Anyone heard about this SIVC before? I heard a presentation about it. Anyone member got any good/bad comment to share? What's the FAQ to ask before joining a vacation club?

All Time sharing vacation clubs are almost the same...lure u & sweet talk you...Once u joined them, all the promises not fulfill suc as:

1) Promised 7 days stay but din mentioned only 2 days weekend!!
2) The ever increase yearly maintenance fee...Ranging from RM270 & higher but no renovation as promised
3) U need to book early (Atleast 6-9mth in advance or else no unit available
4) After taking a/c the oppotunity cost on the advances paid, the cost per room which they said about RM70-RM90 per day actually can comes to RM100/day instead...(OK-lah but not as cheap as u expected)
5) No breakfast..u hv to buy your own so if added in the room cost probably RM150!! sad.gif

Quite true what stimix said..

HW, for Sunway vacation, u can use all ur entitlement on weekends.. but instead of having"seven nights" per year, it will become something like "three and a half nights" per year only.(pls check with them for accuracy)

Im a legend member, and our maintenance fee was only increased once for the past ten years..(so it not as bad as it may seems)Im not sure about other clubs.

the rest is as close as what stimix said..

if u can accept it ..then go for it..Timesharing fits many people... not all people. blush.gif

I think all this vacation club stuff is cheating customers. Many hidden terms and conditions. You must pre book a few months ahead. Not applicable during school holidays and so on. Very difficult to even get a room.

did she try the room booking on weekday? How's that? Is it quite limited also?
How about the oversea room reservation?

Agree with all the replier here,

Vacation Club sucks to the max, only sweet talk in the beginning.

I was Berjaya VC members, seeing lots of privileges removed and hotels sold. Staying in Berjaya Times Square requires to pay additional RM 100 a nite surcharge plus minus your entitlement.

Heard that they are removing Redang Beach Resort also (no longer available to Berjaya VC members).

If like that whats the point of joining when you use your entitlement yet you still need to pay. Sigh.

my mum joined swiss garden vacation club and now their list of hotels have become limited.. if not for the surcharge they charge.. nothing is for free actually..

I joined the club for platinum membership, paying RM10000++ by installment.

They have only 2 home resorts, Pyramid Suites & Studios and Water Chalets Port Dickson, so choices are very limited in Malaysia. So if you buy minimum 270 points, you may entitle 1 week stay at these 2 home resorts, but if you use yur point for stay at Made Available Resort like Sunway Resort Hotel, Pyramid Tower, Sunway Penang, you will only can have 2 to 4 nights stay only as vacation points required is much more for Made Available Resort compared to home resort.

But for Other International Made Available Resort, you still able to enjoy 7 nights stay with 270 points, so this is how their points system works.

It's worth if you always travel oversea for vacation, eg Phuket, Koh Samui, Bali.

I have been to Bali staying at one of the resort available for SVIC member, Jayakarta Bali Residence, located at Jalan Legian.

I was allocated with fully furnished 2 rooms apartment.

The apartment is very spacious, one master bed room with double bed and 2nd room with 2 single bed. Living area with sofa bed and dining area equipped with Kitchenette and dining table and chairs.

Two bathrooms in the apartment, big bath room features a jacuzzi & shower is attached to master bedroom.

The resort also replenished bottled water cooler for us, its's complimentary.

The good thing of oversea resort is we don't need to pay any extra surchage, as far as I understand for Berjaya Vacation member, they impose surcharge for staying at affiliated hotels.

i'm also a member in SIVC. Overall is ok i would say.
so far i only use it once in Bangkok. Room is great, big like what fuwa have in Bali. Only downside is location. But bangkok is small, so where u stayed doesnt really matters.

but one thing good for SIVC is that u can convert ur point n dump it to RCI. which they said is the largest vacation club in the world, they have thousand of hotel/resort around the world. Plus their hotel is much better (4-5stars) based on their hotel selection magazine. But i have yet to try with RCI, maybe Fuwa got experience with it.

Overall i think is good for frequent flier, downside is 7 days per year is very little..

Yeah, thanks nonadoes for the input. So, mind sharing how many years you have joined this club?

I've discussed with Fuwa too, we are both quite concern about the point system where they can increase the point required per night stay. Other than that, i think should be ok!

Other not so good thing about it is the oversea especially Europe where you need to utilise all 7 nights in one shot!

I've just joined this club, so calling all the SIVC member, let's discuss about the up/down side about this club?

Anyone approached by free 3D/2N stay in local hotels? And end up getting introduced to a concept?

Was wondering if anyone joined this Leisure Holidays Membership?

How many types of membership packages?

How much is the joining fee?

Mind to share their membership service, such as customer service, reservations approve rate?

I've never heard of Leisure Holidays Membership, not sure how good is that?

Regarding the customer service, take Sunway vacation club,it is not actually that bad, except that they really like call u a lot (eventhough you clearly indicate that emailing is your priority?)

Recently tried to book a room in French Riviera on December for August 2009, they dragged my reservation until early this year then only tell me that my preferred date got all booked up, reschedule me into another days, now have to re-plan our travelling schedule again sad.gif

recently just attended a SIVC talk, any comments whether its worth to join ?

I am from penang and planning for a trip to KL for 2 nights (3rdApril2009 - in). I can trade nights with you on any resorts that's on BVC menu (that has no extra charges), think there are still 8 of them.

customer service okey so far ..response within few days.sometimes you have to follow up frequently eventhough they said the office will call u once reservation done.
as for the early bookings, managed to book pd legend water chalet and sunway (main tower) for stay in coming school holiday early june..thank god.

overall i think sivc not too bad comared to berjaya (asked my frrien who joined it last 3 years).

I really agree with you. They use such hard selling and pressure you into a decision and they don't tell you all the facts up front. Only after you join, you realise all the problems you get when trying to book hotels and all the hidden costs. Vacation Clubs are for some people. Not for all. If you are the type that travels frequently and don't mind waiting the vacation clubs are for you. But if you don't travel much and have very specific destinations you want to go to, then it;s better to just go with tour groups. Vacation Clubs should be careful not to just sell to anyone.

