i try to go higher only reach 419x8~420x8 the pc no boot==

btw, lol in ur siggy GTX 295 dont run in crossfire , their SLI.. CFX = ati, nvidia = SLI, both use different methods to scale with 2 or more video cards

Play w vNB, vTT & vDimm.
GTL, skew as well.

Most likely the chipset. P35-DS3L also has same issue.

My EP35-DS3 and X3350 can hit 425*8, but the power usage is crazy, +0.2 MCH, +0.2FSB, 1.3Vcore. Could go higher but absolutely not worth it.

Look at my signature, my p35 ds3 rev 2.0 can go 440x8=3.52g or 1760fsb but at normal power, fsb voltage +0.1 but mch voltage normal, vcore 1.3000v, actually through my experience sometime its luck on mobo chipset n cpu, not all can go that high its not how good your experience in oc, correct me if its wrongly stated.

hello I have some questions.

1 . How much actual difference will i get in terms of gaming using a gtx 260 core 216 , 4gb ddr2 ram gaming at most 1680x1050 with med to high details all games maybe with 4xaa and 16 af with Q9400 or Q9550? except 6mb and 12mb l2 cache??

2. The Xeon Counterparts of 45nm Yorkfields Quad core which are lga 775 socket are they same as those with core 2 quads? do they perform same? whats the difference then ?? for Xeon X3350 with Q9450??

3. Also for Q9400 or Q9550 Whats the max stable OC using Stock vcore and stock intel HSF? can get to 3.75 ghz easily?? using Asus or Gigabyte g31 chipset mobos??

4. How about 1.35v OC whats the max stable OC can i get?? for Q9400 and Q9550? Using CM hyper t2 cpu cooler??

As per your question, i think nobody can give you a definate answer, as state earlier on the previous tread, ocer is some kind of luck especially if u are lucky u get a better chip or cpu n u manage to go higher with lower voltage if unlucky then the reverse, anyway the question is that u only have to try it yourself on your chipset n cpu plus some good high end hardware

1.google yourself but get Q9550 lar,~RM200 difference and get full cache with .5x multi
2.Same thing,100% same thing with difference being some really minor one which don't affect performance
3.Dream on for 3.75ghz with caplak board And no one can answer your unless you try yourself
4.Test yourself
As for cooler wise,go for Prolimatech Meganehalem cause it is the best and can support I7 nicely

G31 chipset is not good for overclocking bro... it's meant for mainstream market, in other words normal daily use

hey guys.
The pic below showing my rig's OC atm.



the problem is i cant seem to get my proc higher than 3.6GHz (425x8.5). The highest i reach before is 450x8.5 = 3.8GHz using 2x2GB 800MHz RAM. now i upgraded to 2x2GB 1006MHz. but the RAM cant even reach 900MHz. =.=" i tried using proc's stock speed (333x8.5) and set ram multiplier to 333/1066 get it to 1066MHz.but then it didnt even post lol.

i already sent for replacement n got new one. but the prob is still the same. i checked already my RAM that it does support my mobo. what seems to be the main probs here? mobo? ram?

ps - the setting i get now is the best i can get atm.huhu.when i tried to increase the fsb a little, BSOD attacked while loading windows.hoho.

Any comments and solution is highly appreciated.thanks

dude.. manually tweak your ram.... follow the EPP timings as shown in CPU-Z

of course.i put it 5-5-5-15.i actually dont know what else should i tweak with the ram except the frequency speed n timing.i already set the voltage to 2.1v as stated by the manual.should actually be no problem reaching 1066MHz with the voltage.but cannot instead.aiseh.huhu

hmm... using latest BIOS?
have u tried tweaking the Performance Level (tRD)?....set u your tRFC to 40...
not sure what's your RAM-mobo problem.. maybe ppl with the same mobo like you could give their opinion regarding this matter...

yup. already updated the mobo with the latest bios..

for Performance Level, right now i put 10.seems to be stable.but when OC more, even at 12 also cannot..

and for the tRFC, i havent change anything yet. but im not sure which option is the tRFC.

btw...yes! finally i know why. i had to disable T2 dispatch in bios.now i can reach over 1000MHz! im so happy.haha.
