if you've the budget, you might want to look into the prospect of installing an ssd as well.
but if you're always tied for space then disregard what i said please :P apple just recently stepped up their trim support for ssd's with lion and there'll be a lot of things to iron out.

Currently
Mac OSX 10.6.7
iMac 2.66GHz Inter Core 2 Duo
Memory 1GBx2 800MHz DD2 SDRAM
I'm concern my iMac compatible upgrade to 2x4GB RAM
What about this model?
Kingston KVR1333D3S9 4G recommend by OCMAX also active in this thread.
RM138 for two piece 4GB, darn good price.

Actually there is DDR2 4GB but it's impossible to find in LYP. I saw a few [WTS] here but I think all have been sold.

for those who are concerned about RAMs other than KTA ones not compatible with their Macs, both myself & stringfellow have just upgraded our Mac minis with a pair of Kingston KVR 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz. and it only costs us RM70 each. am not sure whether does this apply only to new models only or old as well. old Macs are known to be quite picky when comes to RAM. you can just head to any shops in LYP & Digital Mall. by most, they differ by few bucks per stick. do remember asking 'em it is possible for full refund or exchange in case the RAMs are not compatible if you are replacing it on your own. hope this is useful.
