i was hving a little arguement with a fren of mine over buying apps frm da app store n getting them cracked... i kept telling him tat we need to appreciate da app if its good by buying it.. he was like waste money la bro.. is thr anyting i can tell him abt cracked apps damaging da phone or smting else perhaps |

It all depends haha. Lets see who's better in drifting then. LOL I tried if before, it doesnt lag or disconnect halfway. Everything works fine on multiplayer mode. But for Texas Hold'em, the performance in multiplayer mode is slightly slower than the single mode. |

got got. i spend countless hours before sleeping running through apps on the app store. if i can recall correctly, there is this remote wifi app which has a 28days trial, and it received backlashes from the community as it broadly claimed to be free, but it is not! of course you can. each license (or e-mail username) supports up to 5 PC/mac. mine has already been maxed out. with the exception of apps (for example movies, songs etc), you will need to transfer them manually as they do not allow re-downloads once you completed them |

hey bros, anyone know of any app that has notification when there are birthdays coming up? There is this app called Birthday List in 1.1.4 that notifies when theres a birthday coming up, but so far for the new firmware, can't find 1 tat has notification =(

Like example DAY 1 ; meal for today $10, newspaper $1, and clubbing $200. So i can input day by day basic usage and i also can view monthly how much i use or yearly too =) |

Balance is nice and simple, but you can't make it by month or by year as you wanted Louis... there is another App which is cool, PocketMoney ($9.99).
I get a chance to use this App before it turns into Paid App. it has great many many features... even some charts/statistic alike in report. check out the video here. |

I checked my very own AppStore, n found it to be just there. So, what I posted earlier may just plainly rumors

Sometimes we can't accomplished something without jailbreaking. Jailbreaking also open lots of possibilities (good and bad) for iphone. If you can live with it without JB then go ahead. It depends on one's preferences. For me, I can't live without jailbreaking my phone (although i still use the stock theme). Aisey ... what happen to your vaio? Maybe its hinting you to change to Macbook (rumors they will release new model this 14/10). |

yeah i know i'm not that great in drawing on Paint. btw, by making this kind of maze the enemy should travel further before it can enter the base. and what's more, the same weapon that shoot on the front can also shoot at the back, so by making the route filled with guns on the both side it will be effectiv attack, yet u have to only put single layer of weapon on each line. notice the dot on each corner? they r the only liquid-shooter-thingy i put on the field, but don't forget to upgrade it to the highest upgrade. haha...pardon my ugly drawing on Paint. but u should already get the idea on how i formed the tower defence. only what u can't see is the combo of the weapon. but u should already know it's gun-missile-missile-missile-gun-missile-missile-missile-liquid shooter on the corner (sorry previously i typed missile-gun-missile-gun). but let's look at this situation. when starting the game (with difficulty level at lowest, as u can't get money that fast in this level), obviously u can only put guns first (cheapest) on the front. but when u start earning money from killing enemies, build second layer of defence (as i marked blue) with only missiles. after that u can start building the combo that u prefer (i prefer 3 missile 1 gun). but just make sure the middle one is 3 missiles as it will help counter flying things. Added on October 25, 2008, 10:25 pmbut obviously u need A LOT of electric shock gizmos if playing in hardest difficulty. but it doesn't need to be placed really near. u can put it after each 4-6 towers if u like. u can try to find the most effective combo. i also follow the same up-down pattern. to encounter the helicopter, i usually build the middle tower first, then fill the way with other towers. Hard to explain this without pic, but i hope u can understand

But then the real concern is bikes as they move fast. as most resource used to build rocket and lazer, i do not long enough route to eliminate all the bikes.. Ah so Asphalt 4 supports ad-hoc network. I like the Scrabble but apparently the multiplayer mode needs an access point which is kinda pointless i feel. I don't carry a router everywhere i go!

