---Secawan Kopi dan Sepinggan Pasta from Thread V3---

First of all welcome to this official thread for Celcom Broadband, a wireless broadband via 3G service. This thread is a place where all Celcom Broadband subscribers gather be it to show off their speedtest results or to rant. If you have anything related to Celcom Broadband which you would like to discuss on, do not hesitate to post it in here.

The Official Celcom Broadband Thread Guideline :
1) Do not spam especially with a zero value post. Example "Today's speed is bad", if you would like to say the speed is bad at least provide a screenshot of a bandwidth test result.
2) Do not treat this as a Kopitiam topic, serious offenders will be given a warning.
3) No flame baiting be it starting a flame bait or joining.
4) There are at times posts related to downloads via P2P programs, discussions on this must not go over the limits especially discussing on illegal/copyrighted materials.
5) Do not use any vulgarities or profanities. Action will be taken if you are found to have used any vulgarities or profanities.
6) Celcom Broadband agents and resellers are not to promote in here.
7) Last but not least, be friendly and make this place a better one for everyone. smile.gif

.:Easy setup to connect to the Internet:.
Once you install the modem software and driver, all you need to do is set the below particulars in the modem dialer software.

APN : celcom3g
Number : *99#

Having frequent disconnection? All you need to do is open Command Prompt and type ping www.yahoo.com -t (for example) to keep your connection activity active.

-----

Side note : Celcom currently apply the 5GB monthly data bandwidth quota. If the user passes 5GB, their connection automatically reduced to slower speed. (in bolded and red-colour statement below)

QUOTE
In clarifying your concern on Fair Usage Policy, we wish to share with you that Celcom takes customer experience very seriously and we have implemented the 5G Fair Usage Policy to ensure all customer enjoy the services equally.

Customers that exceed the set 5GB allocation will not be charged extra currently. They can still enjoy their connectivity however Celcom reserves the right to manage the customers speed to a lower bandwidth.

Similarly, the speed will continue at the reduced speed allocation until the end of that particular calendar month. On the first day of each month, customer's bandwidth allocation counter will be reset to 0 and their speed will be reset back to their original subscribed speed.

Based on customer's current package, if they have subscribed Celcom Broadband Advance (3.6Mbps), the speed will reduce to 128 kbps and if they have subscribed Celcom Broadband Basic (384 kbps) the speed will then reduce to 64 kbps.

Roughly 5 gigabyte is about 1200 songs in MP3 format, or 5 two-hour movies, or 10,000 content rich websites like www.yahoo.com.

Additionally, we noted your invaluable feedback regards to 'Fair Usage Policy' with utmost concern and the issue has been extended to the appropriate department for their deliberations.

It is hoped that the above could clarify the situation.

It was a pleasure serving you and we wish to extend our heart-felt thank you for your continued patronage and contribution to Celcom.

Best regards

For Kuching people, especially who lives near or inside Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.

They already built a new tower at Taman Desa Ilmu (behind Everrise) to increase the available traffic, and also handle future traffics. The new tower will serve the customer early next year.
Pick a package that suits you. Recommended using any unlocked HSDPA modem, or any 3G-enabled phone as well. If you still 50/50 to subscribe, you can try other service first.

-Hmm, since last 2-3 weeks I always get "Connection Interrupted" (Firefox) errors, and sometimes "Service not available" (red/blue 'banners') from Celcom server.

-Since last night until this morning, only get around 15-20% of speed. But when I'm nearly finish & off my laptop around 7.30am, I saw the speed went up to 40%. FYI, I use Windows Task Manager's Networking tab to monitor my bandwidth/network activity.

Congrats to V4, but apparently it's pretty true about the disappointment of Celcom broadband which comes up to be worse than narrowband or even dail up sometimes for some users out there.

