okay guys..

my 2nd day got my hand of this Quadie 9550..
no time to test and playing with bios..
just
1)change pci/pcie freq to 37.6 (burn my ex graphic card coz forgot about this setting)
2) set mem divider to 1:1
3) just try fsb 400..than 433 and lastly stop at this 443.9FSB

other setting just leave to auto..

and guess what..
the bios just crank up the voltage to 1.520 volt o load..
and temp as show by OCCT go as high as 85C..
core temp show 76C.

so which one show the actual value for the temp..
pls enlighten me

ps:
yeap..
i know i need another cooler for sure..

will try to experiment tonight..

just my cooler holding me back..
just using AF 64 PRO only..

thinking to get CCF.. or xigmatex ..

or any recommendation?

i believe u can get lower vcore if u test it by slowly increasing ur clock to see how far it can go with lower vcore...

and the temp u can use the one from coretemp as reference with tjmax set to 100c.......

as u OC, if adding vcore by quite an amount already also cant seem to help stabilise the clock, u might wana adust ur vtt/vfsb and Vnb...

if  ur mobo have gtl... try mess around with it also...

vcore on auto is kinda  sweat.gif
*
erm.. will try to take some shot from my bios..
and post here..
im still noob in OCing intel Quad..lots of thing to adjust..

my setting in bios is as so:

Vcore = 1.3375v
FSB voltage = 1.3v (if default is 1.2v can't remember sweat.gif )
MCH voltage = 1.6v (if default is 1.5v can't remember also)
PCIE voltage = +0.10v dunno what value and why wanna increase it, but just doing it for the sake of it.  blink.gif
PCIE frequency = 101mhz
FSB:DRAM ratio = 1:1
ram timing = 4-4-4-15
DDR2 voltage = 2.05v
Loadline caliberation control = auto
436 x 8.5 = 3700mhz

the rest i didn't touch

but as tkh bro said, each mobo are different from another. this values which i used on my Gigabyte X38-DS5 can only be used as reference for other ppl. hope it helps in some way.
and for those who think i can improve and correct. please share with me yah.
*
yeap.. just try new setting...
voltage manually set to
VCore = 1.31v
MCH etc all bump 0.1v
pci freq change to 37.3
FSB:DRAM set 1:1
ram timing and voltage leave to auto.

test using OCCT v2.0 stable 1 hour..
@3.77GHz..temp on core 1

my mobo kinda hard to OC coz some time when im just 'kacau' RAM setting.. i end up reset the CMOS.
haish..

usually hovering below than 60..

so, you are using stock HSF? and what thermal paste you apply?

did you OC?
i had my hsf fan in  turbo mode and its running 1.9K RPM. but still at ~50'C
*
im using 'naked case' for now..ambient at night around 29-30C, day around 35-38C
using cheap thermal paste..(got for free and a bit sticky now) blush.gif
fan speed set to max in bios..

ps: still cant afford to spend nearly 200 for case..
in big debt now..till finish my loan. sad.gif

Want to ask, is it safe to run my Q9550 at 3ghz with FSB 353mhz and ram memory at 847mhz while maintain PCIE at 100mhz

or should i detune my ram frequency to 706mhz at 2.00 multiplex?
*
i think no problem.. if u using ddr2 800..

im still running 3325Mhz @1.25v and my ram at 802Mhz..
( still funding for CCF or RS)

yes quite surprised with it..
if only can try beyond 450fsb.. i think 3.5g is no sweat..

the idle temp should be 63/57/58/57..
open the core temp right after priming.. so no record @ idle..

this board rated 1600fsb on OC.. so cannot hope much..
the proc more likely as double E7200...
*
so ur Core 0 temp oso like mine la..
its hotter than other core..

and even using Red Scorpio, mine always hit 71C ++ at core 0..
usually hovering around that..
and not actually stable at 4GHz.. sweat.gif
too hot i think..and dont really know how to tune it again..