Yeah ... i was thinking the same. We have maps (by google) and they release google earth. Then i realise ... this is just the snippet for the coming 2.2fw which is streetview. It rotate the view as we rotate the phone. Just think of it as a supplement to Maps. |

For Google Earth, I dont know about you guys, but I would turn off the autotilt function. It gets messy when you wanna navigate the globe and the thing tilting at the same time. Also try the "two finger rotate" and "two fingers swipe down". "Two finger rotate" rotates the globe on the Y-axis , while the "two finger swipe down" drops your altitude from the satellite view to a more landscape bird's eye view.

the only advantage which i can currently think of (this google earth) is obtaining the immediate GPS coordinates of your current location (without the need of InstaMapper)

Compare Google Earth and Earthscape. I preferred Earthscape which you can post a photo of your location.
Another app worth download- Says Who (voice dail) much better than the old voice dail in the good old days of installer. No need to record your own voice. Wifi have to be on for the app to work. |

hmm I would say Kanji Flip and japanese flip is for those who have mastered Katakana and Hiragana....I dont think that 2 apps are helpful for basic Japanese, they are basically just cards with words on it.
I recommend Japanese, as it is a dictionary and you get to see all the verb forms, create ur own words lists, Hiragana & Katakana chart and etc, |

Just posted up review on the iXpenseIt app. I wanted to review Ocarina which I just got a few days back but as I don't play any musical instruments I think my review would phail haha... not utilising the app to its fullest. Ocarina is a really cool app though. Apart from motion tilt, we have microphone blowing feature now ;p

Actually there is Baronic... there is that new one called Strategic Assault. I just purchased it this morning since its still cheap at US$1.99. Reminds me of the original Command & Conquer or Dune ;p I'll play around with it and see if I can do a review by today.

hehe... yea I'm trying it out now. It is kind of retarded. I mean it works as an RTS but it's too basic.
Never played an RTS on Windows Mobile before... just on a pc. Come to think of it haven't played in quite a while ever since they started introducing all the fancy 3D stuff. those Apps price are like market price....
will go up n down... always have to check it some time those new 1 come out cheap, after few weeks it raise some when come out damn expensive but after some while i got 50% or more % off have to buy wisely also |

Oooh...talk about Texas Hold Em... you guys gotta try Live Poker. It looks as slick as the Texas Hold Em. It's online so you can play with ppl around the world. You have to be connected to the internet to play this game.

Just tried Guitar Rock Tour, alot better than Tap Tap ..
Less sluggish than Tap Tap .. kinda stable for me, no accidental exits .. yet .. Ocarina is amazing too .. you can view everyone's recorded songs and listens to it like in Google Map's mode .. COOL! |

yea...yea.. me too. But sometimes it is available in US app store but not in Malaysia.. Like "Yahoo One Connect; say who etc.." app, not available in Malaysia app store..hopefully it does not happen for "Need for speed undercover"

I am on Malaysia App store oo.. But i do have US app store account too.. How can we purchase app in US app store? It does not recognize our Malaysia Credit card right? If not mistaken, it will match our Credit card with the card billing address.. Correct me if i was wrong.. btw, i notice most of the games for iphone are actually a "port" from the normal handphone games, into iphone. especially gameloft games, hence the games are simple, relatively quick to finish. The only exception i really see that stands out is Star Wars. Correct me if i'm wrong? |

I guess that is actually quite right. Most of these are ported games. There are only a handful of games that were truly designed for the iPhone. (eg Fingeric). DavidGary should know more about this. He's the app/game hound heh... I can't keep up ...

Got myself Monopoly Here and Now, Rolando, Hero of Sparta, Ferrari GT Evolution, Sim City, and Real Soccer 09. Also bought the season pass for Lost Season 5, so I'm ready on that front. After Family Guy and Heroes wrapped up their seasons (7 for FG, 3 for Heroes ), cant wait for Lost to start! The best among those newly bought games? ROLANDO! |

