Common Kelvin White Balance Settings : 2500K - very strong orange tungsten light 2800K - strong orange tungsten light 3200K - yellowish tungsten light 4500K M6 - flourescent light (most flourescent tubes are green even though our eyes don't see it) 5500K - flash 6500K - daylight (or daylight-balanced flourescent light) 9900K - strong blue stage lighting or evening light
Xenon lighting is rare but that should be between 7000-9000K.
Whenever you enter a new situation that has different WB, just set your Kelvin WB again and test with one shot. You should be able to do this with practice.
With the Sony A300 and A350, you can use Live View and see the effect of changing Kelvin WB... live!
M = Magenta G = Green 2500K = Blue 9900K = Amber
Take a picture. Supposing the picture is very Green, you need to add the opposite which is Magenta. If the picture is too Blue you need to go closer to Amber. So if the picture is very blue-green-ish, you will need to go closer to 9900K M9.
To prevent the built-in flash from appearing in pictures when in wireless flash mode, you can use any of these methods, or a combination of them:
- use a darker aperture (e.g. F11) - use a lower ISO (e.g. ISO100) - use a shutter speed faster than your flash sync speed so that High Speed Sync is activated (e.g. 1/320th of a second) - use a piece of exposed, developed negative film in front of your pop-up flash

i think ur D60 is the problem if wanna play with CLS, because D60 didnt have built in trigger for flash..
u need to buy the third party trigger to have that function
correct me if im wrong.
correct... need a trigger to trigger off camera flash...which is quite expensive. Need at least d90 and above to have the built-in commander. Sony so generous, put it even on a100

usually what mode i should use?? and why when i use apperture priority, i only can change the F number but the shutter speed cannot move one.. i don know how leh

already stated that it is aperture priority, so u onle be able to change the aperture value.
same goes to shutter priority, u will be able to change the shutterspeed only.
if u want freely change all the values, use M mode.
why i only can change shutter speed. cannot change f number one..
in manual mode, you need to hold the exposure compensation or AEL (i forgot) button to change the f number. Seriously, from here i know u did not read your manual.

lol ok... btw i suggest u to stick with A mode instead of M..M u need to be very good. Sudden change of light could make ur shot over or under exposed. Let the camera decide for you. Unless you are shooting in a Studio, then its a different story.

that shot was taken using tamron sp90 together with raynox 250...the DoF is extremely shallow...
and for that shot..i was bending my body and had to shoot using 1 hand(& manual focus=.=) ..my left hand is holding my F58 firing wirelessly...some kind of torture..lol...but quite lucky to get the eyes in focus..really very hard even at F10...and i only hav 1 shot..after the flash..the fly flew away..

actually not only aperture value that determine the DOF..the the range of lens and the distance from subject to sensor also play a big role on DOF.
correct me if im wrong.

1st post reporting in this thread. . For wedding, tammy 1750 or cz 1680 is better for the job? .. .. I can't stand dreaming of those 2 .. haha .. .
both are great lens..CZ have it own coating quality and the pic will look more contrasty..the sharpness, both are about the same..but dont play2 with CZ, if u can get at rm1.8k, just go for it, but better becareful with the condition first.

saya betolkan sedikit kenyataan saya.
about the same, but not totally same, CZ's sharpness better than tammy, the coating also very good one...tammy, u need to test the lens forst before buy, because got cases that tammy have problem with back focus..and the sharpness for tammy can be seen when it is at f3.5, not f2.8..but on my copy la..dont know others..
i am also aiming to buy this lens, the offer is very tempting...
really worth!it! as this lens's price keep increasing, the 2nd hand value at below rm2k, its a good bargain!..usually ppl will sell ut at rm 2.2k++ for second hand.

lol..go shoot sig's sister la..got wedding tomoro at his house..
Oh. <F number ie: f1.4/f1.7 also produces shallower DOF right? But if i use kit lens 1870, when i am at 70mm, it goes to F5.6 and when i am at 18mm it goes to 3.5. So which produces shallower DOF?
When you say narrower DOF / less DOF means more bokeh? More DOF means less bokeh right?

Kinda confuse now.
If you are using kitlens, you got no choice but to stick with f5.6 since that's the biggest aperture available @ 70mm

70mm at F5.6 should have shallow DOF IF u can minimize the distance u and the subject.

