Don't be a lurker then. Welcome to post here, except no spamming please.  tongue.gif  metalfreak got it right. LSD stands for Long Slow Distance. You can wiki about it.
Am going for my second Sundown Marathon this year. You registered for full or ultra? Where you from?
*
hello phoenix biggrin.gif

i registered for the full marathon, i suppose you're on the ultra? tongue.gif heard that its pretty though with the run on concrete rather than asphalt and ya by the way im from Penang biggrin.gif

and oh my current Asics is super worn out now laugh.gif need to get a proper cushioned shoe, No more Asics as the current lines are somewhat bit to heavy for my liking Saucony, Brooks seems to be ok but none of them sells in Penang sad.gif

triple02: Yeah. I'm in the ultra. I've done the marathon last year. Yes, the route is tough and it is like what you have said. Both it's an unforgetable experience. Penang Marathon is starting at 2am this year so it will be roughly the same as Sundown. Asics is a good shoe. The DS Trainer seems like a good shoe and pretty light, as one of my friend is wearing them. You can look for ccube for Saucony. If you are interested, can always courier it to you (courier fee by you).

triple02: Thanks, but salute me after the race. Right now, I just need to beef up my training. Asics DS, from the looks of it is a performance trainer/racer. Probably will last an average of 400KM or so, or I may be wrong.

triple02: You bought it at QueensBay Mall? Good shoe but I must say it's really heavy. How much you paid for it?

oh no didnt get it in Qbay but rather at their distro in Komtar. got if off for RM 470 after 20% disc, Asics are known for their cushioning and stability hence their weight but its not too bad la its lighter from what i compared to the earlier Kayano series, unfortunately cant have the best of both of worlds sad.gif i barely felt pain after i finished the 5k though you might wana compare for urself though the diff between this and the earlier series

triple02: I have not tried any Asics shoes before, thus I do not have broad idea on their technology. Though Ihave great respect for the brand and feels like trying it, it's the price that is holding me back. have yet to see the Kayano 15 but did play around with the 14 sometime back. Very solid built.
I have most likely chosen my shoe for Sundown, the Saucony Fastwitch 3, due to it's balance of comfort, cushioning and stability.

hey phoenix...not all Asics are expensive, other Asic lines like Asic GT-Series, Cumulus, Nimbus,Fortitude all are priced reasonably well though but of course to each their own, i wanted to try other brands before i got my current trainer but better stick with a brand that i know works well with me feet tongue.gif i sound so like a Asics fanboy...

Fastwitch 3 is a racer isnt it? hope it provides enough cushioning for your ultra though sweat.gif and ya what trainers ure using currently?

triple02: Yes, the FW3 is a performance trainer/ racer like the adizero series and also DS. In fact, the design between the FW3 and DS Trainer is pretty alike. The FW3 has been proven by a friend of mine at last year's Sundown ultra. One FW3 to last the entire 84KM (near to 88KM actual distance)
I have quite a few of trainers which I alternate between runs. There are the Nike LunarTrainer+, Nike Air Zoom Vomero+ 3 and adidas Response Control 7. I already retired my adidas Supernova Cushion 6 a year ago, my first running shoe and indeed was really good, even better than the 7th edition.
My racers are Saucony Fastwitch 3, Nike LunaRacer+, adidas adizero Tempo.

too bad i cant have the chance to show you Triumph 5 or Hurricane 10, and let you test out the shoe. anyhow ASICS is a good shoe, just that some of their models are starting to become very bulky recently bcos they are trying to put too much technologies into one shoe

Harlo all,

Gt a pair of Progrid Hurricane 10 frm ccube laugh.gif
Needless to say real light and breathable..
I ESPECIALLY like the arch lock feature..but i m nt too sure if the jazz12 has more cushion or this one..
but this pair is really realli comfy..

I smashed my pb for my 2 x 5km+ lap around LG with this pair tongue.gif

Thanks ccube, I hope I didn't trouble you too much..
n besides would you recomend this pair again or another for me 2nd trainer?

The Hurricane 10 is definite better in terms of cushioning and stability vs Jazz 12. Even with so much cushioning and stability, the shoe still give a very light feeling and not bulky. You may want to try out the Triumph5 or Guide as the 2nd trainer, but both model are slightly narrower. Gotta try it out to get a feel. And maybe 3 to 6 months down the road, you can go for the Fastwitch3 as your race day shoe to give u that fast feeling.
