got the email juz nao. 2009 skytrax world airline winner

Then congratulation to AirAsia. But read the following:

QUOTE
"The respected Air Travel Awards"

Malaysia Airlines has been named winner of the 2009 World's Best Cabin Staff award, in another closely fought contest during the World Airline Survey

"This is a quite remarkable achievement by Malaysia Airlines" said Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, "because it is the 6th time in the past decade that this prestigious accolade has been won by the airline. This is the world's largest and most respected Award to recognise Cabin Staff Service Excellence, and is a clear benchmark for the highest quality of staff onboard service".

Malaysia Airlines CEO, Idris Jala, was delighted and proud of his cabin crew, stating that "they have showcased Malaysian hospitality at its best, treating our customers as valued guests in our own home".

"The SKYTRAX Cabin Staff survey is based around asking customers to nominate their favourite airline based upon the complete quality of their onboard experience. This is more than just serving meals or tending to customer needs, since the survey assesses the all important soft-service elements of an average passenger experience. The friendliness, enthusiasm and sincerity of staff service are clear differentiators when we examine airline performance. Consistency of service remains another critical feature, since it is this which drives future purchase and loyalty decisions amongst customers" said Plaisted.

Asiana Airlines (the 2008 winner) maintained a very strong performance taking runner up spot this year, with Thai Airways moving up into 3rd place, with Singapore Airlines in 4th and Cathay Pacific Airways in 5th position.

Almost every airline will delay. MAS delay only up to minutes. You try compare to AirAsia, it delayed my uncle's flight from 4.xxpm to 10.xxpm. Which one is more serious? I think you should know.

If talking about mismanagement, AirAsia have a lot.

Last year, AirAsia suddenly cancel the Kuching <--> Macau route without acknowledgment. This caused a lot of issues with Travel Agents. Travel Agents lose.....lose..... and LOSE. Did AirAsia ever think of those passengers who registered with Travel Agents for the travel packages which use AirAsia Kuching <--> Macau flight?

About flight delays, passengers hold the responsibility also. Not all delays are caused by the airline or airport. A lot of selfish passengers in this world. They think that they are prince or queen in the flight. They are thinking "ah! just let them wait.".

Before departure, call them again to confirm the remark. And, ask them to confirm whether your friend will be able to check-in or not.

Did your friend enter his/her passport / IC number during the process of booking? If yes, I suggest your friend print out the itinerary, bring the itinerary and passport / IC to MAS office and ask the staff there. However, this is only my suggestion, please forgive me if my suggestion is wrong.

Hope that MAS offer more direct international flights from Kuching.

Also hope that their up-coming 737-800 and A380 will at least better than the current fleet.

Also hope that they order more to replace all their old planes.

Can't wait to see how their new A380 look like.

This is actually my first time book and pay for flights from the internet. I bought tickets from MAS, and this is a domestic flight.
After paying MAS, all I've got back from them is an email , titled : Passenger Electronic Ticket. On it was details of the passengers, E-ticket number for each passenger, flight details and total price paid.

My questions now,
I believe the thing i need now is the boarding pass and I don't know if the printed email can get me into the plane.
So what am I gonna do with the printed email?
Should I give to the counter the printed email and she'll give us the boarding pass?
And are all these done within that day of the flight? How many hours before I need to get this done?
Does the 2 hours check-in applies in domestic flights?

sorry if the questions sound stupid, my first time plan for this and I certainly don't want to screw it up.

Just print the itinary and give it to the checkin guy.

Also, you can use the self checkin kiosk in KLIA if you have the booking PNR, then drop your baggage at the checkin counter.

OR if you dun have the itinary, give the IC to the staff he'll be able to trace you by ur name

Added on April 17, 2009, 12:10 amand check in closes 40 minutes before departure i think, but better be early than late!

There is something i would like to ask
My friend booked a flight and he accidentally place wrongly the name
it supposed to be john but it turned up to be johm instead
He called up once he made the booking to make the changes and there are fees for it and he doesnt really agree with it and
Then he called up the second time to check and the agent said he will put a remark there and say it supposed to be john not johm
and its a domestic flight..will it be a problem for the person to depart later?

for domestic flight i think it wont be a problem as long as u key in correct ic number or other particulars, but if its an international flights then u will have problem at immgration..i have same problem as u,misspell my mother name,,what i do,i call MAS and tell them, then they asked me to sent email to their ticketing department about it which i did, then have to wait them to sent new itinerary receipt, thats all...but about the waiting for new itinerary receipt, yes,it is REALLY frustrating!ive waited for 2 months and at last have to asked my brother wich is MAS worker to do something bout it...

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to ask a question here.

Today, my uncle asked me to help him book a Malaysia Airlines domestic flight. It is RM0 fare promotion. The ticket was booked and paid by using my uncle's credit card.

During the confirmation, I saw the following:

For no. 2, what type of photo need to be bring for check-in? Is it necessary to be passport sized?

And, during the booking process, MAS booking website does not ask for passport / IC number. Will there be any problem?

i think u just have to make sure ur uncle bring along his credit card while he claim his ticket in ticket counter for verification and make sure a passport sized of his photos is present, dont be so worry bout it coz he paid it and his database are reachable by MAS ticketing

IIANM, you can't transfer your ticket but you can refund. it depends on your package. refer to this table.