Guess we'll have to sit and wait it out the better infrastructure of the telecommunication services for us in Msia~

14 days after my report to MCMC, I finally got some answer from Celcom, in fact 2 calls from them. Currently, Celcom is facing network congestion and unable to cope with the volume of users. They are upgrading and expect the turtle speed connection until March 2009 as informed to me. cry.gif . The good news is I am now assigned to a dedicated personnel from Celcom and gave me a direct line to call her. No more crap from Celcom Careline and my connection is quite good till now. rclxms.gif

just bought xpax (RM15) today, activate unlimited RM6/day then upgrade at celcom branch to 128k 3G sim (RM5) to test.. average 30kByte/s at cheras area

now using HSDPA but slower than the turtle 3G.. signal full bar but frequent disconnections

called 1111 to send me the 3.5G APN but they said system problem, a tech will call me tomorrow, HSDPA APN = celcom3g ??

weird thing is i can use any APN to access

Kuching/Kota Samarahan user here. Not much improvement on my side because got .130 which is specifically for capped user. I didn't use more than 5 GB this month and they put me in capped list. doh.gif

If you feel slow on downloads, do not upgrade the package just yet. Plus, this broadband is not suitable for online games because of high latency. You need to go for wired.

Hi,
I'm D98 user from Kuching. The speed is okay, but you'll easily hit 5GB cap. The lantency between D68 and D98 are the same (unless you're saying that your area do not have HSDPA, then also no point going for D98). My torrent speed can reach 100kBps during uncap, but now my speed is 10kBps (cap at 128kbps by Celcom).

-I'm using that package; but currently no streamyx for me because of stolen telephone cable - 'conveniently' just after I registered for this... sweat.gif (I migrated my existing streamyx into this package).

-BTW, it's a streamyx 1Mbps (RM88) + Celcom BB D68 (RM68) combo. For RM108 together, it's really saves you some money la. Except for me, I'm paying RM54 (RM108÷2=RM54) for already 7 months now, because of the unavailability of streamyx. So, not bad getting 20.5% discount for the sluggish D68 brows.gif (but this is after countless hours of calls to 1111 and 'visits' to Celcom branch la...)

My torrent speed can reach 100kBps during uncap, but now my speed is 10kBps (cap at 128kbps by Celcom).

thanks for the feedback guys! smile.gif my area has HSDPA living in Stampin/Hua Joo Park area lasted i checked on the celcom website. i dont do torrents download and what not, i just surf and watch youtube, and most of the time i just use to connect to my ps3 to play online, so far it's do-able, i cant complain much, as long i'm able to play online wit abit of lag i dont really mind, because the only way i can get wired connection is wit TMnut, and Tmnut is begin a real nut.

they give me so much BS wit my telephone pole, my neighbors have telephone line and all..just that the last pole they installed in my area is a few meters too far from my house and they cant connect a line to my house, and whats worst they only told me after 4monts of waiting for the answer that they rejected my application! mad.gif

the only way for me is wireless BB, what can i say dry.gif...so what we all saying here is, no matter what plan i use D68 or D98, its gonna give me the same performance on online gaming despite a more bigger data volume transfer in download and upload speed?

btw can i just upgrade my plan through online? or must i go the celcom center to upgrade it..thanks again guys! notworthy.gif

u can do nothing about it. using bc with celcom bb makes things worst. the minimum upload is 10kB, which for capped users d68, u have only 8kB max. look for other client that give the option to lower upload rate.

(Side note : Celcom currently apply the 5GB monthly data bandwidth quota. If the user passes 5GB, their connection automatically reduced to slower speed.)

Why didn`t celcom tell or inform me when i sign for this package. now i`m getting hsdpa with damn low speed. thinking of terminating celcom broadband and opt for digi for stable con.
feel like i`m being cheated by celcom with a superslow, unstable con.

Unfortunately, Sialcom states it in its Fair Usage Policy but not in the advertisements. Common sales trick. Moreover, the word "unlimited" is misleading. After 5GB limit, the connection speed is reduced drastically and there are constant disconnections at night, probably done to "sabotage" users who leave their computers to download. I dun see why this "unlimited" package is unlimited at all.