Rolando is good except the time limit. I really hate games with time limit. Make my hand sweat.
About 3D games on iPod Touch, some games like Brother of Arms: Hour of Darkness and Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D really suffer low frame rate issues that really spoil the game experience. Surprisingly, Asphalt 4: Elite Racing and Enigmo are the only games I had purchased and really satisfied as they only suffer a minor or unnoticeable lagging issue. However, 2D platform games like Fieldrunners and Kamicrazy really great rendered in the iPod Touch 3.5' LCD. Gameplay is smooth and is definitely worth trying and purchase. Another impulse buy, X-Plane Airliner. Wasn't really gonna put much expectation on it, but HOLY FREAKING HELL, it blew my brains out! I doubt it, at this point in time, that they would drop the price. Rolando is slated for Christmas release, to take advantage of the season shopping. Also notice that Topple and other Ngmoco titles dropped price during release of Rolando, because Ngmoco KNOWS that Rolando can carry them through the winter/Christmas season sale, and that they can afford dropping price for other apps,*even giving them out for free in the case of Topple, because they are confident that Rolando will cover for those discounted price with its full retail pricetag. Also notice the trend of apps being discounted are those that hardly sell, forcing the developers of these apps to forgo their profit margin.
Trust me, Rolando is worth the current price. Believe it or not, this game is the first game that gives out that feeling that it is Made for iPhone/iPod Touch in mind, and not just a lazy port. Does anyone like games developed by GameLoft? In my personal humble opinion, most of the game which they developed have descent (not great) looking 3D graphic but they do suffer from poor frame rate. I don't think iPod Touch graphic engine is meant to carry such performance. I think I won't be purchasing any games from GameLoft in the future...

Ferrari GT Evolution and Fastlane will change anyone's mind on the 3D capabilities of the iPod Touch/iPhone. As how developers came to grips with the earlier 3D coding on the old PSOne or the PSP, there is nothing but improvements from here on.
I am more concerned with how these game developers utilising the more unique aspect of iPod Touch/iPhone like accelerometer and touch interface to create something more compelling than just "more 3D racing" or "more 3D hack and slash". Rolando is a move on the right direction in terms of how future games on this platform should move on to. Also, board games are a perfect fit for this platform as well. You cannot go wrong with them, I have so much more fun squeeze the CPU AI coffers in Monopoly than racing for first place on Ferrari. They are both two different genre of games, but maybe it is just me, I'd like some brain-picking in my games. |

I'm past the "small plane" phase, and I dont like helicopters(I consider them the ******* child of aviation), so I'd have to say the Airliner version. Remember, these are simulators, not arcade games. If you're looking into flying them like an fighter jet ace pilot, you're in for disappointment.

Any price drop on SimCity would be because another better game is replacing it as the top game to get. This may happen when Sims 3 comes out on the iPhone. The same thing will happen to other racers as well when Need For Speed comes out.
For something of that portable nature, Sim City is nothing short of awesome. Try asking any other smartphone to do what it has done on the iPhone. |

For those who have Rolando, dont be discouraged by the timer. It is not there to rush you through the levels, it is later on when you have mastered the movements of all the Rolandos that you may want to give the level a speedrun treatment. Speedrunning before the timer ends is also part of the achievement system embedded in the game. Dont forget the diamonds too!

Anyone notice that Square Enix had just released their first game for iPod Touch/iPhone? Crystal Defenders! Try out their Lite version.

Sigh, this is the second time I'm repeating this, so here goes:-
Before you format your computer, backup the iTunes folder. Bring it out, copy it out, back it up if you will. After the format, restore it back in. Do a "Add to Library" on iTunes, and the whole folder will be restored as it was before. Apps are redownloadable, so if all you have in your iTunes are apps, then wipe it clean and redownload it back again. Otherwise, to save time of redownloading them again, do as I stated above. The apps are in the "Mobile Applications" folder. |

Get both. Sim City and Rolando are two different types of games, comparing them are like apples and oranges. I have my light-hearted fun moments in Rolando, and when I'm in the mood for some serious mind-bending management good-stress time, I load up Sim City. I cannot recommend one over the other.

