found out this lappy few days ago.. from my bro.. i've been eyeing on cq40-401ax.. well now this model came out.. the price is equally same.. and the GPU certainly attracts me..

reading this topic.. seems troublesome to tweak everything eh.. im not so of a pro..

so this lappy is definitely better then 401ax? full recommendation for it?

btw the game mentioned is CoD 2?? not CoD 4 ah? how does it perform o CoD 4? impossible to run?

planning to get this laptop in da coming pc fair.. haha

so.. actually.. what guidelines should I folo when purchasing it?

for the processor i certainly have no choice rite? its oni available in athlon. by comparison which shud be better between turion and athlon and their performance.

and.. i've been viewing on this thread. and most ppl are undervolting to keep it cooler rite? do i have to use a specific software or just do it thru da bios? everest is mentioned in the posts. and its da oni software that i have.

and about the HD3200 and 3450 thingy im still dont quite understand.. in how to make them show up..

and is it wise to install a pirated vista ultimate? since it comes in freedos..

thanks to the sifu-sifu in advance notworthy.gif

the windows 7 interface looks kinda complicated and hard to use actually.. from what i see lar..

but whats da additional stuffs in windows 7? jus a slight upgrade in appearance from vista rite?

win 7 is free with home premium oni wert.. surely the seller will provide home basic i guess.. and if possible it comes in freedos.. i might be able to same some cash wert.

for the ultimate.. im gonna be installing it myself.. im gonna set my own partition and stuffs.

hmm.. what does RC stand for and.. with ultimate? sorry i dont understand.

yeah.. unless im going back with the freedos itself.. and get ultimate installed myself..

well.. mostly probably they'll give me a free home basic.. for free upgrade its gonna need home premium or business or ultimate rite?

btw.. i actually have a 1gb ram at my house.. so is it possible that i install the ram myself? will the warranty be void?

oh.. so.. the processor determines the speed.. well.. basically da turion will run better with the aid of faster ram but athlon processor runs faster but with a slower ram which makes them even?

a recovery cd as in the windows one? well.. its most probably a freedos.. and when they install.. i wont know if its the ori or pirated one..

does purchasing the laptop come with the driver cd?

i have zero knowledge on the processor stuffs.. haha.. all i know turion saves mroe power and cooler eh..

well.. rm300-400.. it cost quite a sum eh.. i guess.. im left with pirated vista as choice..

ahh i see.. so those labelled of 667 and 800Mhz in the processor are those indicating the ram speeds.. cool

so from the brochure i gotten from ASUStek in midvalley.. it says 800Mhz so the ram shud be running in 800Mhz.

and ram can be overclocked? according to Someonesim??

and "anyway, for AMD, the CPU type determines the max RAM speed u can use, since the memory controller is built into the CPU, where for Intel, the FSB of the CPU is the key as memory controller is located on the mobo..."

tat means only AMD processor determines the ram speed while Intel processor leaves the job to the motherboard?

and last of all.. it shud be impossible to get a turion version in malaysia rite? probably.. 1% chance?

its clearer now. hahaa. thanks bro.

hmm. well whats the real diff of DDR 2 and DDR 3 then?

from the brochure i've got. it says the athlon processor is 800Mhz?

is there a typo or what?

oo.. the speed in Mhz rite?

but with the processor FSB running at at 667 or 800.. the DDR3 lets say its 1066, its fairly useless rite?

means it all depends to compatibility.. between the processor FSB with the ram..

a higher ram with a low FSB is fairly useless.. correct?

so.. whats the use of the cache and stuffs which are listed down.. i've no idea what are those..

so now basically.. the athlon and turion dont have much diff in terms of speed rite.. but power saving and heat does make a difference?

still contemplating on to finding a turion model.. haiz..

and amd for gaming is FTW lar rclxms.gif haha

another question here..

TS's k40ab processor supports oni 667Mhz for the ram??

the brochure i got says its 800Mhz support eh?

wonder if theres something wrong in the price list here..

AMD Turion X2 QL64-2.1Ghz
2GB DDR2 PC667 Dual Channel
250GB Ultra DMA harddisk
and so on..

the processor is a mistake itself right?
and the ram given is double 1Gb rite? which makes it dual channel.. and its only 667Mhz?

so.. if i wanna get it working in 800Mhz.. i'll have to overclock my processor adi eh.. which is a necessity for K40ab users?