Too bad that the upcoming package with unlimited Fair Usage Policy only works with 18-month contract. After what I have gone through with Sialcom service for last few months, I am very reluctant to sign with any sort of contracts. Their operation method is just too shady. Perhaps, this upcoming package would have constant disconnections and problems in order to reduce the bandwidth usage. Of course, these all are done for the sake of "upgrading"...

they have to come up with new package FAST before DiGi launch their 3G package with voice plan combined into one SIM card. I'll wait for DiGi 3G promotion then consider whether to remain with the never-ending-ever-upgrading Celcom 3G or the Always Smart Yellow Duck DiGi 3G...

not quite true also bro. when im in UNITEN right now i cant fully connect or online for more than 2 hours without DC or sometime not even 40 minutes. or sometime i cant enjoy HSDPA but UMTS instead for the price i pay HSDPA. however, when im back to my 'kampung' in kelantan, i cant even enjoy 3g but GPRS instead. so, u figure la this SIALCOM service. im going to maxis in 2 weeks time since im not in any contract with sialcom. right now still looking for NO CONTRACT maxis subscription without modem. hmm.gif

not quite true also bro. when im in UNITEN right now i cant fully connect or online for more than 2 hours without DC or sometime not even 40 minutes. or sometime i cant enjoy HSDPA but UMTS instead for the price i pay HSDPA. however, when im back to my 'kampung' in kelantan, i cant even enjoy 3g but GPRS instead. so, u figure la this SIALCOM service. im going to maxis in 2 weeks time since im not in any contract with sialcom. right now still looking for NO CONTRACT maxis subscription without modem.  hmm.gif

Good luck with Maxis Broadband bro, which goes with 3GB fair usage policy.

Lolx! 90% of user here not happy/sick with celcom, should we all pull ourself out from celcom? If u like to suggest whats others should do and dont bother bout whats problems they facing; i hope u keep ur mouth shut for God sake. Your post/craps making me more headache.

Btw, i guess we all here know whats should we do minus your 'brainless' suggestion.

Wow.. 90% tho.. If really 90% Celcom will terminate their broadband service. Among all, I think you're the only one who complaint so much. This and that, bla bla. Just switch yourself to the "Smarter choice" as you wanted for so long.

Shut up? Nono. This is a open forum, if you feel my post is offensive, report me! Then mod will give me a warning, then i'll shut up! icon_rolleyes.gif

I can say that your post is craps too, and you're make me sick. So can you pls shut up for God's sake?

Btw, I confirmed we all here know what should we do minus your "!d!0t!c" posts.

I think dedicated wireless modem works alot more better then Phone..
Why not get those 'USB' HSDPA modem? Nowdays those modem a great bargain! (Start from >RM250) smile.gif

If you want to terminate the contract package, you have to pay the penalty + normal monthly charges during termination at celcom branch. smile.gif

torrenting is good since they applied 5GB limit. it's a fair share among the rest of us.
as for bt client, u have to trial n error by urself. just keep track of your up n down.

Since urs is just activated, it is normal to see the speed so fast. But once u used 5GB bandwidth, u wont probably get that kind of speed anymore. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Hi,
I use utorrent. If uncap, I can reach 100kBps. Currently capped at 128kbps, and my torrent speed is around 10~14kBps.
You have to do the appropriate setting to get optimum torret speed.
Seeders quantity and quality also play an important role too!

hard to say which client is better. probably all are similar. the difference is getting a popular torrent to dl (those with alot of seeders and leechers) like those tv series heroes, prison break etc and axxo movies.

ps. usually i select port 16xxx as the listening port to dl. smile.gif

QUOTE(yfchin2 @ Nov 28 2008, 09:54 PM)
looks like data unlimited daily is much faster am i correct???

yes and no. daily unlimited is hsdpa speed.
'when it work' got 2.2mbps but most of time got 'you are not authorised to view this services' & 'the retrived code is not listed'.

Added on November 29, 2008, 8:38 ampenang server and p1w1max have lowest ping.

My speed is kinda bad at the moment, around 200kbps only. sleep.gif Switching between HSDPA and UMTS, I suspect they are doing something at my side. At least surfing is quite smooth, so no big fuss I shall make. smile.gif

I still like streamyx. Being using streamyx at home, but now my area no telephone line, so mus resort to bb, so celcom bb is the only choice in sarawak with better coverage. But with the cap thing, it broke my heart. In two days already use around 350-400mb. How to limit oh???