Yes, We have some painful experience here too. we tried to book for the hotel in french riviera under SIVC last year, according to their website the check in only allowed on Monday. However, when we tried to book them. SIVC was telling us that it was fully booked until Sat and we are only allowed to check in on sat.

Do you know when did we trying to book? It was last year November 2008 and we are trying to book for August 2009. I think it is really ridiculus to tell the customer who book almost one year in advance that the made available resort are fully booked? Nevertheless, you will still get the room just that it is not the date that you are looking for. Mind you, if you try to book too advance, they said not yet. The schedule is not out yet. Then? What do you expect us to do? Calling you everyday to check when the schedule is coming out?

In the end, we need to re-schedule/re-plan our UK/France/Italy trip just to accomodate the stay in that particular hotel?

Conclusion is, vacation club is not that bad if you know how to utilise them. It is most suitable for flexible people like senior citizens. I'm not sure about berjaya one as i'm not berjaya timeshare member but from the information that i gathered, they are imposing lots of hidden fees.

From what i heard, SIVC is trying to increase the points required for per night booking at their made available resort but due to strong complaint, they had to settle for the old point system until further notice.

So, hdwarexpert, isn't it good for you if the fee i getting more and more expensive after few years? So, if any of you guys have extra nights to sell it off, don't hesitate to let me know...

Hi Yahiko,

I've attended Leisure Holiday 'sweet talk' too...The offer is too good to resist as i remember, you will be able to get back your money after 30years right?
Frankly speaking, i think they home resort is not in good condition..some of them are due to bad maintenance. What do you think about Perdane Beach Resort, is it ok?

i've just came back from our family vacation in bali last 2 week by using the SIVC point.. so far it works fine for me

i've joint the SIVC for 2 years, and didn't manage to book for holiday during my first year due to not enough annual leave.. however after appealing to the SIVC, they had allowed me to utilize back my first year point.. which i have use to get 2 unit apartment in jayakarta bali residence in bali for 3 days.. the place was great..

my experience for booking... it happens during the peak season of august in bali. i had tried to call almost all budget hotel at legian area however all fully booked.. i can't change the date because i've buy all flight ticket for all 9 family member.. i try my luck and sent my reservation form witihin 1 week before the travel date and i was lucky that they had process it and give me confirmation within 3 days.. it was great.. no additional surcharge required and process work smoothly for me.. i save more than rm2000 that i used it for shopping... hehehe..

maybe thats my luck... after using the first year points that i got for the 2 unit apartment for 3 days, i still have balance points enough for 2 more days accommodation plus my unused 270 points for this year...

Just been sweet talk by them this afternoon at Matta Fair KL.
Price is abt RM16K now for 7 night per yr package.
Bad point about the talk is after they talk to u, you have to decide yes or no to the package. Once u say no, they said u are not allow to join the club anymore in the future.
Not sure if others have the same experience.

Such a rude way of doing business.

I went to the MATTA fair this afternoon with my sister. Not long after that, I was attended by a girl from Leisure Holiday. I know instantly that this is not the right 'investment' for us. The girl that attended us said that there is no obligation to join after we heard their 'speech' for about 30mins (actually its over an hour). Then i asked how much is the membership fees. Then the girl said, she wanted to review all the benefits first before telling us the fees. We agreed and started listening. After she finished talking, she said she will asks for the manager to tell us the fees. Then the manager came and long story short, full membership fees RM16,000.00. Down payment RM4,800.00 after he revised the price. After we said that we don't want he kept insisting and said to me "come on laa.. be a man..." WTF? He showed his card and it stated there vice president. If his attitude as a VP is like that. I will NEVER trust my money to his company.

My advice to everyone, please don't easily get influenced by these people. RM16k is a big deal and they should not force us to make the decision on the spot. I'm not saying that it is bad and no one should not join, NO. Just keep in mind that, if this is how they treat their customers or future customers BEFORE they got the money... haih... imagine what would happen AFTER they got your money. Please think wisely.

Deqna,

How come you are so lucky? As for my case, i'm very dissapointed with SIVC. Everytime when i tried to make reservation with certain date, after taking their own sweet time, they will usually come back and tell me that the date that i wanted is not available. Do you want to try other date? Hello, i've booked my flight ticket. How do you expect me to change my itinery to suit your given date? WTF? Our last booking is French Riviera, they have written clearly in their website, magazine that minumum booking is 7days and only can check in on Monday. But when we tried to book 9 months in advance, they were telling us that, our preferred date is not available, next available date is on Saturday, what the hell? Why set the rule and not following it? Fine, finally we have decided to tolerate and accept the offer. The apartment is very very simple, do not even have a twin bed somemore, no air cond(hello, this is summer!!!!) and the worst part is need to pay for the electricity bill. I mean what is this? Is this Sunway standard?

Next experience is when we tried to book the accomodation in Phuket, previously they have 4-5 choices of hotels. Unfortunately when we tried to reserve, "Sorry, there is not longer under our made available resort!". Now there is only one hotel made available in Phuket and that hotel is also fully booked. My god, what is this? I've tried to reserve atleast 6months in advance. Their website is not updated regularly, the newsletter will be sent to us once is 6months. Next time, can you atleast send us some email to notify us about this? I mean, why do they remove most of the phuket resort, don't they know that Phuket is one of the most famous spot for vacation?

Hello sunway, i know this is not your fault, but can you atleast make sure that one of your affiliated 'Sunway Internation Vacation Club' is not performing below par too much. THanks

Haha, i've experienced that too...if you tried to negotiate the price, it will really go very very low...But i simply do not trust them!

Do you mind to share with us how much you bought the package?

I never trust all this Time sharing vacation thing, my experiences is that you will never fully enjoy the benefit promised.

