QUOTE(JohnMax @ May 26 2009, 07:19 PM) Hai~ B777 is an advance aircraft and the system now trying to understand. Who have it type? Ah~ ARINCs. I remember how much headache those things gave me when i'm trying to figure them out. ARINC 629, 429.... But i only know the basics of ARINC 429 tho. All i know about ARINC 629 is that it's the improved version of ARINC 429 and especially designed for B777. |

I think MIAT’s EASA Part-66 program is like a postgraduate program. Because they (MIAT) only target those who already have their degrees or diplomas and wanting to pursue a career in maintenance.
And you won’t get LWTR from EASA. You’ll get an EASA license/approval. Only Malaysian DCA gives out LWTRs. If you have EASA license, then you can go work in the EU i guess. You have to convert the license if you wanna stay working here tho. |

thanks for ur reply hirari,
im a degree graduate in aerospace engg.. The way I see it, I have 2 options if i wanna do a/c maintenance: a) APR is offering TAME for 3 yrs (which I assume gives LWTR if I pass da exam at the end of da 3rd year) or B) Join MIAT EASA program n get their approval. (2 years study + 2 years work schedule) The APR course is shorter period compared to MIAT. Can DCA LWTR be converted to EASA license? whats da process? i think oni midle east recognize DCA LWTR rite? if DCA LWTR can be converted to EASA, i better join APR, shorter period..lolz |

Er, EASA can convert to DCA. Must attend the exam air lesg.
Never heard before DCA convert to EASA. EASA you mostly can work work wide! DCA only selected area only. Both also not easy eh. |

I don't think our LWTR can be converted to EASA license.
At least EASA exams don't have orals. |
