QUOTE(glock88 @ Sep 14 2008, 10:14 AM) hello guys... just got a X3320 yesterday... my VID 1.1750.. is this low enough???? it seems i have stability issue when oc to 400*7.5 at stock voltage... what voltage u guys normally use? why don't u try running prime95 to test its stability. we all hope we can achieve the lowest vcore with stability. it's not necessary to pump vcore excessively, coz it will shorten your cpu's life.

QUOTE(Cyclone87 @ Sep 20 2008, 08:04 PM) I feel used to that high temp. My macbook T7300 running at 95C+ even just run 1 application. I run it for 24/7 and until today no problem. Haha u can fry an egg on your lappy mmm... fried eggs. but bro, i dun think u should let ur quadies run at that kind of load temp. really will shorten the life span

QUOTE(Cyclone87 @ Sep 21 2008, 11:09 AM) 87C is the peak temperature. Most of the time idling at 60C and load at 70C. I believe the sensor problem because my heatsink dont even feel warm. Now i still figuring out how the GTL work. Is it good to run GTL at *0.69 all the time? poor HSF/CPU contact maybe? beats me on the GTL I also wanna know how it works. I will wait for your conclusive finding

QUOTE(tech_frix @ Sep 22 2008, 11:34 PM) dont turst realtemp and coretemp... IMHO, still buggy for 45nm quaddies... just use speedfan, mobo application or d mobo indicator... oh okie. u r just like cyclone bro who doesn't trust coretemp and realtemp

QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Oct 19 2008, 01:59 PM) No leh, i just simply bought this from pinpinmao. I think it's so so only ler. I tried pushing it to 3.6ghz. but can't seem to boot into windows at 1.29v. i didn't dare to put it over 1.3v, as my cooling is not so good and more over, i'm not in an air con room. tkh bro, how much vcore can u achieve if u do 3.5ghz? can u still remember?

QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Oct 19 2008, 08:59 PM) hmm...mine ka....around 1.4v maybe...cant really remember already lolz.... just push more vcore n see how loh.... really nice proc u have there with 1.15v on load hehe thanks bro. But I might upgrade to Q9550 soon. still finding out. This post has been edited by metsatsu: Oct 19 2008, 09:51 PM

QUOTE(-pWs- @ Oct 22 2008, 01:36 AM) Surpirsingly, I oc back my q9300. I can do 3454MHz at 1.2160v stable (after vDrop & vDroop). Last time, 3508MHz at 1.3120v stable. May I know will a PSU causing this weird scenario?? -pWs-same goes for my Q9450, after tkh_1001 bro asked me to try pushing my Q9450 to 3.6ghz, so i thought i will give it a try. currently doing 3.5ghz @ 1.22v happily however if 3.6Ghz must raise all the way to 1.37v!! the temperature automatically shoot up by extra 9c overall!!

Corsair 620w psu is currently the most reliable and stable efficiency psu in the market. Saw ur rig's specs, i would say is the proc's limitation as well as mobo's setting. Have u played with the rest of the setting? This post has been edited by metsatsu: Oct 23 2008, 11:13 AM

Man that's a good vcore for 3.75ghz. Either it's a good chip or the mobo is doing the trick?

what cooler are u using for your Q9450 bro? Your Q9450 seems to be performing almost the same as my recently sold Q9450. mine did 3.5hz comfortably at approx 48c/65c idle/load with prime @ 1.225v. woah, load at 80c with IBT, sheeeet... i dun even dare touch that temp region. nanti your chip kena fried instantly

the highest clock i ever managed to get was only 3.6ghz. but not bcoz the chip had reached its limit but i think it was due to my cooler and mobo. even at 3.6ghz was rather shaky. coz my idle temp was like 59c which was 10c more than my 3.5ghz idle temp. 1.325v was needed to bump it from 3.5ghz to 3.6ghz lol.