I'm using ACDSee Pro2. and can use to paste water mark to all picture at once.
But i use paint and photoshop to make some watermark like danny's photography and save it.
then go acdsee to browse the file i saved and paste in. End up it looks like a rectangle white box with danny's photography... how ah?
when u save the water mark in PS..make sure the background is already transparent....and save it to .GIF or .PNG......when u import to ur ACDSee..it shd appear as transparent..
meter your camera on the sky then... or.. use WIDE instead of CENTER WEIGHED/SPOT.. if you use CENTER WEIGHED/SPOT... half-press and meter on the sky first.. then recompose your frame
hi bros here....when doing wireless flash on sony a350, how do i stop my on camera flash from flashing, and only the wireless flash fire??
cannot.. unless u wanna buy another accessories for triggering your wireless flash maa.. coz the built-in flash is the trigger of all sony external flash.. if u wanna lessen the light intensity... cover with your hand.. or put some tissue infront of it...

can...like bro albnok said..use a exposed film to put it infront of ur built-in flash... or...use shutter priority/manual to make ur shutter speed faster than 1/200 to trigger HSS.....for me..i always choose the 2nd one..
bro i think more of the sky and lesser of the grass wud've been cooler... just my 2 cents
Thanx, but i want to pop out the orange shirt kid on the field, i dont know how to make him as the main subject..have nothing in my mind on how to do that..im not good in PP ..
i tried to crop a bit so that more will be ponted to the sky..but i think got something wrong lah if i do that..maybe due to the angle and the distortion from the lens.

when u create a new file/image....there is this drop-down-box at the bottom "Background Contents"..u can choose "transparent"....and ur new file would start from a transparent background....
or if u already had something and do not wish to redo again..den u can try to use the magic eraser slowly erase off the white part...try to put "Tolerance" lower so that u wont accidentally delete off other similar color....

@danny94: transparent background? just use the "MAGIC WAND" thingy.. select & delete all the white color... if u want to upload to blog... better dont COMPRESS... but RESIZE... i prefer to see sizes around 800pixel wide.. remember that most people use screen resolution around 1024 only.. resizing should help reduce the file of course

extreme series or high transfer rates like +200x is useful for DSLR cameras that can shoot high quality images at high frames per second (fps)
if im not mistaken a200 can shoot 3 images per second (the max fps at certain settings) - there's no need for a +200x speed extreme series because the camera is not utilizing it.
a900 ok la..use that one..

We were having a model shoot in the sleepy town of Tamparuli yesterday, which is about 30 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu. My friend heard this constant hammering sound and was curious what was it. So he went and checked it out. It turned out to be an old man making sotong bakar by the pedestal walkway (kaki lima) of an old shop.
This is one of my all time childhood favorite bites! I guess as I grew up, I had lost touch with this food. It brought back a lot of great memory of my growing up time with this sotong bakar. Add soya sauce (kicap) and cili sauce, and I was a happy man!
#1 Sleepy town of Tamparuli
#2 Sotong Bakar. Roasted over charcoal fire - the traditional way to do it right.
#3 After roasting the strips of dried squid, it was hammered into a pulpy stick.
#4 They have the dry version. Add soya sauce & cili sauce.
#5 They also have the marinated version. Also very delicious!
That brough back plenty of memories..... Oh God, I am an old man liao...

Got my new tamron 17-50 f/2.8 yesterday.... woohoo
I went to a shop in penang. i know the sellers there..
The new stock for tamron 17-50 for nikon mount came in that shop around 4-5 days ago .. i went there yesterday evening and there's only two 17-50 tammy's left and one is already booked...so only left one... THE ONLY ONE wow..last one in that shop
Tried and tested both sigma 17-70 and tamron 17-50 (also tested with focus chart) and took the tamron because:
1. Constant f/2.8 from 17mm to 50mm - need "cari makan lens" for weddings 2. Body quality - i feel that the sigma's built is still of high quality but the body texture is somewhat undesirable and prone to scratching and/or peeling.
A note about the sigma 17-70 though... the MFD is realllly awesome.. by using manual focus i can put a finger just a few cm away from the lens and it can still focus... wow.. really impressed by that. seriously. a totally fun and creative lens.