For example, some hotel will allocated certain number of rooms for Time sharing only, and a lot of limitation, like only weekday only etc etc, so like you guy experienced, most of the time, you will not able to get the room you wanted.

please take note that some of the time sharing vacation plan is actually managed by third party rather than the hotel itself.

Well, in my opinion i think pay half year installment then only can take advance point is quite fair...As for SIVC, you have to pay atleast 50% of the total price then only you can utilise the points. The worst part is, in order for you to utilise the advance points, you have to pay the maintenance fee in advance too....:'(

Wow, relek bro. You opened a new account to anti_timeShare? Mind sharing with us some of your painful experience so that someone who haven't join timeshare wouldn't fall into their trap? As i know, I think for Legend Water Chalet, they have only 2 units. FYI, SIVC has >3000 members last year. So, you do the math. Shame on Sunway Group!!!!

Slightly off topic but any one have any ideas where I can sell my Leisure Holidays membership.
Already had it for a long, long time.
Don't think it is the points based membership.

Hi...just joined the forum. I am a SIVC timeshare member for 2 years now. Bought the Platinum package for RM10K ++. Gotta pay that amount in four years.

What are the chances that I stop my monthly payment? Will they take action against me? M not that diligent in paying the installment either. I had tried to cancel my membership, but no success. They said, they've given 10 days cooling off period of which i can decide not to join this membership. Honestly, I can't recall, when did they say that during the sweet talk session. And I haven't even used the points ever since i became a member.

I know, I fell for the sweet talk.

Now, all I want to do is not pay them anymore. Any ideas/advice?

I dont' think it is wise that you stop the payment..it is simply not worth it for u as you have paid for 2 years. Btw, how much u pay per month? If u cancel now, u'll lose everything. Unfortunately, that cooling off period is really stated in the agreement, just that during the sweet talk they never explain to us. The question is: do you really go and enjoy the resort? If u really enjoy it, then i think it is still ok.

I have another painful experience with SIVC recently. As i tried to reserve made available resort oversea, took them 2 weeks to come back with my 3rd choice selection. 2 weeks? Fine, never mind. Ask them few questions through email, they totally turn a deaf ear to me. What the hell? Ask for resort information, they send me a low resolution JPG, printed it out and enlarge it with magnifier also can't read properly. I requested again, this time they totally ignore me. Is it really that hard to send me resort information?

Any place that i can complain to this? Everytime when i wrote in email to general line to complain, a lady name Shireen Wong will reply with a very sarcastic note. Their motto is: You can complain any time u like but you can never leave!! Stupid Sunway, shame on you!!!

To all brothers and sisters here, do not fall for their trap and join timeshare.

Hi there,

When did you sign up for it? If it is below 10days, it is still under cooling off period and you can walk into their office and cancel right away, but beware their boss, an old lady, I think if not mistaken Natasha or something, she is really quite convincing. Don't fall for their trap. We got up to the second step and fall for that old lady sweet talk.

Around one year, you utilise their inhouse installment or they bill every month and you just go and pay it? Around one year, meaning that you have paid around RM6K already. There is no way to cancel, unless you don't pay and they forfeited your membership. I think it is not worth it, i think you can sell the membership to someone or sell the rooms out, mind telling what is your membership? Platinum even or odd?

Hmm... SIVC again.... my dad now currently in some issue with SIVC ... they have salesperson who just ask you to sign on empty forms and say it for "standby" purpose and then send it up to bank to start recharge your credit card when you say to them you are no longer interested.

Even with police reports made, they are still taking it up that the legal documents are legally signed .... guess what... the salesperson also left SIVC already.

SIVC relationship managers? well... they will only help you if you want to give money to them ... not when you ask for refund.

I think if we setup a group of people who wants to complaint SIVC or take legal action against them ... the numbers of people would be interesting to see.

my parents and few of our family friends join RCI like almost 15 years ago.
everytime we go on holiday, these RCI units have never failed us. their units are clean, comfy and fully furnish. of course, you have to plan your holiday at least 8 months before. normally we travel in december and we book the RCI units by april/may.

THanks

Hi all, I read your feedback and new to this forum. However, i just want to share my experience to you guys so that in future, it wont happen to you. we purchased the time sharing vacation club with sivc last year 2010. and went ahead to book for our overseas trip in advance by 8 months for planning. Yet, after all those planning and money spent, to my family's horror on the day we reach the affiliated hotel where bookings are confirmed, the affliated hotel has closed down.

We were left by the roadside with luggages tramatise without accommodation !! A very bad experience, eventhough hotel was already closed for two weeks before our departure, sivc failed to inform us on this matter!!

I was wondering how many people are caught in this situation and not reported in news/forum?

So the next round you intend to purchase a membership, pls be very careful when you are going to pay so much money for it.

It's the elegance suite hotel. They have taken out the hotel name at the website. Until now, sivc are not willing to compensate.

Its the same shit with Berjaya Vacation Club. Previously there are at least 3 overseas home resorts but they have removed it since 2 years ago if not mistaken and up until now yet to replace with any resorts that are on par with the removed resorts.

Complain after complain but they just sit on it and do nothing. This is what i get if i complain about sudden shut down of certain resort:

QUOTE
Here, Sunway International Vacation Club reservers the absolute right to change, revise or replace the whole or any part of the Made Available Points Utilization Table and resorts without notice, prior or otherwise.
For those who are tempted to sign up with any vacation club and not only SIVC, but only Swiss Garden, Golden Horse, Berjaya, etc. I think you better think twice, i'm pretty sure you have better way to save/invest your money then dump it into vacation club. There is no way back!

We have signed up SIVC for 2 years now, touch wood... so far so good. The booking takes only 2-3 days to confirm and both our bookings are available. The resort are nice and location also not bad. I suggest all SIVC member to do some research before bookinig those made available resort. We decided not to use SIVC for our Europe trip. This is a result of months of research. We've found out that SIVC made avialable hotel in Europe is not even close to where we wanted to go. Then we also found out that RCI hotels are not at good location either for our plan. Therefore, we decided to make our own booking. Yes, it costs extra $ since we cannot use our SIVC points. But this decision has made our trip a wonderful one. We planned to visit those places we like, then decide for hotel. We have no stress during the trip. It "fits" our purposes.

