I am currently considering whether to sell my Samsung LCD monitor when it comes back from repairs and getting a Dell instead.

Samsung LCDs aren't cheap either. Generally, I won't mind if it cost around RM600 to RM700. When I pay more for a product I would expect better quality and reliability.

If that's not the case, at least a speedy repair process or a quick substitution.

I wonder can we file a suit against them for crappy services?

I also have my fair share of bad experience with samsung  LCD monitors .
1st time sent took them 3 weeks to repair , then i pick up it lasted 3 days the problem back . Then send for repair again , took another 3 weeks . Sold it off after that .
Then i bought a Dell LCD , lasted me  2years then the power button give prob , call them up 2 working days they gave me a replacement LCD no questions ask . Thats what i call good after sales service !

Thumb up for Dell ! I hope AOC never provide the services like Samsxxg.

But so far i dont see any forumers here complaining about AOC rite?
So, shall keep my finger crossed tight tight ! tongue.gif

Talk about Dell...
My bro bought it last 4 months...
It was a 21.5" cost about RM520 ( i think u guys shld know the brand, cuz i dont know at all )..
Erm, there is one problem i encountered...

1. Playing game, monitor on-ing...
2. Dinner time, push on/off button (located at bottom right)
3. Now the monitor is black... (sure, cuz its off)
4. Come back and press the on/off button to resume.
5. One blue box came out (displayed something like wat power save mode this and tat)
6. The screen still black lol...

Fans were running at tsunami speed inside the casing... LED lights have no problems at all...
The only solution to get back to existing activities with the monitor is to ... OFF the main power and on it back... :lol

Wondering wadz wrong?

I choose 2333SW. Better quality than Dell S2409W.
Cool design & looked more branded than AOC & Acer  thumbup.gif

Yeah, my friend is using this one, quite nice.
Is it 23" exactly?
However, it's lack of HDMI signal input, but DVI can also support full HD, so i think it's only a gimmick la.

By the way, I'm using AOC 2434PW now, fully satisfied, it's 23.6" though.
I give it 9.5 out of 10, as I got it with quite low price icon_rolleyes.gif

I totally agree with your verdict for Samsung.

I don't know how they keep getting away with this for all their products.

Buy Samsung products and pray to God that it never breaks if it does, you are screwed.

if your t240 is like then i dunno how p2450h or 2494hs will perform because t240 is the second top most premium line after p2370 and xl2370 for samsung so will 2494hs and 2450h will suck even more?

i really dont like dell 2009 and 2010 because in terms features and build they look worse than e2408 or ultrasharp e2408. becuase if you look at dell's s2409 and st2410 they look very cheap

i think for other brands Asus LG and HP are the best i dont recommend viewsonic though

i think Asus vh242h, LG w2361v W2453tq HP 2309m 2509p (awesome model)

my friend and i together bought a hp w2448hc now its no more stock its absolutely stunning i mean led backlit big dimension first i thought rm 1180 for a 24 inch is really too much but then in the shop it was side by side with vw266h and it looked bigger and almost equal in height and lenght then we grabbed + its 1920x1200 i really like 16:10 instead of 16:9 because it gives space for subtitles and in games you can easily set to 16:9 its really awesome i hope 2509p also has bigger dimensions more than this but problem in MSIA HP products are pricey and ppl dont buy them but they are top quality lcds

Not that accurate ..... although HDMI 1.3 and beyond can support more than 1600p no display device has implemented it yet, in fact I would say all present display devices (monitors/TVs) with HDMI port only support SL-DVI's bandwidth (which is a little more than 1200p)

People buy LCD monitor with DVI and HDMI ports because they connect the DVI port to the PC and the HDMI port to the PS3.
In this way, they don't have to plug and unplug the connector at the monitor end.
The DVI cable wil be permanently connected to the PC.
The HDMI cable will be permanently connected to the monitor as well. When they want to play PS3, they just plug the HDMI cable to the PS3 and start playing. When stop playing, just pull it out from the PS3.

Hey guys,

Need some advise on choosing a 23" widescreen for my younger bro.

Going for Samsung.

20" 2043SW AD | 1600X900 | 5MS | 15000:1 450

23" 2333SW Plus AD | 1920X1080 | 5MS | 20000:1 640

23" P2350SW AD | 1920X1080 | 2MS | 50000:1 745

23.6" 2494HS ADH | 1920X1080 | 2MS | 50000:1 780

Which is better? I'm thinking of getting him the 20", but do you think this model is okay? He wants 23".

Please advise.
