QUOTE(skincladalien @ Apr 22 2009, 01:39 AM) anyway my goal of getting a credit card is done, affin bank used 3 weeks to approve while citibank used about 5 weeks to reject. Initially i was afraid that the affin bank one wont approve so get a sub card cuz i heard its easier to get, now its totally opposite Well ... another angle that you need to bear in mind is that the duration that is takes to get your application approved is not a good measurement. My example with other banks EON Bank 2-4 weeks, RHBBank 8 weeks, HLB they told me card approved within 12 hours but physical card arrived within 1-2 weeks, Citibank 6 hours, MBB 4 weeks - in normal circumstances I don't go for banks which takes too long to process the application (exception for the MBB Petronas - I heard they achieved their 1 year target in 1 month) as that is a sign of how efficient they are.Of course they are other measurements and these again differ person to person experiences. What you could do is to try to apply for another card e.g. CIMB / HLB , etc and see the rejection rate. If you are still getting rejected then it is time for you to go to BNM. Don't be in denial or lazy to do so - sometimes it could be your friend whom you acted as a guarantor if you think you had been paying all your bills on time all the time. (you would know this answer yourself. My friend for example always pay up every month but late for 1 week - does it means you are a good paymaster to the bank ? ) |

Hi all, i got 1 problem here,
I just got direct acces credit card recently, now i want to use it to pay my car downpayment which is rm 4000, i heard about i-pay plan from direct access mastercard that have easy payment scheme. Can i just get cash advance from the card, and pay it using the i-pay plan because the interest rate is cheap. Or can i go to the poh kong ( or any jewellery shop ), ask to swap my card for 4k, and give me back rm 3800 ( then i can pay the 4k using i-pay plan ). Any idea pls, i need to get the money by this week, thanks This post has been edited by bagok: Apr 22 2009, 02:50 PM |

bagok,
Personally, I think you got the wrong concept of using CC. Please do not get into the CC trap by getting cash advance or using it as loan. |

bagok,
Personally, I would advise to cancel the car downpayment. After all, you have not pay for the downpayment. Choose other mode of transport: public, kapchai, smaller/cheaper car, etc. |

bagok,
We are not against debt but we are concerned the way you intend to use cc (a form of debt) to obtain assets. If you can't finance the downpayment that means you are (indicatively) living beyond your means. Believe me (or us), I have seen many falling into this spiral. Often, they say they are desperate for cash for one reason or another and would do anything to get money. This is the wrong way to plan your finances and the problem will only get bigger in the long term - it will never get "managable" or "I can do it". Just postpone your purchase of that car until you can 1. Afford the downpayment and ... 2. Afford the monthly payment, petrol, insurance, maintenance of the car. (Not to mention parking fees whereever you go) Getting into debt is easy ... but getting out is very hard. |

Thanks for the advise, i need a car urgently because my works need me to travel a lot, now im using my motorcycle for 6 month already, fyi, the car that i want to buy is used perodua kelisa, my loan can go up to 80% only, as for the monthly payment, petrol, insurance, maintenance of the car there is no problem for me since my salary is more than enough. The problem is, i just used the downpayment money for the other urgent matter. And since my company just got a project at the pulau indah, its hard to travel there everyday by using motorcycle.

bagok,
We understand your situation. The point we advise is, do not use debt (cash advance, loan, installment, etc.) for the downpayment. Since 4k is not available for now, why not continue use kapchai for a few more months to save back 4k ? |

QUOTE(feizaiII @ Apr 22 2009, 04:12 PM) Rebate will be given when the amount reaches RM20 or more on the next following month. eg if your statement for April show a rebate amount of RM25, the RM25 will be deducted from your outstanding balance the next month (May).Hope this helps. |
