Has anyone encounter a thin white line on their LCD monitors before?

Mine is a thin white line from the right.

It appears during Bios.

Tried changing the cables and stuff doesn't seem to work.

Did the dead pixel check, it only appears for certain colours.

Thanks.

Quite annoyed with Samsung T240, bought early this year and now have problems within less than a year.

I am stuck with using a 4 years old 19inch Samsung monitor.

How long does it take to repair a LCD monitor?

Sent mine for repairs last Saturday, still not ready yet according to the service centre.

Not happy especially since it cost a lot more than those regular LCDs.

Very unhappy with my Samsung T240 which went bad within 9 months.

Disappointing for the price paid.

Currently under repairs, hopefully to get it back by next week. Sent for repair last Saturday.

Called Samsung service centre again.

Spare parts not arrived, almost 2 weeks my Samsung T240 was sent for repairs.

Very disappointing.

They must be shipping the spare parts via row boat.

WOW.. my 19" samsung LCD just spoil...

want to ask, how long is the warranty process?

now using 15" crt, feel like wanna die when typing
*
Supposingly, 3 years from the day of purchased / manufactured depending on whether you have your original receipt.

I am still waiting for my Samsung T240 to come back (Dec 2008 model) and it's taking ages for that. (2 weeks since I sent for repairs)

Another update:

Just called them, they told me to wait another 2-3 weeks for a new panel.

Got so annoyed, I request to speak with their higher ups, now it's schedule for next Tuesday.

Hopefully, I'll get it back for real this time.

Another update on Samsung repair services:

It has been 2.5 weeks, again they ding dong around my Samsung T240.

I am not sure whether the spare parts has arrived or not (from Singapore apparently, must be sending via walking)

I am also not sure when can I get my LCD monitor back given that I did not received any replacement unit for my use for time being.

yah me too ... my phone take 3 month (send in three time) but problem still exit, now my dvd writer they ask me to wait one month ..... sad.gif
i vote for dell s2409, get it last week with super value prices (no more now smile.gif) ..
*
3 months no shit, I am better off buying a 27inch or 30inch LCD monitor from Dell.

No more Samsung for me after this.

Worst part is that they didn't not even provide me with a replacement unit.

this is the worst part, after three month (three main board change, they claim) my phone still not in 100% condition but they refuse to do it cause they warranty expiry .... (screw them)
*
That sounds bad.

How long do warranty do they provide for your phone?

Apparently mine is 3 years for LCD and my LCD is less than a year old before it turn bad.

I hate it when they say they don't know when they can get it fixed, or when the spare parts arrived.

I don't think any big company would have problems with that at all and it should not take 3 weeks to get all these sorted out.

Another update from Samsung:

Apparently the spare parts has not arrived from Singapore / Korea / Mars or whatsoever.

I'll have to wait till first week of November 2009. 5 weeks of waiting altogether. That's it, I am officially boycotting Samsung for good.

From 2-3 days, to 2-3 weeks and now 5 weeks, maybe should stretch it to 2-3 months altogether.

I am currently considering whether to sell my Samsung LCD monitor when it comes back from repairs and getting a Dell instead.

Samsung LCDs aren't cheap either. Generally, I won't mind if it cost around RM600 to RM700. When I pay more for a product I would expect better quality and reliability.

If that's not the case, at least a speedy repair process or a quick substitution.

I wonder can we file a suit against them for crappy services?

Dell : Pay and wait for delivery. (slower)
Samsung : Self Collect, (Instant)

Warranty Claim:
Dell :
1.Call Customer Service, diagnosis online Faulty go step two.
2.faulty ? they come to you and exchange, within a week.
Rate: 5 star  drool.gif

Samsung :
1.Call customer service (to locate Samsung Center).
2. Bring your LCD there(15km).
3. fill in form n sign and wait (sorry you don't know how long they take).
4. wait, wait, wait, then call with reply " Sorry part not arrived yet".
5. month past, call again, lcd ready,

I totally agree with your verdict for Samsung.

I don't know how they keep getting away with this for all their products.

Buy Samsung products and pray to God that it never breaks if it does, you are screwed.

My office Samsung 940BF died just after 2+ years, no screen at all, suspect backlight failure, anyone knows where to fix it?

I forget how many year of warranty already, don't have receipt as well as warrant card, in fact have nothing in hand, can still claim warranty? (I suspect it is 3 years, but I can certain shop only provide 1 year only)
*
You can find their service centres from the Samsung website. There one near federal highway.

It is 3 years, if u lost your receipt, it will start from the day that the LCD was manufactured.

Don't put too much hope though, my Samsung T240 is still not back yet and I have to wait till 1st week of November to come back (hopefully) and not another wild goose chase.

Sorry to hear about the predicament of your AOC Angelo.
Can you pls update here or me on the warranty/RMA speed of AOC warranty service (product return back to u).

My 1yo samsung T240 RMA for the third time last week and i expect around 1 month time to get it back same like the previous 2 times. This monitor give me a lot of trouble and now i have no LCD monitor to use (currently browsing internet and typing this with my nearly cacat 15 inch CRT monitor).

Im planning to get the AOC 2434pw if AOC warranty return is fast (like 1-2 weeks). The T240 will be put to storeroom as standby when it come back, no confident to use it anymore since it is quite FRAGILE.
*
What happened to your T240 that resulted in RMA 3 times within a year?

Mine was the thin white vertical line across the screen.

It's still stuck in their service centre at the moment for one month.

Very disappointed with this because T240 cost almost 1.5x to 2x more than the rest.

Finally I getting my Samsung T240 tomorrow.

Been awhile since I am able to play games on a 24 inch LCD monitor.

Man, my next monitor will be a Dell. Really unhappy with the long waiting period.
