Is there the need to purchase Apple Certified RAM instead of normal one?

Like Mushkin, there are both Apple Certified (brand # 976647) and non Apple Certified (brand #991647). The price for Apple Certified one are double than that of non-certified.

So hard trying to figure out a suitable and relatively priced RAM for the upgrade to 8GB.

Once you go Thunderbolt Pegasus, the rest looks like slo-mo. tongue.gif

If anyone is looking for a NAS on the cheap, I'm offloading my old WD ShareSpace 4TB. The difference in speed between the Sharespace and the Pegasus, for a lack of a better word, "dramatic"!

Hey guys, need an opinion here. To boost up performance in terms of speed of mbp, is it better to switch to SSD or upgrade its ram to 8GB?

Basically i'm doing office work, surfing, video editing, musics, all personal, not gaming.