Tropicana Life - Standing on the stage at the far right Lewre - Sitting on the stage at the far right FCUK - Sitting on the stage at the far right G2000 - Standing on the floor next to the stage on the far left
chiggy u got use flash diffuser ah?? if got what type?/ can recommend?
my first flash diffuser was the Demb Flash Diffuser Pro. Good for shooting products and stationary subjects like models shooting. Not good for fashion shows unless you plan to shoot at around 1 spot where the model stands. Bought for RM170. Sold for RM150
second flash diffuser is the unbranded stofen bounce. Something like this, but not this brand http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2009-05D...-58am-Flash.htm Good for my use since I like shooting fashion shows (also the main reason I bought sigma 70-200 instead of 17-50 for model shooting) However, you may find the flash more harsh compared to Demb. Bought for RM40
3rd flash diffuser is Pixco Universal Flash Diffuser bought from DG Color during DCIM 2009 for RM20. Cheap material, a bit spoilt after a week Looks bulky... takes time to attach to flash unit and need to same amount of time to store back into bag http://64.224.191.96/member/Outlethq/Pic/Game/DNEZ008K.jpg
Now the 2nd diffuser is always on my flash
If you plan to shoot in big events, try not to use big big diffusers. As Albnok says, they look totally unprofessional. Stofen or gel is acceptable. Those like whale tale or the Maggi Cup, are not for pro events. But then again, when do we get to shoot pro events

Zzz, my auto focus motor on SAL1870 spoiled, when it focus, it will sounds tak-tak-tak for few seconds(2s). Our kit lens is covered with warranty 1 year right? Anyone experience this before?
Note: A boy hit "slapped" my lens
Added on May 3, 2009, 4:15 pmBuy HVL 58 lor, cheap and nice and full featured.
Added on May 3, 2009, 4:16 pmAnd very important for indoor events, get a stofen and u are ready to go.

i have the same diffuser with your's diffuser no2..
means i have to fund for siggy 70200 next before i can shoot pic like u...
chiggy, got any model pics u took without flash? still considering if i really need a cobra
flash is a must no matter what lens you get even at F1.8 (ahmike's 135mm) - also need flash to fill in the shadows especially
no flash on that day... let me check... I edit this post when I found them
Edit: Oh ya, I just remembered I took a few without flashes just to try them out that day they did not look good in the lcd, so I deleted them immediately though, I found some not flashed, but it is not related to the event

untill u cannot tahan???lol....
usually i don really care..coz i don shoot in high aperture...and i can remove them easily during PP......but i guess recently i change my lens too often...when shooting in F15...i hav to remove more than 40 of the dust from my photos..lol....so had decided to send in for cleaning..and also i brought the camera to korea...found some of the pics werent that sharp..so take that this time to check the condition as well......
eh achew, how long then we need to send our camera to sony to clean sensor dust ah?
depends how dusty is your sensor if just a few specks that cannot be clean using conventional methods (blowing), then it is ok - cuz mine has 4-5 specks. Can't see at big aperture... slight visible at F6.3, more clear at F8 above
i'm just gonna wait till it gets more. Of course, during this time, I will still perform conventional cleaning (blowing) to avoid dust sticks to them

best if u had a tripod with u to avoid shaking/shifting...den hold ur shutter and let it shoot 3 times(assume if u set the shooting on continuous mode)
u can do it in photoshop..it would b harder...but u get better control over everything... mostly..ppl do it in photomatix...its alot easier..u just adjust the parameters untill u think its fine....
Added on May 3, 2009, 6:56 pmHowever, no pics or infos...
someone posted 1-2 days b4...but sadly nobody could confirm its a typo or leak......i was hoping to see a a700 or a900 range of new camera...entry level wise..i think a350/a300 is good enough to compete... =p
SpOOkY, the number of AF points on the D60 (three!) lead to one switching to manual focus more often.
chiggy, errr I didn't say big diffusers were not professional. The toilet bowl is fine just that it's quite big and with a F58 it becomes redundant. I would suggest bigger diffusers for wider-angle shots where the subjects can be within 1-3 meters from you. Runways and long range don't need diffusers as the light is already spread across large distances.
5564321, yes you can send it for warranty. It sounds like gear stripping!
Kul | Mo0, congratulations!
achew, focus calibration and dust cleaning is covered under warranty. However you really should get your own blower.

This is wat I worried, so far, when i turn the focus ring, it will "kick" at both end of rotation...When AF is on, the sounds is very terrible, is like a gear is keep spinning on another non-spinning gear.
Just now hand itchy, go take few shots, ah, now rest in my bag already. Gonna take it to claim warranty on tomorrow. Should I bring both camera and lens to go?

I have the same idea as you. Release cameras that replace A700 and many ppl from A200-350 can consider upgrade to it. Ah, I want live view, sometimes not convenient while wearing spectacles.

