Does anyone like games developed by GameLoft? In my personal humble opinion, most of the game which they developed have descent (not great) looking 3D graphic but they do suffer from poor frame rate. I don't think iPod Touch graphic engine is meant to carry such performance. I think I won't be purchasing any games from GameLoft in the future...
)
Among the games by GameLoft which I had purchased and feeling regret:
- Asphalt 4: Elite Racing (it's really all about drifting, not a pure racing car game)
- Brother of Arms: Hour of Darkness (drain up battery power real fast and suffer from poor frame rate, it's not so smooth for a FPS game)
- Midnight Pool (They tried to port it but the graphic seems to be poor. I do prefer 2D graphic that utilizes cell-shading technique. Sadly they isn't any cell-shaded pool game yet)
So far I think cell-shaded game really shines in the iPod Touch 3.5' LCD. Not only does the graphic is smooth but you can save battery time too. Below are some good example which I had purchased that is worth buying:
2D
- Fieldrunners ($4.99)
- Chopper
- Scrabble ($4.99)
- 3D Sokoban ($0.99)
- Scoops ($1.99)
- XiangQi ($0.99)
- Touch Physics ($0.99)
- Labyrinth ($6.99) (Great purchase among all!)
- Hangman2 ($0.99) (Clean user interface)
- Loops of Zen ($1.99)
3D
- Enigmo
- Monopoly: Here and Now World Edition ($7.99)
- Flick Fishing ($0.99)
- Flick Bowling ($0.99) (*Cell-shaded characters) (Really hope they can implement player statistic option to keep track on our performances). So far they only have Record option that only record the highest score for the players. Customizable characters, location and outfit would be a plus too, but sadly they didn't implement it. Midnight Bowling does offer such features but the price is kind of expensive and the loading time is very long compared to Flick Bowling. Graphic wise, Flick Bowling does offer clean and nice looking sensation.)
- Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D ($5.99) (Frame rate dropped in certain scene but it is still acceptable. Accelerometer sensitivity is customizable and is very fun to try)
