A slight correction; It was suggested by the consumer right group and thus BNM is also "suggesting". But it is not an official ruling, that's why you never see the official statement from BNM as like the previous announcement. wink.gif
Anyway, shall update the 1st page.

Anyway, CIMB Bank also has dropped the interest rate to just 13.5%, as reflected in my online statement.

Yeah, have updated the 1st page.
My post was just to clarify that it's not an official "ruling" from BNM wink.gif
Just that the banks and BNM succumb to the pressure from consumer rights group as BNM had slashed the OPR to so low. nod.gif
Anyway, makes no difference for those who are transactors. But for revolvers.... rclxms.gif

Yes, a couple of them such as, Alliance bank, Affin bank, etc.

For petrol better to use petrol specific CC as you gain higher rebate.

p/s - look at my signature.

It depends on whether or not the store have tied up with the bank for this sort of installment scheme.
So you have to ask them 1st before buying.

I pump Shell petrol, so DirectAccess is best now, but promotion end in April.

If taken out petrol usage, then ..

Monthly spending RM1.00 to RM800.00, best card is Shell Citibank Gold Credit Card at cash back rate of 0.75%.

Not really worth the rebate if there are annual fees higher than what you've rebated...

Annual fee can be waived by calling to the bank's CS

CIMB Petronas is free for life, 1st year no condition, subsequent year spent 12 times will automatically waive, don't care how much you spent

I personally love to collect point, at least you can see what u get, for cash rebate we only see they helps deduct our monthly statement.

Currently crazy with Maybank AMEX card, it is awsome 8x point!!

Not quite true. As far as i know, it is extremely hard to waive a co-branded credit card.

Negative. CIMB Petronas is free for life with absolutely no string attached. It will still be free if you never use the card until it expires.

All I want to say is that most of card that offer good cash rebate on petrol do not offer a very good cash rebate for other purchase.

Yup ...agreed.
No such card offers best offer for everything. You need to hold a minimum of 2 cards from 2 different banks to enjoy best petrol cash rebate and cash rebate for other purchases. IMHO - CIMB Petronas /DA or MBB Petronas for Petrol rebate and Alliance Bank Cash Rebate credit card for cash rebate purposes.

(I hope the above statement will detract anyone from ever asking "What is the best card to recommend for everything?")

No need to have account with them. The most important thing are your annual income is above their min limit & good credit record.