For fellow SIVC members out there. We can help to make SIVC better by sharing our experience in travel planning. Since we have signed up and spreading bad experience will not help us. Let's be positive, share with SIVC members on those good resort and travel plan by using SIVC. I am sure we will enjoy our "remaining days" with SIVC. I shared my experience in tripadvisor, and so do many others, browse thru this site.

For those who is yet to sign up. I advice you not to make decision on the spot. Unless you have research and wanted to join a VC, dont just sign up because somebody "sweet talk" you. We joined SIVC without extensive research and ended up as member because of some "sweet talk". But luckily we have already decided to join a VC (since I want to make sure we force ourself to plan for holiday every year), so not too bad.

So far, I am a happy customer of SIVC. I am sure you can also be one. Good luck.

I don't think you can cancel or terminate after the 10 days cooling off period. The only thing that you can do is sell off your membership or do not pay your yearly maintenance then your membership will automatically freezing your membership and eventually cancel your membership. But what do you get out of this? You don't spend RM10K or RM20K or even more then you skip the maintenance fee and eventually caused your the membership right? Once you sign up the vacation club, don't expect to utilise the entitlement immediately. From what i know, you have to pay minimum 30% of the membership cost then only you can start to utilise your entitlement. So, please think before you sign up any vacation club. It is a one way traffic and irreversible. The sweet talk is also over upon cooling off period expiry.

Added on July 3, 2011, 9:10 pmLatest update, i notice that sunway vacation club has cancel all the made available resort in europe, kenya and australia. So the only made available resort left is in Asia. Like usual, they do not even bother to inform its member at all...so beware. With Matta fair is on its way next month, don't fall for their sweet talk and sign up blindly.

Haha, what a lucky girl.
As what you mentioned is quite true, all the australia/europe hotel has been removed permanently. I have double confirm with the SIVC with that, they told me that "Sunway International Vacation Club reservers the absolute right to change, revise or replace the whole or any part of the Made Available Points Resorts without notice."
So, please do yourself a favour, check with them before departure. You don't want to end up like tk1888...

I just joined the club in June. To my surprise, within these two months, the club has cancelled its affiliations with a number of overseas hotel. Currently, their overseas hotel are limited to China, India, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam & Indonesia. None of the hotels in European countries and Australia is available - these are the places that I planned to go when I signed up the membership. I felt cheated and is considering to bring up this matter to tribunal. If you guys are having the same intention please let me know so that we can bring it up together - stronger case.

Today, I wanted used it for my Hong Kong trip next year, when checking on the SIVC club website, Made Available Hotel become lesser and limited. rclxub.gif
Then, i try to email them on the RCI membership, they reply me as follow:

"Kindly be informed that the affiliation agreement with RCI expired on 15 July 2011 and Sunway International Vacation Club (SIVC) has decided not to renew the affiliation agreement on the grounds that it was not in the best of interest of the SIVC timeshare scheme and its timeshare members.

Further to this, to ensure continuity for our timeshare members to enjoy exchange privileges, SIVC has chosen to enter into an affiliation with Interval International (II). For the benefits of SIVC members, SIVC shall continues providing 2 years free membership under the Interval International (II) affiliation. Attached is the form for your further action."

For the Interval International affiliation, dun have any Hong Kong/Macau hotel. So depress and disappointed on Sunway. Really speechless on it. wink.gif wink.gif More and more downgrade.....haizzz...anywhere can make complaint and useful which can take action to Sunway.

SIVC had CHEATING their customer & i'm the one of victim.

The latest new of SIVC had remove all europe's hotel include Australia hotel & so on.

I had post the list & only had several hotel in there. All the RSI are fail to use & all member are fail to travel to others country by using RSI.

During time sign up, the sales person din't tell us & keep confirm us as SIVC got soooo many hotel outside & with RSI we can travel all around the world. Now, all gone ready.

How to do with it & how can i claim my money back????

Please help..

Added on August 16, 2011, 6:24 pmWho else got experience in make complaint or sue SIVC.

They got the world MOST Low service & NO responsible in operate the SIVC:

1) 1 booking need me to follow up myself & they din't reply at all.
2) I had waste my time to CALLING them,
3) MULTIPLE time in email & they still din't receive. At the end tell me that late booking & hotel are fully book.
4) I had waste my time to go direct to the service center & make confirmation. But still need to wait.
5) I got no choice to apply for leave to make confirmation of hotel direct to SIVC.
6) We paid money for service but i think we paid money to get in trouble more than service.
7) Service person din't stable, A person din't know B colleague's info to followup. LOW system & din't know what kind of system they are using.
8) Every complaint through phone & need their trouble shooting. They must reply: through email & we will contact you back soon. Then, do nothing.
9) I feel like they are using a legal license to make cheating money to public. And they still got the legal raw to take our money without any responsible.
10) During sales explanation, they had well train their sales person to use the side way & make us believe that SIVC had all the better service & with it we can travel to our dream country. But at the end, they said NO hotel at all & use the hidden raw to thread us back & said:

'Sunway International Vacation Club reservers the absolute right to change, revise or replace the whole or any part of the Made Available Points Utilization Table and resorts without notice, prior or otherwise.'

11) During explaination: They DIN'T tell us what risk we have to having SIVC. And I still in clear memory that their said that are NO RISK to having it & so many people rush for it.

I join it because of RSI, now RSI totally fail in use. What for if we stay in a local hotel that almost same price with outsider booking. And the most important i got headache to make my booking by paid all my money to SIVC????

They got the agreement & use the hidden raw inside to fight back. I hope really got some one can get the point to sue them... sad.gif

toooooo late for the member who had join here. I found here because of feeling cheated by SIVC & try to find out where can help us. Its that any other's way to let the public know their cheating skill?