Anyone have a problem with Celcom 3G automatically "kicks" u from HSDPA? I have been getting it for like 20 times in last couple hours. I have been capped. Yet, they wanna "upgrade" me even better to oh-so-fast GPRS. Now I am surfing the net using GPRS... WOW!!!! I tried making only 3G connection but no luck. And my 3G signal is 4 bar. So I am not sure wad happen but this is certainly killing me!!! Celcom 3G (Gprs, Gprs and Gprs).... ROX!!!

Finally I have terminated this Celcom Broadband. My new place is in basement so there is almost no signal at all. Switched to Time Netlynx and quite satisfying with it.

But, the thing is, I have to with 4 months (Yes, It's 4) to get my deposit back!!! vmad.gif . Last week, I called to the customer service and asked for the deposit and they said I have to wait that long because that is the PROCEDURE. Man.. I was like.. "WTF??!". Some more, they said my line is currently suspended (Not terminated yet) and only after 4 months later, it'll become terminated.

Honestly, I have had enough harassment from Celcom but yet.. I still have to. I thought it would be over once I submit the termination form.

So, my advice is, if is there any foreigners here thinking to subscribe this service, you better think twice or ask your local friends to use their IC.

OK guys.... from tomorrow onwards, I'm gonna start using U-Mobile HSDPA service. Good-bye my beloved 3-year old Celcom 3G. It's truely a great 3-year experience with Celcom HSDPA.

As shown above, connecting to LA server is what U-Mobile have promised...up to 3.6Mbps...this test has been stable for more than 6 hours... and torrent wise... i'm downloading like no one's business.... long live U-Mobile HSDPA!!! ... and it's way cheaper than Celcom D98 plan...

hello there, im a new celcom broadband user and usually i use the streamyx fixed line package with the speed of 1.0MBPS but since i am traveling a lot right now. East to West Malaysia and back to west malaysia. I register with the Celcom Broadband since i get a lot of good comment on it from my friends.

But after using it for like 2 weeks, i was unable to download my torrent file which is mainly music video and photograph album of scenery. Is it because of the broadband or do i have to tweak my connection for torrent? Im using BITCOMET btw.

Also i am not able to download from Rapidshare and Megaupload, Why is that? i get the message my download limit exceed and i downloaded a file which i dont.

There are also certain website i wasnt able to get into such as Gamefaqs.com and Gamespot.com. Sometimes I can only enter it during the late night here at Sabah. Why is that?

Also im using the default modem by celcom and using the package that paid rm98. Should i change the modem to get a much better connection speed? Is there any recommendation of what type of modem i should be using to boost my speed? And where can i buy it at KL? Any other stuff should i buy to boost the connection speed? Im currently using it on my laptop.

my modem is E220 USB MODEM.

Im sorry to trouble you guys but i have been to many websites already researching to boost my connection and get something better out of it. So any comment would be appreciated and thank you for taking your time to read this.

p/s: Currently in Sabah but will go back to Shah Alam around end of December.

celcom had done the similar promotion earlier this year. same with maxis that was RM 98 for 3g package with free usb modem or RM 128 for hsdpa pacakge with free modem, tied with 24 months contract.

personally i would rather go and buy a usb modem and subscribe to the broadband package itself.

Congrats... I am looking forward for my start of billing cycle. Perhaps that's the only time I like Celcom. After 5GB, well, we all know wad happen after that... Unlimited yet limited by speed. Now I shall get back to my 128Kbps world and slowly choke myself with frustration.

Well, for some days, 166MB is ok. But when I have to get TV series or korn, I ended up using like 8-10% of 5GB. *sigh*

BTW, is Celcom Huawei E220 SIM-locked? I may wanna try Maxis for abit. See whether it is better. U noe, try my luck. Let's hope the grass is greener on the other side. Or "bluer"??

Hi everyone,

-I'm using Celcom D68 and trying to access Windows Update to update my Windows XP system(s), but getting error 0x80072F76 instead.

-I get the same error when trying to update Windows Defender; and C:\WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate.log also have many lines with 0x80072F76 errors too (Automatic Updates cannot access with the same error number).