Daily App? I cant answer that, that depends on what you do and use on daily basis. I use Foreflight, Weatherbug, TV Forecast, Units, Remote, VelaClock, time:calc and lately, Amazon as well, seeing how I am heavily keeping tab on what's the latest new Blu-rays coming out this year end. But my needs may not be the same as yours, especially when it comes to apps like Foreflight, you wont need this unless you're in the same field as I am. The price reflects that too, since it is geared towards professional-level use. Ask the guys who rely on their medical-based apps, they pay for that level of sophistication for their iPhone apps as well. |

I have MotionX GPS app. The apps does not use WLAN or WWAN connection, it works just like your standalone jungle-trekking GPS device. You can record your tracks, and then send it over to yourself via email to see your tracking on Google Earth. Also includes the other standard GPS functions like speed, lat/long, altitude, signal accuracy, signal strength, your standard compass rose moving in real-time with bearing, bearing distance, and ETA to waypoints, even a history of your track traced out on a blank map. You can also add POIs, there are some preloaded POIs in there, mostly famous landmarks.
Ultimately, it turns your iPhone into a standalaone GPS unit, ala Garmin GPS60CSx. The only thing it is missing is a background map. I've been recording my tracking on my frequent walks to the Nasi Kukus Ayam Dara stall near my place during my evening walk, so it is fun to see the trackings I did. |

Chinese Calender (Free) For those who need a thousand years of chinese calender in their phone, nice to have one inside, include all 'ba zhi' on yours particular time. Dictionary (Free) Not much word but nice to have one within, not sure why when run this the phone becomes massive lag... Wikiamo (Free) Wikipedia in your iphone or itouch, need to be online to make sure it works. Labyrinth (Free) A nice game to play with your accelerometer. Sudoku 101 (Free) Game to fill up your bored time. |

Hi guys.
I'm having a problem downloading apps from the appstore. Everytime when i want to buy an app, i'm asked to confirm my billing info. When i click done, nothing happens. My credit have not been deducted nor the download begins. When i click again, the same annoying thing happens. Searched over the net and found that people who are using uk and canadian accounts do normally encounter this problem. I still have around $92+ in my account and this only happens when i want to download apps. Downloading music and other stuff would not be a problem. Btw, my account is a canadian itunes account. Had to make one coz the seller of the gift card sold me a canadian gift card. Any idea guys? |

By the way, I noticed that iTunes changed their T&C for the US iTunes store, saying how purchases must be made withing US etc.
I can still purchase apps off the US store but will they close my account if I continue to do so? Losing my gift card balance on that account would be tragic.. |

my friend installed it as well... no problem for him to play the game... but sometimes it will jump out to springboard.... i guess it's memory not enough or something like that |

Hmm sim city doesn't do it for me. I was a big sim city fan but the iPhone ver is too sensitive (or maybe my fingers too fat haha)
What are your favorite quirky apps? I like pocket god. The novelty wears off after a day but it's so fun to demo/show off this app to friends to try convert them to the iPhone as well. |

Not sure this is the right place for me to post this question. I have bought several apps for my iPhone 2G and plan to get iPhone 3G from Maxis. Can I have all apps that I bought/downloaded to be used on the iPhone 3G ? Which means I will have 2 iPhones using the same app I bought/downloaded. Can anyone advise ? Thanks.

Yes you can. Previously I had the iPhone EDGE and an iPhone 3G, I had the apps installed on both. Now I have the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 32GB, and doing the same too. The apps are even redownloadable free of charge, but you need your iPhone's AppStore tied up to the account that you had purchased the app in the first place.

I think there should be. Try searching in app store for it. But there might not be any free financial calculators...
just FYI, if you turn you default calculator into landscape mode it will turn into a scientific calculator. (more functions like sin, tan etc) |

I just got an app called Keep Uppy. It's pretty much like a juggling game where you would have to tap the ball and keep it up in the air for as long as possible. When the ball hits the ground, you lose. Simple as that. So instead of "kicking" the ball, you tap it to juggle it It's pretty addictive and yea, i like it a lot being a football fan myself. |

Yahoo Messenger for iPhone already available HERE.
First impression: A bit lagging and it looks like it's using the net connection constantly (i'm connecting thru EDGE and I can see the spinning wheel almost all the time). Interface look good as it's from Yahoo themselves. V1.0 so can't expect it to be perfect so will see how it mature. Summary: I still like BeeJive as it can connect to multiple chat client and have the option to "stay connected" even when i'm not in the app. Read more about it HERE    |