Before sign up, all possible & no risk. After sign up, all the thing had change to opposite.

Until now, they still keep calling public with free voucher & convince them to join in. Its really terrible....

Aiyoo,a lot of negative comment over here..to show agreement of suggestion by mr. moneyworks, i want to share some of my experience(which is not a bad one).

Me n my wife joined the SIVC on early 2010,where we got the invitation to join by the lure of complimentary hotel stays (we were just married then)..the one big reason that we joined the SIVC is that we just want a HUGELY discounted price on hotel stays for the rest of our lives..i guess u guys already know the formula already;

Accomodation-wise
1 trip to London(without SIVC) = RM7K +- (average 3-star hotels for 7 nights)
RM30k +- (pay for SIVC) = Trip to London once per year(7 nights),for a lifetime

* This is only an example

So,on that alone,we've decided to join..of course we didn't plan to go to our dream vacations right away,we just thought that it would be very wise to buy it now, when the price is still low(in our opinion)..can't imagine what will the price be in the next 10 years, could be increased dramatically, given the current global economy..So far,we've fully utilized the points that we're given to us each year (540 pts to be exact)..but,instead of going overseas,we just use the points for hotel stays in malaysia..we don't want the points go to waste..plus,we are VERY FORTUNATE to have a very friendly salesperson(the same person that persuaded us to join in) where she explains thoroughly what i needed to know when asked, each time before we're going to make a booking.

Maybe we have yet go overseas, that's why we don't have too much problem..but for now at least,we're happy with the decision to join SIVC. If we can't go overseas,we just use it within malaysia..and that's that..their CS also reminded us of the points that is expiring in the coming months..that is why we managed to used up all our points last year(by shopping in Penang, hehe)

Then, you are lucky that person in charge can follow up you.

I had use my point at Sunway Pyramid too, just getting headache during booking.

The most important is start from Mac2011, ALL oversea hotel at RSI unavailable. This is a serious problem for us.

Why i join, the point are clear & easy. Cheap & for future.
Let said; 1 trip to London(without SIVC) = RM7K +- (average 3-star hotels for 7 nights)

With using RSI, i just need 270 point (270 x RM3 = RM810) to get
A) '3-star hotels' & about (I don't think SIVC got contract more higher than 3 star)
B) for '7 nights' &
C) for '3 Room'
* mean can travel together with 6 person by ONLY RM810.

That is the point. I hope you got what i mean.

If go to local hotel, its not quite different between SIVC with normal BUT SIVC still more lower than normal price, this is true & i absolutely agree with that. During promotion period, SIVC will become more expensive then.

Of cause if we look for future, its really good for us to invest. Just the problem we facing is the starting point of SIVC, they had make us feel unsafe & uncomfortable with their progress. Last 6 month i still get a good news ofrom the sales department said that Tambun Sunway will have hotel in SIVC too & still got more hotel from around the world will get in to the RSI hotel planning.

Now, the tambun not only din't have any hotel for SIVC. In fact, the hotel from all around the world which exist in SIVC name list all unavailable.

Now a day, just got 8 country got hotel for SIVC include Malaysia. They were China, India, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia & Malaysia. rclxub.gif

I'm a SIVC member, and I'm encountering very poor & bad service from them recently, unlike previous 1-2 years..

1) Email reservations not replied for up to a week. I have to send reminder after reminder.

2) Called but no response. The call is through but noone seems to be picking up the phone.

Haha,i don't think they don't know their products. In fact i think their know their product far too well but then they are only providing selective information. We, as inexperience customer most probably do not know how to probe for the negative part and eventually all fall for the timeshare trap. So please, think really carefully before sign up any timeshare...

The problem is how to let the others know about this case. When they find out had being cheap & finally find us. Its pointless to warn it here.

Its that any other way to let as more people know this as as possible?

Hi all,

Do anyone know SIVC emails/phone numbers other than the one that they put on their website officially?

I booked a room (got my confimation slip) with them to Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya to checkin tomorrow. But I called the hotel and found that the room was not booked from SIVC to the hotel.

I am trying to call them up and email them to check for me on my booking, but since this morning 10AM until now I don't get anyone to attend the official line number, and email no respond.

Appreciate if anyone can give me an escalate number to call up.

Thank you very much.

Sales person 1: 017 3680 310 (Jackson) (junior)
Sales person 2: 016 2112 615 (Terence) (senior sales)
Sales person 2: 018 6651 744 (Terence) (senior sales)

Hi all...if we join less than a year, can I stop paying the monthly installment and eventually SGIVC will terminate my membership? Will they charge me in court or something? I have yet to use their service. I don't care about not getting refund.

Please advice!

All vacation clubs are the same, the business model is extremely unfair to the consumers.

Please visit the following link

Berjaya Vacation Club members have done a good job. They have their own group in facebook to act as platform for exchanging experience and views.

Many others got hooked included myself. We are being laughed as BLUR SOTONGS  sad.gif in other forum.

The only solution is to form a group and put up the case to

Me and my friend had signed up for the Sunway Vacation during 2008. But after a few months we decided to cancelled the membership with the non refundable membership fees probably 5-6K at that time. Now recently I received a statement letter from them. Already cancelled 4 years ago, now asking for RM12K.
Now, this is robbery!

Hi, I am SIVC member and facing terrible service from them. My entitlement is going to expire this coming December. I have been trying to make reservations since September.

Most of their response is, sorry, fully booked. Sorry fully booked. And guess what? They only reply to you after a week, that if you are lucky. I have to send emails over emails to chase. How am I going to finish up my points then?! $%#$%#%$?! WTF service is that?!?!

