Added on July 24, 2009, 10:52 amToday im feeling good n called Machines at different outlets to get the monthly instalment rates

Mid Valley
2% for 6months, 4% 12 for months

Gardens
4% for 6months, 6% for 12 months

Suria KLCC
No monthly instalment

Sunway Pyramid
No monthly instalment

Lot 10
No monthly instalment

1 Utama(Old Wing)
Havent decided yet, waiting for HQ memo? >.<
after all too far away from my place so i just let them be tongue.gif

IMPORTANT Lastly, ive called the machines at the Gardens and the guy said the rates offered at his shop should be the same to all other machines shops (coz the order came from their HQ) while the rates given by mid valley shop are actually for everything else in the shop except for the iphone.

If there anyway that I can sign a 24 months contract if I port-in from Celcom?

I have got an idea, I port in to Maxis postpaid first, then only sign up for Iphone IValue, so I ordering the iphone as a Maxis postpaid user, like this, can get 24 months?
*
I am in the same boat as you. Thought about porting-in to hotlink then sign up ivalue as a maxis user. Checked with maxis but they say they will still consider you as a celcom number thus you will only be allowed to sign up for 12 month contract-government regulation they claimed.

i think all of them, but the 1 dat some forummer mentioned earlier thats depending on banks, u made the transaction 1st then u will call ur bank to make it as instalments, i can confirm that cimb does offer dat, do payment 1st, call them up to make it as instalments but still subject to approvals, Maybank doesn't do anything like dat sad.gif

btw teikwing, above statement might cause some confusion, coz it was said by the Gardens machines apple guy, not personnel from mid valley's. so take it as 50/50 as im no longer in mood to make any calls for now >.< the Garden's guy also said the rates offered by them are from the HQ so it should applied to all other Machines shop.

so to sums up what the garden's guy said:-
-All the rates offered by them are from their HQ and shud be applied to all machines
-2% for 6months, 4% for 12months (all stuff but iphones)
-4% for 6months, 6% for 12months (iphones)

but still, im taking my chances to get lower rates by buying from machines mid valley tongue.gif

hey guys, avars may be right about the instalment only given for everything else in the shop except the iphone. and i think it's applicable for ALL Machines outlets.

coz the last time i went there to enquire at Machines KLCC if purchasing an iphone there can still help me get rebate points (Machines membership program), and they say only iPhone cannot. coz it's handled by Maxis. they're merely sort of hosting Maxis to sell the iPhone in their respective shops, and it's not considered one of their products. so since it's not considered one of "their products", i have a feeling the instalment plan won't cover the iphone.

so better double-check with your respective Machines branches before you plan on doing the instalment.

why divide by 2? they just total up your download and upload at the end of the month. there's no even split between download and upload quota.

standard web browsing/youtube-ing takes up much more download bandwidth than upload. even if you're sending email, or submitting forms, it doesn't use up alot of upload bandwidth. unless you're constantly uploading huge pictures/videos all the time, then yes, your upload bandwidth is gonna slightly higher.

and 500 MB is actually quite alot for standard web browsing, apps and GPS usage, and a little YouTube, judging from some other comments from previous iphone users here in this threads.

if you do youtube a lot, 500mb is definitely not enough. Even moderate usage also not enough.

Cause 1 movie is already around 10-20mb. You watch 10 is already 100mb-200mb. One month can easily go more than 10.

u cant actually calculate how much u can download by divide the quota by 2 just because they charge upload and download together... normally data uploaded are lesser than they are downloaded, so of course u will use more than 50% of ur quota on download.

Hi, I have just called machines @ The Gardens, they are not very sure about this offering...
And he said if this is true, it should be applicable to all machines outlets.

and, they said will confirm after the iPhone launched...

I AM CONFUSED.

Agree, agree. Also don't forget now we might be uploading more since we can take video and upload straight to Youtube from the 3GS.

@DaViDcHiN,
Port in customers are only allowed to sign on for a maximum of 12 months; this is regulated by law hence U won't be able to sign on for 24 months.

Thanks for clarifying, means even-though I port-in to maxis rm50 postpaid plan from Celcom 12 months ago, I am still consider as port-in user?

So only Original 012/017 number is eligible to sign for 24 months contract?

If it's true, then very sad though.

Added on July 24, 2009, 7:01 pmOh yeah, may I know what is advance payment as it is not stated in the plan,

Is Prepayment of Monthly Fee = advance payment?

Went to Time Square Maxis today and one of the girls there with a 'Consultant' badge on her shirt told me that new data plans will be introduced some time next week. I also asked if I could subscribe to the 1MB and 5MB data plan, as I am already a Value Plan user. According to her, no. That are only for Blackberry users and the only 2 options I have are RM99 unlimited plan or pay-per-use.

I am not convinced with her 'only for Blackberry users' information. Hence, I suppose her information about new data plan should be taken with a grain of salt.
