Can Pioneer DV410 work with external HDD via USB?
*
Yeap....no problem at all. Just use a reliable USB extension in between of hard disk. Avoid direct plug in from external hard disk.

Brother,

Maybe you look for Mr Alex at A&L amcorp mall, i bought it on 30-10-2008 with rm 480 but without any hdmi cable  doh.gif  vmad.gif  blush.gif
*
anyhow u still got it cheap smile.gif

btw, I'm still in a dilemma whether to buy any HDMI DVDP or not
coz now my old player is still functioning well
in fact it's a good player i must say, Pioneer model with DVD-A & SACD
Now I'm using component cable to link it to my 40" LCD TV
PQ is so far acceptable

can any sifu here give some advice on should I change it, or just save the money for BD player like PS3?

Of course, it's the 5.1 terminal output that actually make the DV610 valuable.
Yes, you should go for Mr Alex, I got for RM480 in cash also. But he told me that time only 20 pcs for promotion
And then i heard other forummer said they got RM480 also again after the 20 pieces over...

many ppl from here got the DV410 for RM480
You may have been too late

i am currently using the LG DV298H DVD player which supports HDMI 1080i upscaling and USB input.. it can play divx movies + .srt subtitle files.. the only major flaw i see in this player is it takes ages to load an avi movie file..

i'm thinking of getting the philips DVP5996K.. is there any users of this philips player which could share your experience of the player? how is the loading time? how bout subtitle support? max thumbdrive size it could support?

any other players u guys could recommed for a below RM400 price tag?

thanks for any info.

Best Denki KLCC overpriced its similar outlet at One Utama by RM30.00 for DV410... One got to be xtra careful wiz Best Denki.. different branch got different promo. But overall Best Denki One Utama is the best in term of customer service & pricing.

Brother,

first of all ,ur lcd 40" full HD? if just HD ready keep on using the existing dvd player, if the lcd 40" with full HD
better upgrade th dvd player, cause pioneer dv610 availible to upscaling to 1080P.

Component cable just support until 576p or more and less, but sure can't support 1080P.

Funny when i tried my external USB disk it did not work. I connected it directly without any external power source. Via thumb drives it works well.

I think the Hardisk need to be formatted to FAT32 instead of NTFS for the player to be able to read.

I was at Harvey Norman yesterday. They are now selling the DV410 model for RM399 + RM30 rebate + free HDMI cable. Better deal than Best Denki now. I bought it 1 month ago for RM380. sad.gif

Both the LG 298 and the newer 3** can't play avi movies from thumbdrive. I have tried it and it just can't recognise any avi files.

I have the Philips 5996. It can play avi file from thumbdrive and also my WD Passport. However, it seem not able to detect file greater than 1GB.

yes, my lcd 40" is full HD
i understand that component cable can support up tp 576p only
the upscaling job is done by the tv
but i noticed that the PQ is acceptable to me
far better than the asstro PQ

i haven't tried out any of the HDMI player yet
dunno whether the difference is significant or not sweat.gif