The cooling off period is 10 days so it is still not too late to cancel it...
I think you have to go to their office, return whatever free stay vouchers that they are giving you and have face to face discussion with them, they will have no.choice but to acknowledge your cancellation...
Share with us the final outcome ok?

nothing is free. u'll most probably be made to sit for hours to listen to their sales talk and do some serious hard selling before giving you the free stay that will most probably come with terms and conditions that you most likely find it difficult to redeem.

my 2 cents n I maybe wrong about it

Haha.. normally the Term & Condition include:

- Must used within short period of time..~ 2-3 mths from the date
- No weekend and all Weekdays
- No School Holidays and must be booked atleast months before..

So imagine.. they give you the voucher valid for 3 mths and you listen to the talk in Nov- School holiday..and you need atleast 1-2 mth notice..

So basically the 1st 2 mths you can't exercise the option and since you need advance booking and let say January got lotsa Holiday inc Chinese New year... The voucher as good as "burnt"

I used to go to such talks decade ago and exercise only 3 out of the 5 - 6 of the free stays..

2 vouchers gone bcos of te stupid T&C ..darmit

1 free stays- Bali hotels for 5 nights- yes- I did when but the due to the date not coincide with Air Asia promo, I have to buy expensive air tickets to goto Bali... Ended up, this free stays in Bali more expensive than my earlier year holiday to Bali..darm

Hello guys. I have been a member of Leisure Holidays for one year.
Most of the time I feel regret with my decision to join this vacation club because I think its too expensive for one week yearly in a limited choice of below par resorts.
Plan to cancel it but cannot find any cancellation clause in the agreement + i already paid almost half of the amount so i might as well continue the monthly payment.
I advise anyone who interested or being approached by these timeshare clubs to resist their tempting offer.
But if you still insist on joining any vacation clubs, you can buy it from me thumbup.gif

So far I have no prob with Leisure Holidays, i just think its not worth the massive amount u have to pay. Last week i called them to book the apartment in Langkawi because i bought the cheap airasia promo ticket and they told me they can only receive booking 6 months before my travel date, cannot earlier than that.

So any of u guys joined this Leisure Holidays?

Hi, for those joining the time sharing/Vacation Cub,

Do you do your evaluation before joining the club/ membership?, alot of hassle and time will be wasted for chasing/confirm this and that.

This idea have been in the market for more than 10 year. I had been joined their sweet talk season, but fortunately i am not impress that need pay in advance for the holiday i would utilise in the future, it like swipe yours cc before you buy something. For me , if i got money i like the freedom to travel on schedule within 3 month, and not waited for the 6-8 month.

With the available of AA, i am sure that the most expensive ticket for yours travel expenses have available if you brain enough to waite and search on promotion time. For hotel, i use to search hotel booking on-line search web brower, it tend to be more convinience , cheaper and can get traveller advisers on that hotel and infors as well. If for low season, i would prefer to book first night, then when arrival, will be search for best bargain hotel.

For me, the time sharing is totally conned technique by hotel operator to get advance payment without any legal responsibilities. anyway, this IMHO.

I received a call few days ago, there is someone interested to buy my holiday timeshare which I was not utilized and they offer to pay in cash. The terms was, I need to pay them some fee for the legal and stamping cost, which is only 10% of my timeshare value.

I'm not very sure about the timeshare re-sale or timeshare trading. Can somebody help to explain what it is all about and make me understand (use layman term) how much the timeshare worth in market value. unsure.gif

Thank you in advance.

Anyone here familiar with BVC hotel room bookings?

My husband and I are fairly new with BVC but we are getting VERY FRUSTRATED doing the rooms bookings.

There are so many TnC which are not listed in their contract.

We just found out (the hard way) that we can only:
1) Book max of 2 room nites stay.
2) We cannot book our 2nd holiday until we have utilized the 1st bookings.
Like this, how do we finish the 7 days FREE ROOM STAY Entitlement?

All these Vacation Club membership is a darn RIP OFF.

Can anyone please help LET ME KNOW how I can go about the MULTIPLE ROOM bookings and MULTIPLE VACATION books. Planning our DECEMBER holiday and trying to utilize all 7days in that month.

Just less than 5 hours ago, paid 30% of RM28000 to join the Gold membership of Iconic Vacation Club for Sepang Gold Coast. user posted image

Now I read your comment and wonder...

babysuhaniz and Lumsei, what is the process of cancelling the membership?

But don't you think that the club facilities at their resort and beach is worth it?

I go to the Sepang Gold Coast public beach almost every week to lay on the dirty sand, don't you think that their private beach sand and member facilities is worth joining as member?

Totally agreed! ICONIC VACATION CLUB IS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!
DO NOT EVEN GO FOR THE SALES PRESENTATION!

Luckily I didn't sign up for the membership. Want to try their free room first but this is what happened to me.

Sepang Gold Coast Golden Palm Resort / Iconic Vacation Club – cheated of “free room”.

First they called me to attend a 1 hour presentation, which they promised that after listening to this, they will give me a “free room” at the Sepang Gold Coast Golden Palm Resort.

After that, when i called up the Golden Palm Resort for booking, they told me (almost automatically), that there is no room availability for all the next 6 months (which “happens” to be the entire validity period of my “free room” voucher. ) Even though I called up 2 weeks after the time I got the voucher (it was definitely not a last minute booking since validity is 6 months!).

So my voucher will simply be forfeited, and I’m cheated of my “free room” just like that.
I wrote in to complain, but all they replied (in another almost automatic email) is : “You have signed the Terms & Conditions, we have your signature!” The condition says that “This voucher does not guarantee a room, is subject to availability and on a first come first serve basis.”

But they force me to agree to their T&C and sign it, AFTER I have spent the 1 hour listening to the presentation. Which leaves me no choice but to sign it, if not they will not issue the voucher at all. The sales person who sweet talk me to attend the presentation didn't say "your free room is not guaranteed.. she said YOU WILL BE GIVEN A FREE ROOM after attending the talk."

Don't you think that what this company Iconic Vacation Club is doing is a cheat and scam? I mean they lure tonnes of people to attend their sales talk by promising “free room” for their luxurious beach resort, but they simply DO NOT HAVE THE CAPACITY to give you that free room.