Well, last time I also send my a200 to service just because of dusts, I found it rather time consuming and finally bought myself a blower. For dslr users, we should really consider to get ourself a blower.
If there is some stubborn dust particles, even you bring it to service center, they also can't help you to clean it 100%. I myself sent to service center and the technician said that it is impossible to remove the dust 100%.
My advice, get a good giant blower for RM40-50 and clean it by your own.

Dude, don't worry. I had the same case as you. I lost my receipt as well! I just send the camera to service center and they got the details of warranty of your camera. For few times I also never bring my receipt or warranty card. Bring yourself and camera and it would be done. Warranty and service from Sony are great, fast and reliable.

Sry, I forgot to put a statement. When you purchase your cam, did you fill in the warranty card and post to sony via yourself or the shop? I got fill up the card and registered my a200 online but their details of warranty is based on my online registration. Hope I make it clear for you.
Note: the details of warranty is printed on the paper of service of my a200. I register it a day after I purchase.

don worry..its good enough...
i did exactly the same things quite a few times...either my blower is really weak or all the dust is sooooooooooooo sticky..i hardly see any improvement..lol
hmm albert, i thought we must not dismount the lens while the camera is on? Because the sensor is charged and will attract more dust? and face the body down and blow so tht the dust wont stay inside the body?
hmm albert, i thought we must not dismount the lens while the camera is on? Because the sensor is charged and will attract more dust? and face the body down and blow so tht the dust wont stay inside the body?
if we don take off the lens..how we suppose to blow the sensor??the sensor is covered if u off the power..correct me if im wrong..
and yea...make the sensor facing down is good..i always do that..but sadly..it doesnt help in my case...

that's why u need to turn on the cleaning mode.. in cleaning mode, the camera will pull up the mirror but in the same time cut the charges to the sensor.. so it's safe to dismount the lens and blow the sensor

AlphaBeta, the sensor is behind the shutter. Go push your mirror up right now and see that your sensor is not exposed at all!
(The mirror will stay up, so turn it off and on again.)
The charged sensor only comes into concern if you try to access the sensor by shooting a long exposure and removing the lens.
I have managed to blow dust out without the body facing down so it's not a big deal.
If you:
Turn on cleaning mode then remove the lens - okay Remove the lens then turn on cleaning mode - still okay
The sensor only gets dust when an exposure is happening. When the mirror and shutter is down, dust would not be able to settle on the sensor. Think about it, how long does it take for dust to settle on a surface?
Oh and happy (belated) birthday signither!

yup, that I am doing for my cobra. . The shop, YL in pudu plaza did not fill in the warranty card. They just putted their company chop on it. . I only will register my cobra after a year or 2. So, I have 2 or 3 years warranty instead of 1. ;P
chiggyy, were you at Fashion On 1 today? If am not mistaken, you were wearing red shirt right? .. I wanted to say hi but you look 'too busy' with people next to you. .
Haha, I face this problem same as finalfantasy before. I believe many of you also experience that. Just key in DSLRA200K (for single lens) or DSLRA200W (for twin lens).
AlphaBeta, because the shutter curtain still blocks it.
In the film days, the shutter curtain was necessary to block light from exposing the film.
For digital sensors, the shutter curtain is still necessary to avoid 'rolling shutter'. I have a digital camera without a mechanical shutter and it gives a rolling shutter effect much like what you see on the D90 video mode:
The shutter speed was very fast on these images mind you! About 1/1000s if I remember correctly.

Get Sanyo Eneloop. Self discharge rate for Eneloop is very low (even in 1 year, Eneloop retains 85% of its power).
Other rechargeables eventhough have higher capacity (Eneloop 2000mAh, others 2500-2700mAh) but some of them do not charge all the way to their stated capacity, hence you'd get a less than <2500 - 2700mAh.
You mentioned you want something reliable... hence go for Eneloop. Even after several months, you can be asured that it still retains its charge / power.

thanks for the opinions...
afraid to get the maha batteries.. in photomalaysia or in some other forum (forgot), i've read that quite a number of people buying maha batt (forgot what model) having their batt discharged substancially in about 3 days only..
higher capacity means u can get higher recharge time..
also important shooting events
Yes, very important to always have the charges available in your batteries.
What I would suggest, to be on the safe side, get 2 sets of Eneloop batteries full charged when going to those events. Even if finish one set, you still have another backup set to use. Hence your charge capacity is double.. ie 2 sets of Eneloop = 2000mAh * 2 = 4000mAh.
Once you have charged your Eneloop to its fullest, you can have peace of heart confident that even after 6 months or more, the charges in the Eneloop are still there. No worries...
Where as for other rechargeable batt, you would not know with confidence how many charges are still there in the batteries.

