Guys,

Which one is more suitable for runners? RS800CX or Polar FT80? I started to feel regret buying in Polar FT80

What's the pros and cons of both model?

chin leong, if you check Polar site, you will notice that for Fitness & Cross Training, the model start with FT, and for Cycling start with CS, and RS is for Running and multisport. But seems like majority of the watch can pair with S1 the foot pod. Anyway, I have not tested one, so really not sure what to expect.

maybe Frank/phoenix can help on this.

Did someone ask for me? Haha... Sorry been away as I have been real busy lately. Probably just check the thread once a week now. Will be opening a new thread in about 2 weeks time as I see this one is hitting the 2500 limit soon.

But anyway, if I were to choose between RS800CX and FT80, I would go for RS800CX for functionality. FT80 certainly looks nice but when it comes to exercising, RS800CX really rules. Besides, FT80 is really prone to scratches. However, if compare with RS300X, I would opt for RS300X anytime for it's value for money. RS800CX is seriously overpriced. Besides, RS300X is tougher and is after all the best seller.

Btw Mr Choi, Im actually finding a running shoes, well, is there any chance if I go and meet you up, you examine my foot (maybe my running form too) and recommend me a decent one ? (Of course if this the option I'll be getting the shoes from you) My size is US12 btw.

Shing Yeh is that dude on ur profile pix, laugh.gif

You can actually come to my hse in Ampang and try put the shoes, or we meet at Lake Gdns on a Sat morning from 830am after my run. As for your feet, you can actually do a wet test first to chk out if you are normal or flat footed. Whether u have normal or high arch.

IINM, the lower end models, like RS300 series & below, the footpod is S1, the heavier, bulkier version. Starting from RS400 U can use the S3 footpod edi, which is way smaller & lighter than S1. But, having used RS300SD with S1 footpod since Sept last year, I dun really feel that bulk is a disadvantage whatsoever, U can't really feel it la, once U put in on Ur shoes. I've changed the footpod battery twice edi, the HR transmitter once. FT80 is more towards cross training la.

Owh thanks. Will do the test soon and once I decided to get it, I'll contact you again ok sir. Browsing thru your blog, kinda poisoning myself with the K-Swiss and Newton, and not forgetting Saucony too sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

Edit : Actually wanted to get me a pair of Lunarglide, but afraid of its being an overrated stuff from the big company, so better seek a pro advice here smile.gif

Kinvara is a new breed under the Saucony stable. I wont know how the shoe will perform, and also it wont be here till at least end of the year. So the best bet for a light weight shoe now is still the Fastwitch 4.

Greeting runners,

Remember the problem I faced earlier *sob sob sifus all bz with big run and missed my problem hehe joking*. After few readings, googling, experimental running asking friend to capture video and pictures to analyze my running form, finally I overcome the problem. Its actually caused by my wrong running form, while I play badminton, basketball, futsal, running HiiT, all categorized as fast pace, so I usually strike my forefoot during landing and take off. Unlike slow cardio like mid distance run, I usually relax, lay my body back, and land with my heel, it causes my knee to hurt. Now I practice running with correct form, forefoot strike, yes in the earlier stage its a bit awkward but even after 5km, 7km I still run without noticing any pain on the knee like before (abit hurt at midfoot perhaps due to getting used to wrong form). I'll run more in the mean time and keep u guys updated eh, and share the problem with newbie runner who facing the same problem smile.gif

QUOTE(mizivincible @ Mar 24 2010, 02:12 AM)
Greeting runners,

Recently Im into jogging, my left knee starting to feel slightly pain (the upper part of the knee) after few km, let say 5km above. This never happened during my sports (basketball, badminton, futsal) and my HiiT session (was doing it 3 times a week for 10 - 12 reps of 30 seconds sprint 60 seconds slowjog for the past 2 months). Only occurs during and after jogging.

Im worrying it might affect in long term. Im not sure its either my running form is incorrect or I need a better running shoe as Im quite heavy at 80kg and 181cm. Need your opinion on this, thanks in advance.
*
I share a video too of correct running form *abit iklan about Newton too hehe*

Hope you guys dont mind I babble about my problem here, just sharing smile.gif
