Want to ask previous UOB CC users...

Recently I'm cancel my credit card, the bank staff ask me to call back their customer service after 1 week. Just want to know did they giving you any documents (Cancel confirmation letter or something like that) as a proof when you walk in to cancel the card?
*
if u got read my previous post in last few days, u will get ur answer.

for UOB, i email them n request for the CC cancellation card.
i filled in and fax in to the CC centre.

2 days later, will have UOB staff call n verify your information to confirm the cancellation.
and it's done.

now i cant view my CC account online although i can login.

QUOTE(Reventon @ Feb 26 2009, 03:11 PM)
If you walk into their branch and submit the cancellation form, you may request a photocopy of the form from them. After your account has been successfully closed ( in the bank system ), UOB will send EACH card a closure confirmation letter to your mailing address.
*
is it? hmmm i shd takes notes on the closure confirmation letter. thanks.

HUH!!! daily ah... 1day how much interest wow..???
*
The 18% interest on the cash advance amount and cash advance fee is compounded daily until full repayment.

On a related note, according to Wikipedia, interest is calculated not only on the unpaid amount but also the entire original amount (both paid and unpaid) until the entire original amount is paid back. This applies for amounts which are past the interest-free period. Not sure if this applies to Malaysia or not.

i've record breaking waiting time from eon bank for the card around 2 months from the date i receive the approval letter. That was when visa changed it's logo few years back. Their reason is " out of visa card stock, need to wait for the new visa arriving their center " doh.gif
i suggest if you can ask them to send it to Eon bank pavilion branch, open 7 days week, as i assume your working time is same with bank, on weekend both bank and you are on leave. Alternately, you may collect it at pos laju as they do operate on sunday if i remember it correctly.
*
I agree your advise on Pavilion branch would be good too as they are on operation weekend. However what I am concerned is the card has not been returned back to them as it is already 3 weeks.

Which is why I'm abit worrying

for DA CC, i am still not undrerstand how's the interest free rate works?

Ok, lets say, my outstanding balance 100 as per current statement on 24th February, i pay full amount on the last day before due date on 13th March, do my transaction on lets say 3rd March count as interest free rate?

Interest free rate is 20days period after the statement date or after the due date?

How bout if interest free rate is 20days after statement date.. and after 14th March i'm still not paying the transaction i made on 3rd March just now, do its still count an interest?

20 interest free date is from the date of statement (provide u settled full amount of the previous month statement, in your case, your 24 Jan statement settle in full 20 days after 24 Jan), then only u can enjoy 20 days interest free of your 24 Feb statement....

your 3rd march transaction will be imposed interest if your 24 Jan statement not pay in full...if otherwise, it will be interest free as 3rd of march is within that 20 days interest free period...

correct me if i'm wrong...

Singapore Airlines.... Anyone?

New co-brand credit card

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank), Singapore Airlines and American Express have jointly launched the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer American Express gold credit card, which is expected to have 30,000 subscribers by year-end.

Maybank consumer banking head and senior executive vice-president Lim Hong Tat said in difficult economic times like these, the card “offered value” to customers.

“Co-brand credit cards are becoming more relevant these days and spending is generally 30% to 35% higher for co-brand cards compared with other credit cards,” he said at the launch of the card here yesterday.

The new card offers the best earn rate for airline miles in Malaysia and the “most attractive” savings for redeeming these miles for flights, Lim said.

For the first three months, card members will earn two KrisFlyer miles for every RM2 spent on the card.

There will also be a “welcome bonus” of 3,000 KrisFlyer miles upon the first transaction being made on the card.

To a question, Lim said Malaysian credit card spending grew by 16% last year, while for Maybank, it had grown 20%. “This year, we are aiming for a double-digit growth, outpacing the market again,” he said.

On customer payment, he said the banking group had in place an effective risk management framework among other measures to cope with payment-related issues.

*wondering, what kind of risk management framework tht MBB have le?*

he-sham, you are right based on what's written behind my DA Statement as below:

"Finance charge is also imposed on new Retail Transaction and calculated on daily rest basis from the date the transaction is posted until full repayment if the preceeding month's outstanding balances is not paid in full."

Since i usually pay in full, I never really gave any thought to gecodine question until he posted it. Look like better to use another card if got outstanding balance to save on interest for new transactions (and that is assuming you don'y have outstanding balance on the other card).

Just to share, i was bored 2 weeks ago so wanted to try blogging and ended up writting about CC which may be useful to new users of CC.
Click here to read my comments on CC, the blog is called My Credit Cards.

Thx bro.

I called to PosLaju and was informed the card has just been returned back to EON but EON claim based on their system, it is not returned yet. I guess it is just not updated and requested them to send to Pavilion branch for me to collect.

Operation 9am - 9pm daily seems to be alright for me.

I didn't remember what card I applied that time but they told me mine is a Matta Gold card

After reading some benefits on EON website. Wondering is there any further special-benefit on the card itself?

2 weeks ago i went to maybank melawati. the finance guy told me that i can transfer my balance from my classic card to ikhwan card, so i do it la since the interest is very low. yesterday, went there to collect my ikhwan card. to my suprise, i receive ikhwan card with credit limit, not balance transfered. so i cancel the ikhwan card. can i apply it again? i really want my balance in classic to be transferred since as far as i know, maybank offers the lowest rate (0.375%pm for 2 years plan)

Oh great even CIMB will start imposing 'administration fees' for overseas transactions starting from this April. Only 1% though.

I just noticed that the 1% admin fee has been showing since my Sept statement. Wonder why it took so long for any of us to notice? hmm.gif
