Will adding a GC actually cause the voltages to be unstable?Or in other words, do I need to tweak the voltages everytime I add/remove hardware?I will try adjusting the NB voltage as you suggested.

guys, quick question.
if i were NOT to overclock my QX9650, what's the best for buck mobo that i could buy? yes yes, not overclocking the QX9650 don't do justice to it, but i left the OCing scene quite a while now, and i use laptop most of the time. i'm thinking of 4GB of DDR2/DDR3, some cheap nVidia 9 series GC for CUDA, and maybe 550W of purepower PSU. anything below RM500? the cheaper the better. i'm not gonna use it much anyways |

I just bought a QX9650 Having difficulty in overclocking. At 3.6, the temps go to about 70-72 under prime95

Just curious, but how far will a X3350 quad go on P35? Mine's running at a pretty safe 3.2GHz, just wondering how much more can it go.

Want to ask, is it safe to run my Q9550 at 3ghz with FSB 353mhz and ram memory at 847mhz while maintain PCIE at 100mhz
or should i detune my ram frequency to 706mhz at 2.00 multiplex? |

QUOTE(salimbest83 @ Apr 10 2009, 07:59 AM) i think no problem.. if u using ddr2 800.. how do i tune in BIOS to maintain ram speed of roughly 800mhz?im still running 3325Mhz @1.25v and my ram at 802Mhz.. ( still funding for CCF or RS) Cause if i follow one of the forum thread form lowyat.net, guide me to detune the multiplier for ram to 2.00 which i only achieve 706mhz. If i set auto, it will bump to 847mhz. That worries me if i screw up my ram. |

Here to join the club, made some changes to my overclock settings, just got it stable on LinX and IBT

Erm, unless you're using Nvidia chipset, else I think is not possible to unlink your RAM with FSB. In short, your RAM Clock is strapped to the FSB. You raised your FSB to overclock your CPU, hence RAM clock will be go either higher or lower depends on how you set your multiplier. Cause if i follow one of the forum thread form lowyat.net, guide me to detune the multiplier for ram to 2.00 which i only achieve 706mhz. If i set auto, it will bump to 847mhz. That worries me if i screw up my ram. Your RAM probably won't screwed at 847Mhz, instead if your RAM can't tolerate the additional 47Mhz, it'll cause your system become unstable. For a simple and effective test, run memtest86 for at least two passes, and see if any errors, else it's good to go If errors detected, you can either put more juice to your RAM (of course you should know where the safe limit is), or lower the clock to 706Mhz and tighten your timings. Which to do is up to you. What RAMs you got btw ? This post has been edited by mercury: Apr 10 2009, 05:59 PM |

Pushing my X3350 C1 on a EP35-DS3.
410FSB, 1.23125V, stable 425FSB, 1.3125V, +0.2V FSB, +0.2V MCH, +0.1V PCI-E. It's crazy, board can boot at 1.25V +0.1V FSB, but took so much extra to make it actually stable. This post has been edited by yimingwuzere: Apr 15 2009, 09:18 PM |
