best if u remove...

thats for old laptop....new one doesnt need to remove to preserve the battery. because after the battery fully charged while u using it then it will go direct to ur pc instead of through the battery then to pc....u can check the battery light.

plus use it for some time. do not never use ur battery. because if u never use ur battery for quite long time also will damage the battery....

correct, I'm using Vista, and if I turn on my laptop with >96% charge with adapter plugged in, the laptop battery won't be charged whilst the laptop will directly draw power from the adapter.
I'm not sure if XP has this function or not... perhaps not.

Well,this is not OS dependable...as i know its depends with the laptop MB BIOS itself...mine here using S42,when install XP, 96% stop charging already..so i guess all current laptops have this function...

*btw, the heat from laptop will damage the battery...well, not suddenly will affect the battery but for long-term it will..so,if you are using AC adapter,better to take out battery..

i encountered some weird problem

sometimes my sound wont bunyi...

i oso dunno why,check the drivers,it`s ok

2 or 3 times restart baru ada sound

but it`s rarely happen to my lappy...

If the problem happen quite a few times then maybe you can bring your laptop to any Asus SC to check your audio lor..maybe got hardware problem..some glitches in the MB maybe...

i also have this weird sound prob.

the method I use is then it happen, i sleep the system and resume it again. if it doesnt work, i try hibernate it.

i malas wanna go to asus to complain. too hassle.

by the way, if i not mistaken, this problem is related to driver issue. the SRS driver i think.
my laptop also face the same problem

i dont think all people have time to read all 66 pages just to find a solution to the prob. maybe what najmpd can do is put it on the first page.

i was only here starting from page 60 like that. dun bother to read all previous 59 pages.

i uninstall the SRS driver.. it makes the volume very low even at max..

just got mine from lowyat

k40ab 2nd generation with the sticker 20 % cooler (dont know whether they really change the cooler inside or just add the sticker) rm 2020 without free gift...come with asus bag and mouse

install vista ultimate...and install all the drivers from the asus cd..all no problem..never install srs and other webcam software..coz it's useless for me.

all FN key working...and the power express auto detect and user select is working..bios set to power express .

idling temperature after 15 mins 77 Celcius

play street fighter 4 temperature goes up to 90 C..never stress it with PI..so dont know what the max temperature..

have a feeling this laptop only last 1 year then condemn coz of the heat.



Overall...good gaming laptop...speaker not good altho says altec lansing..sounds too soft....nowadays all laptop speaker not good already... quality build..so so ...compared to old asus f80q...
