2GB is sufficient, unless you multitask (opens boatload of programs at the same time). I got not enough memory at one time, when I open 50+ tabs in Firefox and decided to play Crysis while the browser is still in the background, during the game, it gives lack of memory. I doubt you'll do what I do, but if you does, buying 4GB now is a good bet, since DDR3 is becoming mainstream and DDR2 prices will going to raise because of it
*
im surprise to read tat shocking.gif isn't it kinda difficult to change tab when u have open many tabs
btw, for me
2GB ram enuf
3GB ram useful when u suddenly multitasking
4GB, basically the extra 1GB useless unless u go for 64bit & other heavy application

nice temp, but why the cpu usage is around 50% during idle?
maybe it will be even cooler if totally idle (cpu usage around 10%)

honestly,
i play Crysis MAXIMUM setting but without anti aliasing
resolution 1330 X 780 if i not mistaken
smooth performance but sometimes little bit lag.
*
u sure no lag??
mine studio 1555 with same 4570 play 1280x720 resolution in high settings suffer lagging problem already
how come urs can run it with very high setting? blink.gif

smile.gif
never mind then
depends on u want to believe or not smile.gif
hehehe
but dont expect too much la, because what i mean smooth is when i play at normal condition
when the situation got crowded, of course there is a bit laggy.
*
haha laugh.gif i think my "smooth" is different with urs lah thumbup.gif no offense thumbup.gif
btw, i played it @ 800x480 with all mainstream settings
QUOTE(astria @ Sep 9 2009, 08:14 AM)
3D Mark 06 wise, it's 4k (Studio 15) and 3k+ (K40Ab) respectively...
but i guess the CPU pulled down the score... if on Asus F81Se or U80V (also HD4570 DDR2 but with Core 2), i think 3.3k shouldn't be much problem...
the rest of the difference will be the RAM... 600MHz DDR difference is quite a large gap if u ask me...
*
maybe graphic memory is the problem? blink.gif eg. GDDR3 faster than DDR2?

actually ha.. theres no such thing as bottleneck on fsb...itu old rumor...the 1:1 ratio fsb:dram... tu semua tipu one because everything goes into the chipset not through the cpu...btw amd fsb is lower than core 2. core 2 duo is at 266mhz. while amd is 200 somting only.

normal cooler pads dun have much effet cos the bottom dun have intake for the fan, using an exhaust blower like the evercool fairy or magic (which i myself use oso) will have a much better effect since the fan inside so damn slow and doesn't react to high temps ( u could try the fan speed bug to enable 100% fan speed but i find the sound annoying especially at night)
*
evercool fairy? magic? brand or product name? sweat.gif sorry i very noob bout notebook accessories
which laptop do use & mind to tell me how many degree celsius decreased after using cooler?

QUOTE(jackng @ Sep 10 2009, 12:01 AM)
hey u all use wad software test the lappy temp??
*
for graphic card, u can try google gpu-z
if it is not work, then try HWmonitor

nope. am not using any cooling pad. on a table wit room temperature. wow....ur temperature so high...maybe different laptop different cooling system. other k40ab also has the same temperature while gaming?
*
well, my case is different
cpu rarely exceed 60C, but gpu damn hot during gaming

QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Sep 10 2009, 02:26 AM)
lol, d brand is evercool bro, the fairy and magic are basically the same exhaust fan the u attach to the heatsink vent behind the lappy to suck the heat out, difference is magic can adjust between fast and slow and d price around 10 bucks more exp, while i never use a notebook stand+cooler i can tell u the temps drop around 7-10 c compared to 5c from the other ppl experience. btw i bought mine(magic) at ALL IT @ rm49
*
u mean u open ur laptop & change its fan to evercool brand fan? rclxub.gif
the themp drop is applied for which hardware??

@Xehanort

Evercool Magic is like this one...just attached it to the fan side of the laptop..and it'll help pump up the air for cooling

thanks, finally know it
unfortunately, this kind of fan mostly cannot be used in my studio 1555 due to its own design