-Trying to ping update.microsoft.com and www.microsoft.com resulted in "Request timed out". I suspect this maybe DNS server issue, so I changed to OpenDNS but still face the same problem (request timed out). Checking with OpenDNS cache server revealed that there's no problem on their side.

-I'm getting this error since last week. Anybody also experiencing the same issue? Please help, thanks.

Regards.

P/S: I could surf *.microsoft.com and other websites, ping to Google, Yahoo, Lowyat, etc., update AVG, and pretty much everything (except some ports for IRC XDCC blocked...).

From your problems, it seems your modem already connected to the internet, BUT it can't receive any data. It also happen to me before. All you need to do is keep on reconnecting till you able to ping any websites. smile.gif

Hi,
Currently no. But, there will be package with unlimited usage. Seach for Mr Cola in this thread for more info. Personally, I think the source is very reliable, just not sure when it will be offered...

Hi Guys,
Just in case you guys never seen P1 fair usage policy. Below is the link:
http://www.p1.com.my/wimax/aspx/wimax_faq_ref.aspx#Usage

I find that the policy is quite fair as compare to Celcom BB. I hope someone from Celcom can "copy" P1 policy.

Ive cancelled my celcom D98 yesterday, using for 4 months ,occasionaly will have its issues usually on monday and tuesdays ,other than that its fine,BUT for the past one month it has BEEN terrible, there was a time i could not even google for 3 days in a row. I cant do any browsing on weekends , speed doesnt go any higher than 700kbps on speedtest. 1 month was my boiling point and i coulnt take it.Ive switched as of 12/1/08.

Celcom starts acting up again. I got kicked out from HSDPA to GPRS after every 5-10 min. I tried switching to 3G only but no use. Nothing ever worked. The last time I got this, it lasted for 3 days. Now it started again. Does anyone experience the same problem?

This is what I face before.

They keep acting blur and no logging report. So no need to work extra.

Before that, it said got conversation record for customer service improve but it seem no use at all.

That is why I terminated Celcom for 2 months.

The worse of celcom is they block most of the port.

True...those stuffs are blocked by their firewall vmad.gif

But if youre downloading legal stuffs, then the download speed will be fast indeed at 10Mbps ! I keep my celcom broadband for P2P stuffs.

-What method of connection you are using? If using dial-up type, you can select "Redial if line is dropped".

-If wireless network type, I'm sure it'll automatically reconnect back (Windows XP SP2 and above & Windows Vista).

-If using proprietary software, I'm not sure (it depends). What software you're using?

Now I know can not trust the bandwidth test to justify the performance.

Even with good speed does not mean it will be respond good.

Since Celcom force all having a same IP, use 1 big pipe and get 1 million user .

Traffic Jam always and pay toll. So call highway but with speed limit (broadband with 5GB)

if you using mobile partner (for huawei modem) you can track the monthly usage and network activity. Just like picture displayed below.

Yup, After 5GB limit we still able to online*/download with a much lower speed sad.gif
D68 = 64kbps
D98 = 128kbps

*But most of user here notice that after 5GB limit usage, they hardly online and most the time get 'connected' but 'can't online' at all sad.gif

I'm sory i don't use that modem and Celcom itself dont offer how to check our total usage sad.gif
-My modem (Sony Ericsson MD300) keep record all my usage, when my Billing date reach i'll reset it back to 0kbps and let it start count for the rest of the month.

Celcom Fair Usage Policy state that max 5GB including all Upload and Download data usage per month (Include almost everything u do online)

Cheers.

Cheers.

if that is the case then it sure very fast reach limit even just surfing and IM rite ? is this still consider Unlimited ? cause normally i always on IM

Ah! When is your billing date? >_<~
Yup, After 5GB limit we still able to online*/download with a much lower speed sad.gif
D68 = 64kbps
D98 = 128kbps

*But most of user here notice that after 5GB limit usage, they hardly online and most the time get 'connected' but 'can't online' at all sad.gif
p/s: Correct me.

that's bad.mite as well say limit 5gb then cannot use rite laugh.gif

if go complain to nearest branch will help?
cuz am gonna get it soon. 1 week can reach 2-3 gb dhaha

Complaint to branch will never help... They will give you reasons and reasons why they need to cap at 5GB.
After you reach 5GB, you still can dl, torrent and browsing. Just the speed is slower. E.g. my torrent speed (after capped) is around 11kBps.

u won't know until u try it LOL
It really depends on locality as well as ur luck basically... Network fluctuates and it's you urself to judge whether u can live with that or live without internet / get an alternative...

