Heatiness is a traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis. LOL! Most Chinese would know it.

Basically means your body is getting heaty, dehydrated.
You feel the heat comes from inside your body, not the heat from outside (sun, weather, sauna).
Being heaty for too long will lead to fever, catching a cold, nose bleeding, sore throat, coming down with flu (if serious enough), etc.

How to deal with it? Eat cooling foods like watermelon, drink lots of water, shower, drink Cantonese 'leong cha', coconut water.

I wouldn't mess around with myostatin, I doubt it can be efficiently employed.

Like whey protein, if it's legal and safe then why not? Haha.

I made a search about myostatin inhibitors and I found this:

From Reuters Health Information
New Muscular Dystrophy Agent Appears Safe

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Mar 24 - MYO-029, a neutralizing antibody to myostatin, appears to be a safe agent for treating muscular dystrophy, the results of a phase I/II trial suggest.

Except for some skin reactions with the highest doses tested, MYO-029 showed good safety and tolerability, the findings indicate. Whether MYO-029 has any clinically meaningful effect, however, remains to be determined.

Aside from corticosteroids, which provide only modest benefit to some patients with muscular dystrophies, there are no treatments that improve muscle strength, according to the report in the Annals of Neurology for March.

Myostatin is an endogenous inhibitor of muscle growth, and therefore could serve as a target for therapies aimed at improving muscle mass and strength. In studies of immunodeficient mice, treatment with MYO-029 has been shown to increase muscle mass by roughly 30% over a 3-month period.

In the current study, a research team led by Dr. Kathryn R. Wagner, from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, assessed the safety of MYO-029 in 116 patients with Becker muscular dystrophy, facioscapulohumeral dystrophy, or limb-girdle muscular dystrophy.

The subjects were randomized to receive the drug at one of four doses (1, 3, 10, or 30 mg/kg) or placebo. The treatments were administered intravenously every 2 weeks for 6 months, with follow-up for a further 3 months.

Cutaneous hypersensitivity was observed with the 10- and 30-mg/kg doses. Otherwise, MYO-029 appeared safe and well tolerated.

No significant improvements in muscle strength or function were noted, but the authors emphasize that the study was not powered to assess efficacy. There was, however, radiographic and histologic evidence that MYO-029 improved muscle size in some patients.

"This trial supports the hypothesis that systemic administration of myostatin inhibitors provides an adequate safety margin for clinical studies, and these inhibitors should be evaluated for stimulating muscle growth in muscular dystrophy," Dr. Wagner's team concludes.

Ann Neurol 2008;63.

I've been taking whey at least twice a day for the past 3 years and I've never experience this "heaty"-ness.

You know, all that cow ever did all his life was stand around and munch on grass. Barbells are to be a thing of the distant past.

An article about heaty & cooling food.

Personally, i've also noticed that taking whey or eating meat will increase my body temperature, but its only really noticeable at night.

The only reason it would be bad is because of poor ventilation because air conditioning works best in enclosed areas. If the ventilation is good this shouldn't be a problem at all.

Cold air is fine for training. My friend runs marathons in the cold winter weather. I train with open windows in UK gyms that run colder than Malaysian air conditioners.

isglory,
No one bothers to answer because it's a non-issue. LOL!

How about working in 35 deg celcius heat during the summer without air cond?

Your coach is nuts. Lets not forget that during winter, the temperature can drop to below zero in some places. Not good for health, I hear your coach say?

It's really no big deal.

Played a little football in sub-zero temperatures before. Hooo, it tortured my breathing. Panting and ice cold air don't go well together. That aside, hell was it fun! biggrin.gif

It's probably irrelevant to most of you, but the place with the best air to workout in is First World Fitness, Genting Higlands. Open the sliding doors behind the Smith machine a crack and the freshest, coolest, moistest mountain air fills the gym. Wonderful. You can even have a pre WO cappuccino at a Coffee Bean. Too bad they don't have barbells.
