I've been trying to book on MAS's site for the past hour but I keep getting this error (when I click on Next after flights selection):

"Unfortunately system failed to verify your selection this time. Please try again."

Anyone encountered this?

No. Let say you bought the ticket but did not board the flight, no miles will be awarded.

How much tax and surcharge you are paying for Osaka?

I try to redeem Phutket flight;

They are selling RM459 on website

Redemption: 12500 point + RM479 for surcharge and tax.

so my point is for nothing and i pay extra RM20? shocking.gif

You have to check the class booked for your ticket. If it is a discounted ticket, you'll only get 50% of the actual mileage flown.

Normally you'll get better deal if you redeem a ticket to somewhere further...

MHPromo is definitely 50%. MHBasic is 50% - 70%. Anyway, you can check your booking class on the flight itinerary MAS sent to your mailbox.

For more information, please refer HERE.

Is it a separate ticket (Penang - KL) or one ticket (Penang - KL - London) ? If it is one ticket then the check-in agent will automatically help you to check-in your luggage all the way to London. If you're travelling on a separate ticket, you will have to request to the check-in agent to check-in your luggage all the way to KL.

Recently book ticket KL-Tokyo return and didn't pay for seat selections when I did the online booking.

I want to choose and pay for my preferred seats now but can't seem to to find the option to do it under "Manage my Booking". Tried calling them but waiting line very long. Anyone here knows how? TQ

I didn't choose the seat as well cause I believe I can ask to have 2 seats together when checking in. That's what I have been doing with AA. HOpefully the flight is not full and even better if they can upgrade me to business class tongue.gif

you need to call them to do that if not found under your manage booking..
and i tried few times, it will be foc eventhough im supposed to pay for preferred seats..
there is a callback option for the customer service which is quite good. they normally will call you back within an hour for my case..

or if you wan try to call early early in the morning....

you can just do online check in 48 hours b4 ur flight, then u can choose ur seat without paying... or call them..
since now MAS is one alliance, not easy to get free business class upgrade, unless you are gold or platinum member..

Is it? What is the point of pre-book the seat with cost?

same as AA mah.. if your seat is hot seat meaning will be grab fast asap.. then better to pay to secure your seat..
but if you just prefer like any random no window seat.. then you can call them to reserve..

i did call them few times to check my booking and i just asked them whether i can reserve my seat or not.. initially they mentioned i need to pay, but after that they asked me for a seat no.. and i told them any window seat, then they just did that for me foc..( of course ask politely lar)

you still have the option to change your seat no when you check in online lar..