Best is get a NON-contract package and terminate when u feel that u had enough / found a better solution.

actually i don't mind slow connection as long as i am still able to read and reply emails.. i don't download big files anyway.. but not being able to load a simple webpage.. it's really unacceptable.. if this problem persist, i'm going to terminate the service..

For the past few days, 3G service at my home got problem. When the HSDPA signal switched to 3G, 0kbps dl. Voice plan also doesn't work. Strange thing is the 3G signal shows full bar...
Called the technical team, and they can't find any problem with the network. However, on the day they check, my 3G signal back to normal. Strange, right?

i flashed the firmware into my modem d. have to uninstall the driver before update. after updated the firmware can unplug and replug the modem, then install the new driver. so now the mobile connect program no more showing celcom broadband word lol. don't worry still can connect to the celcom network and work fine smile.gif

Added on December 10, 2008, 3:54 pmpg's connection not bad. but at some times i can receive signal but no received packets lol

you need to ask the forumer who lives nearby your area. You need to pick RM 68 as starters and testing purposes before you subscribe RM 98

I faced the same problem too few days ago. My conclusion is 3G network got problem (GPRS and HSDPA is okay). That's why when your modem switch to 3G signal, you can't surf anything. The 3G signal is full bar, but can't online and also can't make any call or sms!!! Calls and sms can only be made in GPRS mode, and Online can be made in GPRS or HSDPA mode...

Sure can. I'm also new in this proxy things biggrin.gif
First of all, u go to this site
http://www.publicproxyservers.com/page1.html
or google for any "free proxy" site

then u select any one of the IP/port listed.
copy the IP/port to ur download manager option.
i'm using IDM, there's an option "Proxy", where u can enter the IP and port number.
different download manager also got such option, i think sweat.gif

then u try to Start download ur RS files. if ur download running, then the proxy works.
but if it doesn't, u try another IP/port from that site. actually, is trial and error sweat.gif
hopefully, u got lucky and find the proxy that works laugh.gif
hope u can understand my explanation laugh.gif

Unlike the previous 2 nights whereby there are no receiving packets at all...

But the problem now is it keeps on disconnecting...

Anyone staying in Tmn Desa is not facing the same problem like mine?

i found that the only way to keep your connection alive is downloading a torrent.
if u afraid to reach the 5GB limit, just set the download/upload to 1kB/s only. brows.gif

Yup. the only good thing about celcom bb is no contract which you can terminate anytime.
But the 5gb thingy is too little la..5gb only...aduh. the most headache thing is after capped...the speed is soooo slow until can barely surf net....reduce half the speed of 384kb still considerable...but 64kb really BS...just feel like dial-up doh.gif

Dun get conned? The 5GB limit is still officially mentioned in celcom website. If it's true they have removed this clause, why not update the site accordingly : http://www.celcom.com.my/cep/xresources/ce...band/index.html (Go Fair Usage Policy, Clause No: 5) mad.gif

oh lol? This is the first time I heard about the 5GB limit. Thankfully I am only using the RM99 one to surf on the go or when my streamyx is down, thus I doubt I will go near that limit lol

Ur modem is Huawei 160 USB modem right?
I guess the setup process is the same as E220 and it come with Mobile Connect software hmm.gif

Firstly, u just plug in the modem to ur computer, the software inside will automatically run (autorun).
Once completed, open the "Mobile Connect" software and go to Settings > Network Connection Settings

Creat New connection, put *99# in "Authentication Number", choose 'static' and key in celcom3g under "APN".
Just leave other setting as it is. laugh.gif

Since I always use Celcom Broadband Daily for my phone sim card, early this month i subscribed to celcom broadband rm98 for the same sim card. Later, i bought a k3520 modem from andrewdavid to use it with the sim card. I live in Masai, Johor where hspda 5 bars is common. The weird thing is, why does my speedtest.net never goes beyond 384 kb/s?

