Another update on Samsung repair services:

It has been 2.5 weeks, again they ding dong around my Samsung T240.

I am not sure whether the spare parts has arrived or not (from Singapore apparently, must be sending via walking)

I am also not sure when can I get my LCD monitor back given that I did not received any replacement unit for my use for time being.

3 months no shit, I am better off buying a 27inch or 30inch LCD monitor from Dell.

No more Samsung for me after this.

Worst part is that they didn't not even provide me with a replacement unit.

I bought my Acer 23' at BJ complex, it's slightly cheaper than 1stop and the shop keeper's attitude not bad. The name of that shop is Win Luck. smile.gif

That sounds bad.

How long do warranty do they provide for your phone?

Apparently mine is 3 years for LCD and my LCD is less than a year old before it turn bad.

I hate it when they say they don't know when they can get it fixed, or when the spare parts arrived.

I don't think any big company would have problems with that at all and it should not take 3 weeks to get all these sorted out.

Dell S2409W has the biggest screen of the four, but there is an audio lag issue for HDMI connection (Not sure if it's still present or not) which might be annoying for some people. Dell has it on sale for RM689, I assume it was a clearance sale because I just checked again and it's no longer available, same case as the S2309W, both have been replaced by the newer ST series laugh.gif

Acer H233H on the other hand is just 23", which is smaller than the Dell and AOC, but having a gloss finish screen means its colours will look more vibrant, at the same time more prone to reflections.

As for the AOC, bleeding issue, but in my opinion it's negligible as I can't notice the effect unless I purposely do a test. And I guess bleeding is also settings dependent, the brighter the screen, the more obvious the effect.

i think should be no changes because mouse sensitivity is not dependent on the resolution.
Maybe you will feel as it is moving faster or slower but it is because the change of sizes in resolution.
In reality, the sensitivity is still at 800 dpi.

owh ok, so if were to be doing a 180 turn on 800 x 600 resolution will still be the same feeling/speed doin the same degree of turn in bigger resolutions? ( FPS games particular )

Another update from Samsung:

Apparently the spare parts has not arrived from Singapore / Korea / Mars or whatsoever.

I'll have to wait till first week of November 2009. 5 weeks of waiting altogether. That's it, I am officially boycotting Samsung for good.

From 2-3 days, to 2-3 weeks and now 5 weeks, maybe should stretch it to 2-3 months altogether.

Hi guys,
I intend to get 1 HD LCD but I seriously cannot differentiate between the picture quality between normal lcd and hd lcd. Visited all IT hypermarket today and saw samsung p2450 ( i think ). Not really much different from mine 932bplus (19inch). Can anyone tell me how to differentiate? Intend to get 1 to watch HD anime and PS3 ( not yet get 1 ). Still thinking between p2450 and AOC 2434pw. Of coz AOC 2434pw will save my money alot . But isit in term of picture quality, did it lose to samsung p2450? And summore my friend said AOC 2434 got built in speaker, which might  spoil the lcd itself. And AOC only got 1 RGB and 1 HDMI input and no DVI right? Which mean if after i buy ps3 my pc can only use the RGB port.Afraid that keep plug in and out the HDMI cable will spoil the lcd. I wonder should i save the RM 300 or not. Need advise. Thanks.

Splitter:D

Anyway, save that RM300 !!!
Brand is always a concern for everyone...But trust me, AOC is a good brand... laugh.gif

I also share some of the very bad experience with Samsung products like you and it is been 3 years ago that I swear to myself never purchase any of the Samsung brand products (any kind).

a) My first mobile phone is a Samsung (forget what model already) bought 6 years ago, paint come off the plastic after 5 months of usage and the phone looks ugly. Call them and they said not cover in warranty for normal wear and tear (this case paint tear off). No more Samsung phone from me.

b) Samsung washing machine bought by my mother also about 6 years ago and remember it was RM 699 then, after 26 months (just after the 2 years warranty out) the thing gone dead. Call the shop and they sent a technician to check and he said need to replace the control board panel which cost RM 380 and need to back order with Samsung. Ask him how long to wait and fix the thing, he said 1 month plus. No washing machine for 1 month plus will be a nightmare for my family, so we give the damned unit to the technician and dont want to see it again. Bought a toshiba unit later that week and guess what, working till today (6 years already) and never got any problem before.

c) My second monitor was Samsung 17 inch CRT Flat screen bought 5 years ago (replacement of my ultra old 14 inch), bought it because of its screen display quality (second only to Sony Trinitron) and cheap (compare to Sony and HP at that time). Used for 2 years only and the CRT fail on me, colors gone haywire (blue become red, red become yellow, colors become dull).

After all this, i have lose confident in all Samsung products and will never get any products of this brand anymore.

Just last month, my cousin Samsung LCD TV 40 inch was sent back to SenQ for warranty claim (he said need to wait 5 - 10 minutes for picture to come out after switch on the unit).

Not sure if Samsung product problems are isolated cases for me but it seem that myself constantly facing or hearing problems from this brand.
One thing for sure is that their warranty and service claim is really really ................................................... really sucksssssssssssss all time.

I also have my fair share of bad experience with samsung LCD monitors .
1st time sent took them 3 weeks to repair , then i pick up it lasted 3 days the problem back . Then send for repair again , took another 3 weeks . Sold it off after that .
Then i bought a Dell LCD , lasted me 2years then the power button give prob , call them up 2 working days they gave me a replacement LCD no questions ask . Thats what i call good after sales service !
