Hey guys, need an opinion here. To boost up performance in terms of speed of mbp, is it better to switch to SSD or upgrade its ram to 8GB?
Basically i'm doing office work, surfing, video editing, musics, all personal, not gaming.

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Oct 9 2011, 03:19 PM) SSD. You'll hit the ceiling with the RAM, where increasing the amount of RAM will no longer give you any increase in performance. You're using the 4GB ram with SSD right? I saw your siggy. Mind to share you experience? I saw the boot up of the SSD is quite FAST. As you mentioned just now, increasing the RAM won't do much on the performance, but what will it do more to?

QUOTE(feins @ Oct 9 2011, 05:01 PM) SSD r pretty good on accessing ur data n booting up. Upgrade rams are for application which are resource hunger like ur video editing. So if ok you can go for SSD and 8gb of ram just like I do. Since ram ate dirt cheap upgrading is just a no brain. QUOTE(stringfellow @ Oct 9 2011, 05:09 PM) I'm using 8GB RAM with the Vertex 3 SSD in the 2011 Mini. 12 second boot up with the SSD in it. RAM increase does nothing to help that. Read up this article on what an increase of RAM does to help on your routine. The article may be old, but the processes have not changed. Thanks guys! Very much appreciate your help!
