I noticed that many stores (e.g. Best Denki, Harvey Norman) do not accept CIMB cards for flexi-payment.
Anyone knows the reason of this? Or is it just a coincidence?

QUOTE(eviljonz @ Dec 9 2008, 11:33 AM) CIMB is sucks and yes many stores do not accept CIMB for flexi payment but some of them are CIMB merchants. CIMB only allows you to either ask the merchants to do manually which most merchant do not want to do it. Secondly, they will ask u to swipe full amount first (not installment) then make a call to CIMB to apply for flexi payment 10-20 months. Beware, if you do not prepare to pay one time interest of 3-5% which they will charge you for the flexi plan. Stupid right ? then why is it call 0% installment? I see. When I bought my laptop I opted for 0% 12-months payment using CIMB cc. And yeah it was hard to find a store that accept CIMB flexi payment. Anyway from the cc statements that I've received so far I don't see any 3-5% charge. I even asked the seller repeatedly whether it's really 0% interest, and he assured me there's none. Hopefully this surcharge won't suddenly turn up in my future statements. |

Eh, is this true? - There's always interest for cash advance, even if you pay in full the day after you withdraw the money. Or even right after you withdraw.

I need advice on the following.
Yesterday I tried to buy microsoft points from xbox.com. (think of it as a prepaid reload) The first time I tried, I got to a page saying the server is busy and my request cannot be processed. So I tried many more times (not by refreshing the page, I did everything all over again) and each time the same page that says 'cannot be processed' appears. Earlier today I received a call from PB card centre, the guy asked me whether I used my card for online purchase from Microsoft. I said yes, and I explained that everytime I tried, the transcation 'could not be processed'. To my surprise, he then told me that all 10 transactions were actually processed! I asked him to cancel all but one but he said they can't simply cancel, I'd have to ask microsoft to do that. Either that or wait for 10 days and see whether the transactions will be dropped automatically or otherwise. What's the best thing to do now? And what's with this 10 days thing? I forgot to ask the CS about it. I already informed microsoft about this, waiting for their reply. |

I think the banks have become stricter with cc application. I remember someone here saying (citing inside sources) that from next year it will be harder to apply for cc.
My friend who earns way more than me went to 2 banks recently and both ask for bank statements. One is RHB, the other is CIMB. When I applied a few months back they only ask for my salary slip. And I thought CIMB cc is the easiest to get. He actually applied for CIMB about 2 weeks ago. He went to check on the status by going directly to the bank and they asked for his statement. |

Oh great even CIMB will start imposing 'administration fees' for overseas transactions starting from this April. Only 1% though.