Since we are using Sony, dont you guys think about sony cycle energy battery? .. ..
I am using it and as I know, it is same as sanyo eneloop, hold the charge for a pretty long time. . So far so good for me. Today, I was shooting about 1.2k shoots using it on my cobra at 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16, and guess what, it served me well from the 1st shoot to the final one eventho i charged them a couple of weeks ago. .

ok lah, like this one, more the mAh, more faster recharge time u will get..
for events, i would like to suggest get more mAh values , so u will have faster recharge time if blasting ur flash at full power.

Eneloop 2000mah only but can keep it's charge for a long time..
for 2500-2700 mah? u recommend maha?
u mean that 2700mah will make flashgun recycle faster so can take pics faster?
write back what i wrote just now..*sigh*
this is my personal review, based on what i have.
Uniross 2700mAh = 1 - 2 sec recharge time when blast the flash at full power.
Energizer 2500 mAh = 2 - 4 sec recharge time when blast the flash at full power.
Eneloop 2000mAh = 4 - 6 sec recharge time when blast the flash at full power.
Of course this is very subjective when u dont know the actual capacity of each battery set..but this is what i can conclude.
the recharge time also depend on the capacity left in the battery, it is not the recharge time is constant untill the battery die, but this is when the batteries in fully charged situation.
thats why most ppl will recommend to buy more than 2500mAh batteries for external flash.
i will using my Uniross and Energizer for wedding reception and any event that needs faster recharge time. n i will using my Eneloop and Recyko for portrait shooting or can be said the shots that dont need faster recharge time.

guys,

store all of them in my HDD, but i will do backup in DVD for every 1-2 months. i will only store the processed photos, that means all other photos that i think i dont need will go into recycle bin..but now, i think i need to buy another HDD la..shooting RAW format is kinda need larger storage than 250GB..

depends on how u use ur hdd bro...so far my os using 40gb maxtor...still reliable up till today....my storage using multiple hdd range from 250gb,2x320gb...so far no problem...and my pc is always 24/7 on...if u want to buy external also can but strictly use it for storage only...if u put multiple media,u will encounter problem later on....
HDD can last about 10 years. DVD or CD can last more than 50 years. Film and tape can last more than 100 years.
Thank you for the information. . DVD would be the best option, based on the lifetime and also the cost.

sengkiat...maybe u can print out some...

Wokey. Thank you for the information dude. . I have 100GB on my laptop, 160+120gb on two 2.5" ext hdd. I am thinking of store them in DVD because I do not believe in HDD because the will give no indicator when will they kong.
Added on May 4, 2009, 4:02 amafter i transferred the pictures from Fashion On 1 to my system, I realize that my siggy 70-300 was not performing as my expectation. . I was expecting something sharper than I got. I will upload the pics in 1-2 days. .

Interesting observation... I googled for "eneloop flash recharge time" and found several links.
nb: I misunderstood your post when you wrote recharge time to mean battery recharge time.. Rupanya you were refering to the flash recharge time... aiyyaa hehe

hmm..Eneloop is indeed very popular but I will choose to go with higher mAh battery because with quick charger, you can get ur batt fully charged in 1~2 hours. Just my 2 cents;)

i will go to the one who can hold the charge in long period .. 6-7 hours of charging time would not be an issue for me because i will charge my batteries at night.
I got Sanyo Eneloop 2000mAh and Sanyo Evo 2700mAh. Normal shooting use Eneloop, if got event then charge Evo 2700 the night before the event.
That time after 1st day my Evo still have juice in it so didn't charge. 2nd day Evo finish and my other 8 Eneloop also finish damn fast, end up go get energizer.

i charged my batt (2700mah) in beginning of april and i used it several times. I tested it again yesterday and it still have juice though its very subjective matter. get what that suits u:)

r u sure eneloop is not that tahan?
why my sony cycleenergy can give me 1200++ shots yesterday and still strong .. I was firing at 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16.. and it is 2000mAh
chiggyy, were you at Fashion On 1 today? If am not mistaken, you were wearing red shirt right? .. I wanted to say hi but you look 'too busy' with people next to you. .
not me cuz i didn't go on sunday lazy bone won on sunday

of course la bro... our siggy are not that sharp at the end 200-300... usually people will stop at 250mm..