user posted image

What's the use of subscribing to d98 if i only get d68 speed? mad.gif

another thing, the first time i set up the 'Mobile Partner' software for my k3520 modem, i didn't put 'celcom3g' in the vpn box (set to 'dynamic' vpn), but i still can connect. later, when i realize about the vpn, i put 'celcom3g' as the vpn & guess what... it still connect BUT at a slower speed rclxub.gif . Now, i always set the vpn to default 'dynamic'. yeah, & still the fastest i can get in this 5 bars hspda area is 384 kb/s vmad.gif .

lefty can u configure your software setting to connect to hsdpa/umts "only", instead of hs/um "preferred". we'll all try to settle this matter.

what s/w dyu use? what modem?

this is for your referrence. mine is blue cube usb modem. i just run it and let it sit in tray. then i use xp internal network connections dialer. by this way, it can configure it to auto-connect if line dropped (my dialer does not have that function).

it still the same. u need modem software like zte mf622 umts only or hsdpa only
hsdpa/umts "only" mean no gprs/edge
umts/hsdpa 'preferred' mean umts/hsdpa if available than change to gprs/edge.

ya i've notice that too. but that rarely came if u have a stable connection between ur modem and the tower (like 3 bars signal or more). my best guess is, u have a huge distance to the tower.
also if u get capped, it's more pain in the tooot.
anybody else can help this one?

haha warez-bb also banned my ip (*.130).

But the sickest thing is, my connection is totally worst when dloading file from rapidshare. My connection has been capped even tough they juz uncapped me just for about 2 weeks. I didn't dload any much though. Celcom kinda sux right now. Planning to apply P1 Wimax.

Btw, how to check if i still got contract with celcom or not? coz i'm paying RM98 to celcom every month (D98 package) and i registered my celcom broadband at some reseller at giant.

I think I had some contract with the seller. Does it count? Hard to explain woo!

to be simple, can we check if i want to terminate my celcom services, they will penalized me or not?

Does that mean they just block the IP address? or block the user acc permanently?
Can access the site, or any other blocked site if i use proxy?  icon_question.gif

Normally they only block the IP address, but not the account

If anyone having problem accessing several sites, try using proxy.

y_owez, I went to celcom branch satok a few weeks ago, bringing my laptop together due to my report of slow speed. And what they say? My datacard is the main problem of this slow speed. i test their sim card also facing the same problem. They didn't admit that this problem is from their side. sleep.gif

Guys, anyone knows if the 7 days money back guarantee (Celcom 3g broadband advance - no contract, RM98) is really true? I plan to return the 3g SIM card and cancel.
I have until Wednesday to cancel.

Never mind and thanks... done cancelling/terminating this celcom broadband 3g. They will send the check to refund the 'left over' or unused money via check.

It's pretty okay. Usually, during college days, the line will cmpletely congested which it'll make your connection really clow.

If still in 7 days period, kindly go straight to celcom branch, bring your laptop (if got) and show your speed to them.

If u buy without the contract, without the modem, only need to pay RM68 upon registration laugh.gif
That RM68 is for the registration and the first month payment.
U can buy the modem at Garage Sale, more cheaper nod.gif I bought mine there laugh.gif

Go for contractless package. You just need to pay RM 98 during registration. Modem you can get at garage sales.

I just subscribed to D68 plan few days ago without the modem so I can't test it just yet. However I did test the sim card at Celcom branch with their usb modem and it showed the connection speed is 3.6Mbps. I think the max speed for D68 is only 384kbps?

You can use the service in instant without waiting for activation as being told by the staff/agent.

Not really hard. All you need to do is go straight to Celcom branch and terminate the service. No need to cancel through agent. smile.gif

I made the online payment on Sunday morning.
Since it was the first time i made online bill payment, that night (same day), i call Celcom careline, 1111, to ask whether they receive my payment. and guess what, they receive it, the payment was a SUCCESS thumbup.gif
Ek, where to check our bill online? i dunno oo sweat.gif