And now I found out they treat the PAYING MEMBERS with the same unprofessional attitude. Their rooms are all subject to availability. Do not even think you can get your bookings at the dates and hotels you want despite booking months in advance. They can reject you based on their terms and condition which says "Your booking is not guaranteed, subject to availability." This applies to paying member as well.

DO NOT ATTEND THEIR SALES PRESENTATION AT ALL!

After attending the supposedly 1 hour but which lasted 2 1/2 hours with the promise of the free accomodation voucher, I ended up buying the Rm28000 ivc membership and guess what?

Even as a RM28000 paying member for which immediately I was charged RM8000 on my credit card IN ADDITION to having to pay RM380 per month for SERVICING, I AM S T I L L given the NO ROOMS excuse until end of 2014 (which means I forfeit buta buta some days of this 2014 accomodation priivilege)

So you all read this post and other posts, you tell me, are we not already stupidly S C A M M E D by Iconic Vacation Club? These are hard earned money and we are sweet talked into signing and basically scammed. Daylight robbery and I am stucked with it.

Those lucky enough to read this post and other post complaining IVC, you are the lucky ones.

STAY AWAY and PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD about IVC Sepang Gold Coast scam on all your social media. The more people are aware, the more people stay away and hopefully the bad word gets to their management and someone will do something to stop this VACATION SCAM.

Same experience here, went in April and wanted to book for a room in May and they reverted and mentioned that it is fully booed till October (*so happen falls within the validity of six months*, not fully booked till september or november but October!! exactly six months validity from the date we get our voucher!!), such a coincidence huh !!

IS there anyway we can complain about this as this is a waste of time and they are not fulfilling what they have promised the attendees.

This is intolerable!!

My sister has joined Sunway Vacation Club for quite sometime. Every time when we try to book for expensive hotel from the provided list (eg.: Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa (Main Tower) ).. they will always told us it is fully booked. I have tried to book it for 5 years in a row.. 0 success rate... =.=
Anyway, so far their response still ok. They will get back to us within a week for our request. Just unable to stay in "HIGH CLASS" hotel.. lol

Glad that you able to withdraw yourself out from this scam. Let us know whether you got your refund back.

I also went to a presentation recently. Actually I was already aware of the marketing scheme a lot of vacation club are using but I attended it since Midvalley was near to my appointment on that day and I was thinking to see what's in their sleeve. tongue.gif

The sales representative sweet talked me about my dream, i am really lucky to be the chosen one bla bla bla...
For 90 mins, she tried really hard to make me sign the membership. When i said i need to discuss with my partner and maybe get a free stay to see if the experience will worth it, she kept telling me "no obligation, but don't u think..." to make me surrender my credit card (hey, no obligation then why still keep talking)

Before she handed me the free vouchers, she tried one last time: "are you and your partner serious? If yes, why not leave a RM260 cash deposit here, refundable, so that I can reserve the discount membership price for you. You need to show your sincerity right if you are serious"

This made me very irritated as I know I would have trouble getting the cash back later so I rejected right away. Then she said "okie, I hope you really will come back then. Based on my experience those who said they will come back will never come back. Once I passed you this voucher, I cannot do anything anymore la..."

I only smiled and replied her "yea I know~i am also sales so... (I won't come back)"

Then just like all other people who tried to redeem the voucher, I got the reply as below:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Greetings from Iconic Vacation Club Bhd!

Received attached as well.

Refer to the email above, regret to inform you we are booked up for Travelers Palm Villa. Therefore, we are unable to advise the availability of Room (Traveler Palm Villa).

Meanwhile, your prefer date of check in (weekdays), we already put under waiting list and we will call if any booking cancellation (Non-guarantee).

Thank you & Sorry for inconvenience caused!

Warmest regards,

Mohd Aizuddin
Member Service Department

I replied them with my complaint and no more response since after. They are just scammers who utilize people's greed, playing the terms and conditions, and psycho people to sign up their so called membership. Spread the news to your friends so they won't waste their time over there. But should they still interest to give it a try, just make sure they keep the wallet tight.

Beware of Exchange Vacation club. Give you free stay voucher to stay at soon to be open Best Western Melaka but keep on postponing the launch to more than a year. Just a trick to ask you to attend their presentation to sell their vacation packages.

I have done my survey at Iconic Vacation Club (located at Midvalley) on 7-Mar-2014. As their promised, they will give 2D1N stay for 2 pax at Golden Palm Tree Iconic Resort & Spa - Travelers Palm Villa (Room only).

I try to book my room on the date (as what voucher stated only applicable on weekdays) i wishes, but after a few mail, all the weekday date I selected is not available and as well I asked the management give me the date is available. Below are the respond from IVC team and I felt they are cheating the customer for free survey.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Dear,

Greetings!

The email is well received, this Complimentary Stay Voucher issuing by Iconic Vacation Club and our inventory already fully booked up to Month of Sept 2014.

As we work on a basis of a certain number of rooms for our Complimentary Stay Voucher holder per day. This complimentary stay voucher is applied to weekdays (Monday - Thursdays) only not applicable during Eve-Public Holidays , Public Holidays or School Holidays.

The condition is clearly stated in the voucher that our rooms are limited and it is on a first come, first served basis as a room are limited i.e Traveler Palm Villa and this voucher does not guarantee a room booking or reservation as your already agree our Term & Condition (with signature).

Therefore, we are unable to advise the availability of Room (Traveler Palm Villa) also we are unable to extend the validity of the Voucher.

We thank you for your understanding and Sorry for any inconvenience may caused you.

After the entire email, they claim that no room which already fully booked up to Month of Sept 2014 and the voucher only valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Then what is the point keep telling customer you can get free room??

Please DO NOT believe on this survey anymore. Please share with your friend on this.