vandechrome, I have not found my batteries to recharge any faster if I have higher capacity batteries.
I have 4 Energizer 2500 mAh AA batteries and 4 Sanyo Eneloop 2000 mAh AA batteries. Both take 4 seconds to recharge from a full 1/1 power blast (press Test, then wait for the light to come on again in 4 seconds.)
Do you mean that when you fire one 1/1 blast, then fire another 1/1 blast in 2 seconds, that second blast has much power as the first one? I always presumed that I will only get full 1/1 power again when the Test light comes on again after 4 seconds. I usually don't fire one shot then wait 2 seconds; I most certainly always fire 2-3 shots in burst mode of 5 FPS (so it's 0.2 seconds between 2 flashes). This is to lower the chances of blinking eyes (and have a chance to merge pictures where different people blink.) If I was to shoot again in 2 seconds I'd certainly have a hard time realigning the flashed images.
The Eneloops however are low-drain batteries so they still have power after a week whereas I don't know if the Energizers will. So I always prefer to put the Energizers in the flash to use first, then switch to Eneloops when the Energizers are finished. I always carry alkaline AAs as backup for paid events.
hafeez71, yes the Imedion makes a good backup set.

yikes... your flash eats up so many batteries...
Are you using your flashlite as a "lampu suluh" ka sampai drain all your batteries? haha...
- don't be a pixel peeper, use a higher ISO! ISO400 at least. People ask you to shoot events to catch the moment, not to pixel-peep at how sharp an uncle's moustache can be at ISO100 F8 - remove diffusers if shooting over large distances, it makes no difference. - point your flash forwards instead of bounce for much, much faster recharge times.
vandechrome, forgot to note that I use TTL all the time so I don't have a good idea whether I'm at 1/1. Though I'm usually on ISO400 onwards so chances of that are lower. Also back on my old F56, I could hear the full recharge sound, but I know that I rarely heard it so I know I don't hit 1/1 in TTL much.

sanyo evo? how does this perform? can it hold it's charge as long as eneloop and be as powerful as other 2700mah batts?
guys... this is my first wedding pic.. i really dont know how to compose and still new to wedding photogs.. with my new 17-50 tammy:
(this one i PP) (NO PP) (NO PP)

alpha_company, good that you're using a slower shutter speed to get the ambient colors and light in, but you need to use the white card on your flash to give some forward light to the faces. The shadows on the face are not flattering!

too small la dude, better dun use thumbnail for easier view but from what i observe:
the white balance in PP pic seems not correct.. n the panda eyes is there.. (this one pretty important too) try avoid this by using flash (pic kawinz).. u dun buy the flashgun yet izzit? the composition also look awkward wit chopped at their feet.. also check the eye contacts..

From what i read and wat i learned before buying my batteries pack a year a go, mAh determine how fast the current can flow, yes, it will have faster charging time and also faster discharge time, so based on theory, more current flow or conductivity, more faster recharge time for the flash, i dont know about ur situation, because u are using F58, but with my situation, using manual power level and usually bounce the flash, that wat i can conclude.
yes, i'll wait until it fully charge before another blast.

the full charge sound always occured when the batteries near to die..hmm, i guess we need another TT for this experiment...
alpha_company: i like the first pic. The composition is kinda nice. try adding some dreamy effet(oof/bokeh)..i think it may be nicer:)..the background looks kinda sharp to me:)

albnok's advice : good that you're using a slower shutter speed to get the ambient colors and light in, but you need to use the white card on your flash to give some forward light to the faces. The shadows on the face are not flattering!
vandechrome's advice : crop the cupboard, and better shoot at eye level ..
Sp00kY's advice : i like the first pic. The composition is kinda nice. try adding some dreamy effet(oof/bokeh)..i think it may be nicer:)..the background looks kinda sharp to me:)
MechaHerc's advice : check eye contact
(how to add real life looking bokeh for a pic like that? how if using photoshop?)
signither : after much thoughts, probably jumping ship. unless A800 will be out soon
dun sell ur F42, use it. unless u want the extra power from F58, else i think its pointless. about the cobra twisting head, it wont take u a lot of time to twist right? just my 2 cents
alpha_company: Hmm..i was expecting a much shallower DOF from 1750 . maybe u can make the background OOF (slightly) using photoscape ( iduno how to use photoshop)
i think N got better ISO performance but dun like the warm-ism AWB. C has nicer natural colour but flash is very expensive! If you're into macro, i think C is better (MP-E 65)
p/s: pls dun start any war between brand pls :peace
both also good, S still good it can also depends what your friends have as you might want to share lenses if your workplace allows to bring camera, can also join around... though, my workplace got N and O only...
