@alexwsk,
I believe taxes payable are applicable for all frequent flyer programmes not just KrisFlyer. I heard from a friend in the USA she prefers KrisFlyer (other than it's got a wider selection of network airlines) because it gives much more flexibility than Enrich does.

So, how many points needed to redeem a flight to SF? And was it on Economy class?! biggrin.gif

@tinkerbel, the standard mileage required is 70k (economy), but online redemption will give you 10% discount (last time, now I'm not sure).
Of course KrisFlyer (Star Alliance) or even AsiaMiles (One World) is better than enrich (only few other small airlines in the network), the only benefit with MAS is one less transit because they are based in Malaysia.
My friend told me that he redeemed Cathay Pacific using AsiaMiles b4, don't need to pay a single cent, not sure how true is that

Ok, back to CC, has anyone here applied for the SCB JustOne?

Just now go Maybank applied a classic card for my wife but they told MAYBANK DO NOT OFFER CLASSIC CARD ALREADY NOW. I was like wtf? are u kidding me? and the officer there keep on pushing for the Ikhwan Gold card and Petronas card to us. Frustrated then went on to other branch also the same. They say now Maybank only concentrate on Ikhwan and Petronas card so other cards not available. Maybank you seriously need to buck up your service here. At the same day, i went to cimb and applied the World Mastercard. Their service is FAST, PROMPT AND EFFICIENT. Cimb is really good.

Bad experience with DA. I had cancelled my both DA master & visa 2 months ago. They always charged late charges and interest even late payment of just 1 day. For example, the payment due date was 4th of each month. I paid by cheque at CIMB autopay machine on 1st of every month. Even it was a local cheque, they took at least 3 working days to clear it and the payment transaction always happened on 4th or 5th. I was so tired to call them asking for late charges and interest waiver every month.

Secondly, the bonus point expire every 3 yrs. They forefeited my 15000 pts when I was busy in overseas. Recently, I redeemed a voucher. I asked them to send it to my hse but they charged courier fee which was shown in the bill statement of the following mth!

-Why cant you put before 1st every month?
- The points got expiry dates.

This down to your fault.

Erm, technically the cheque got in late, so system just computes interest, pretty normal right? Probably u could pay earlier or just go deposit it into the machine instead?

Well yea, they don't have evergreen points like HSBC or Citibank. You probably should have kept track and redeemed before you went.
And although it's rather annoying that they charge courier fee for the vouchers, but it is stated in the member's privileges booklet.

Think it's a credit + debit card. So you can choose to pay via credit or ur current account. Can also use at ATM's to choose between cash advance and withdrawal from current a/c

what funny was, at the same day, i received another envelope from PB, contain application form for supplimentery card and brochure about PB card credit card balance transfer program promotion plus the application form for balance transfer...

i never have a credit card or saving account with them before...but i do have PB Visa Electron....huhu....

Yesterday I called to inquire about the SCB JustOne card, here're some of the facts.

1. You need to open an account with SCB to maintain the card. (Even though you are an existing account holder)
2. Cash rebates are provided monthly but subject to a maximum of RM600 per year. (I'm slightly skeptical about this coz the online pamphlet doesn't mention about the monthly rebates)

Card is rather cool though despite the rebates are provided for only up to RM30K of yearly spendings. Possibly the bank is targeting generally the gold card holders market who will probably spend that much in a year.

for the rm600 rebate max per annum ... the sales told me its per annum not monthly wor ... he say if i used up all the rebate on the first month ( example on friday , transaction rm12000 x 5% = rm600 rebate ) then i wont get any more rebate until next year.

the account comes together with this card is a current account rite? do we hafta maintain any minimum monthly balance to get these rebates???

nowadays banks making their product more complicated despite telling us they combine all to make it easier for us. the truth is they r hiding a lot of terms n increase their chances to gain from us.