I plan to report this to the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism as this is purely cheating. I've given them almost 10 dates and they just simply reply me and said not able to check and ask me to book other places. Obviously they do not plan to honor the FREE room at the first place.

they jz called me up today and ask to get the free stay voucher, they mentioned no timesharing/membership to be sold, jz go to give feedback and then take voucher back, is that true? i been to many hotel/office about the vacation club and initially said only take less than an hour, but ended up few hours there - their so called managers/seniors came to persuade u and psycho u to sign-up..

A timeshare purchase is never a good idea. Some people buy them with the idea of a financial investment, but a timeshare is not a good investment at all. Besides, there are lots of fees involved. This is a good article that has good information about timeshares and how to use it properly: http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/119-timeshare-sales/

just bewarn NOT to get to sweet talk into buying this crap. they will simply charge your credit card for payment forcing me to block the card and get replacement. luckily just paid RM4.2k before changing my mind. Its better to just get MATTA fair offer if you want to go holiday.

Where to complain to get back money? Since the contract I sign never got back to me and I am liable to get back money since it's not legal anyway. Can consumer tribunal help?

Now they shifted to PJ Best Western. http://www.exchangevc.com/

Cheat cheat cheat.. It's scam call.. Don't attend to this calls.

I got conned from exchange vacation club... Just signed up 2 days back.. No contract and agreement given by them.. They are keen to swipe your credit card.. Even not enough limit. They achieved swiped with 50% which is 5k +.. Their line is always engaged. So I walk into their office on Monday.. There was only one person available and saying others are on leave... Since its only 2 days, I am going to tribunal pengguna tomorrow to make complain..

You don't need IVC member to book the room.

Nevertheless, some of the IVC member might willing to sell off some of their allocated rooms with cheaper price than those hotel booking sites.

Pros:
1. Free 1 week of international RCI resort, FOC RCI membership for 20 years, FOC 4 days 3 nights villa upon signed up
2. I took the free RCI vacation exchange in Malaga, Spain, which was truly awesome
3. The trading power is quite high for RCI exchanges
4. Looking forward for my next vacation to Santorini, Greece. rclxm9.gif

Cons:
1. The AVANI Sepang Goldcoast Resort valet parking is too expensive even for staying customer
2. My car was scratched by their valet parking, in which they took no responsible on that incident! vmad.gif
3. It took some learning curve to pick up the RCI booking tricks (Search / Exchange / Deposit)
4. EXPENSIVE

True!
Advisable to all not just listen only but, read carefully the agreement. Leisure Holidays membership paid up 22k by installment (forgot how many years). Service not so good compare to common hotel, just like what this user (stimix) mentioned. During signup they told you the membership price will keep increasing and you surely can earn what you paid now after few years… bla bla bla. In the end, I can see the maintenance fees keep increasing each year to ask to pay. After struggling few years I decided to sell it. Guess what! Just able sold out with 3k; they give me back 1k only after deduct this and that! Conclusion is... Leisure Holidays membership worth 3k only! Very disappointed! sad.gif

Hi guys
I find the concept of Vacation Clubs very interesting. I have only hears about it but never knew it was an actual scheme with users investing thousands of dollars.

Question I would like to ask Vacation Club owners, why not just consider reputable global hotel chains i.e. SPG, Marriott, Hyatt etc? You generally get treated well if you are loyal and your complaints are taken care off.

About almost 400 members attended out of 3196 members.

Sunway did a very good job for informing members about this issue and planned the compensation for the members. But some members are not satisfied with compensation and request for better payout but was denied. Anyway its already generous enough that Sunway has fork out an additional RM33mil for the compensation.

96% attended member voted out. So its good bye to SIVC.

Hi msleonghotmail

My sister is unfortunately involved in this Leisure Holiday "scam" way back in Year 2008... signed up during Travel Fair at Johor Persada, after hard selling non stop.

Can you please advise on how to sell this membership?
The LH staff replied the email recently in such a rude and threatening way when asked about membership termination... saying cannot get back any money (is there a clause in the agreement about this?). icon_idea.gif

And i also don't think after 30 years joining this LH member can get back any money at all!
They also sweet talking saying will get free life insurance after paying full the installment which amount close to RM15k after "special" discount. vmad.gif

I personally think LH will go out of business because of the emergence of Airbnb and Trivago. rclxms.gif

Really want to help her get out of this nightmare ASAP. thumbsup.gif

*
So far i don't have any issue on the booking at BVC and i can book 5 room with 2 night stay recently at Berjaya Langkawi. Is really not that grand but better than berjaya tioman.

You can login via http://berjayavacation.com.my/members_onlinereserve.php

Even you can check how many room available for that resort/hotel. The only problem is berjaya don't how to do maintenance properly.

I have joined BVC since 2005 so far i didn't encounter any problem on booking issue.

Best regards,
Bryant

If anybody is looking to sell out their Leisure Holidays timeshare please PM me with the details of the timeshare membership including type (week / points based?), year purchased, remaining years of timeshare etc, annual management charge?

Also let me know what you are looking for in terms of approx price range for quick sale and transfer. I might be interested to buy if the price is reasonable from existing member only. Genuine leisure timeshare existing members only

Not interested in purchasing new timeshare membership or dealing with 3rd party brokers. Please do not send me offer for any other timeshare company membership or promotions as I will ignore this

Just stayed in a swiss garden residences KL using someone else SGI membership timeshare. He didnt had time to use it i stayed for 4 days and only paid him rm300. Pity him but if he doesn't use it then it will just burn like that. Anyway the room was ok although it a smaller standard room then the one i saw in online. Quality of service was up to par with 5 star hotels. But I dont think u need to be in a vacation membership to enjoy those type of perks especially now with Airbnb.

Hi, as you mentioned, if travel to Europe and other countries, need to utilise all 7 days in one shot - Can choose 3 or 4 hotels in different cities/countries? Or 1 Hotel in 1 City for 7 days?
Thanks.

Genuine leisure timeshare existing members only pls

Thanks
