting.

Paper 3.2 & 3.3 !!! So, may Luck on my side.

Import & export Tax is not in Paper 3.2 syllabus!! Not examinable.
Is good for u to know more!!

I even not able to draw the decision tree!! Quite tricky, but some of my friends manage to done it!! And questions that came out are much relate to recent Articles :Problems of Performance Measurement, JIT&backflush accounting, environmental mgmt accounting. I find it quite OK in other questions. I pray to pass!!
My friends said Paper 3.2 (Adv Tax)is easy but I have such a terrible fever tht day and I know I have done many mistakes. I will fail unless there is miracle. Next time, I will go for Choong Kwai Fatt class. (last time, I think myself as genius that I don't need his help.)
At the first ques, only after exam I notice there is underlying tax tht we need to make adjustment. Second Question, is Withholding tax for royalty(know how) but I write withholding tax for technical service, DAMN STUPID!! Second part of Q2 is double deduction, but I don't understand at the point of that time, transfer pricing i really have no idea.
Real property company, don't think it will came out!! However, it came out!! Don't know how to do, but still simply write something!!
People say is easy,why I find it so tough??(Frankly, is quite easy compared to pass year) STUPID STUPID

I am also a pure science stream (SPM)student, I didn't take Account for my SPM. I think u will be fine at the beginning stage for ACCA, is quite basic!!

However, since u r studying STPM science stream, so u should choose subject more related to your study. If u choose ACCA, u already wasted 2 valuable year. As long as u gain GPA 3.17above, the course given will be quite fine!!
Or u should consider private University like MMU or Unitar Or UTAR etc

This is ACCA limit people to take max. 4 papers, not your college!!

Is TARC that bad?? Yes, it might be, but u can seek outside tuition.
Frankly speaking, are u a good student?? U want to take 3 papers in one sitting?? ACCA is not easy, u might fail. (Sorry if I underestimate ur ability)

For me, Being one of the top students during Diploma & SPM & a scholarship holder myself, I felt that ACCA is tough & might have good chances to fail in one of the paper. I even get "C " during my Advanced Diploma

If u want to take many subjects in differnt places, is it convenient to do so, will it waste ur time?? Anyway, Chong Kwai Fatt is not teaching tuition anymore, at least for this 2 years, no book published fr him also I heard fr my friends said he is really good !!

I see many top students fail in their Core Papers ACCA, drop an Adv Diploma Certificate which is not difficult to obtain is not a wise act.

Can u give me some idea which tuition (conduct by who) is the best for 3 core papers???

I need it bcause our lecturers r a total disaster!!
& I learn fr experience last time, our lecturer did not cover many major issues for tht particular subject (Taxation)!! I hate him!!!!!!!
I know I have to work very very hard if I have to take 4 papers.

Lets said, if my friend fail 2 papers in last sitting, can she take (previous 2 papers+ 2 core papers)
