TARC offered INTERNALLY ASSESSED ACCA part 2,which means the questions are all set and marked by our own lecturers!meaning to say, what you learnt are what will come out in exam

QUOTE(hikari @ Sep 5 2005, 03:25 PM) which means u have a tougher time to cope with part 3 bcos u r not used to ACCA exam format/techniques/style ..... and u'll get advance dip (equivalent to part 2 ACCA) and if u pass ACCA.. u'll get ACCA+adv dip.. that's all.. yeah,i agree wif u.most of my seniors seek outside tutors for part 3 papers.perhaps TAR lecturers r lousy at level 3. if i take CAT route to ACCA.. i can get ACCA+OBU degree+CAT.... trust me.. i have friends studying with me.. they r from TAR.. they regretted they started off in TAR.. bcos they only got a dip.. all big firm accepts at least degree/partial professional qualification... now they r left to work at small firm.. struggling to pass their part 3 just me RM0.02 btw,u can top-up degree in UK for 3 months after adv dip.so u're still considered as a degree holder. i would say there's always a trade-off between wat u paid n wat u get lor. |

thanx for d opinions guys
i've decided to leave tarc n study 2.3-2.6 outside despite i've gone through them in tarc. it's mainly bcoz my foundation for part 2 is very very weak n i don think i could adapt to part 3 wif such weak foundation. not to say tarc lousy o wat....but there r pros n cons for internally assessed sys...i don wanna being pampered under internal exams n couldn't adapt to part 3 in d future. well...im now taking 2.3-2.6 4 (4 PAPERS!!!) in june sitting. wish me luck guys....im gonna study very very very X100 hard for d next 6 months....then clear 3.1 n 3.2 in dec 06 n finally 3.5-3.7 in june 06...so tat i can gao dim all b4 new syllabus in dec 07 |

QUOTE(LZXian @ Feb 26 2006, 12:51 PM) um...guys? I'm planning to study accounting at TAR college for the May intake after I get my SPM results in March....can you offer your opinions concerning ACCA and CIMA? What are the differences between these two and the job prospects for each?thank you if price is ur main concern, then tarc is ur choice.path in tarc wud b Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) [2yrs] ---> Advance Diploma in Commerce cum ACCA [2yrs]if quality is ur main concern, then go for CAT ---> ACCA.i'm not sure bout d duration of d CAT course...perhaps u can ask Hikari |

QUOTE(G[a]rY @ Jun 15 2006, 04:28 PM) IMO=in my opinionbtw i think CKF is onli conducting 3.2 classes in SEGi (systematic) college next sem, not 2.3 classes i personally recommend Ms Wong Paik Wan at McOrange for 2.3. IMO she is a very dedicated and hardworking lecturer. She will always make sure u understand wat she teaches n her notes r well organised. N d most important thing is her tips for dis sitting 90% came out |

QUOTE(coolly @ Jul 15 2006, 08:16 PM) Wherever possible, your Supervisor should be a line manager or partner who is: which means? can my boss verify my STR? btw i don really understand how to obtain PC (A) or PC (G) leh....colly mind to explain? thanx in adv * a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant; or * a member of an accountancy or auditing body recognised by law in your country of employment. If your Supervisor is not a qualified accountant, there may be another individual within your organisation who holds a professional accountancy qualification. If this person has sufficient knowledge of your work, then they can review and verify your STR1 Records and STR2 Summary of Competences instead. However, if there is no other qualified accountant within your organisation, ACCA will still accept STR forms that have been verified by an unqualified Supervisor. Ideally, your Supervisor should be a suitably qualified accountant nominated by the firm to act as your Principal. A qualified manager may review and verify your STR forms. However, the STR1 Records and STR2 Summary of Competences must be countersigned by a Principal if your pre-membership work experience is to contribute towards a Practising Certificate (Audit) or (General Practice). |

QUOTE(vivaldi @ Aug 21 2006, 06:18 PM) Yea, i heard from my lecturer that there is gonna be some changes due to the budget. But studyin 2.3 on ur own is a No-No way to pass it because the budget changes every year and therefore, you will have to revise your notes every time. i c....wat i meant by studying on my own is reading d previous notes n find out wat r d changes in new budget? do u guys think it will work out?or shud i attend revision classes for 2.3? |
