i got 1 robo (female) myself, bt later i saw my bro brought another pair of robos too.
How shld i grouping them? Each robo 1 cage or ??
N i realised 1 robo got pregnant already (can see fr it size).

1. Robo (F - 1y) - living alone in a cage
2. His (M - 6mths) - Stay w/ Her.
3. Her (F - 6mths) - Pregnant now

When "Her" almost delivery, I need 2 separate out fr "His".
"His" seem to go well w/ Robo, bt I dun wish 2 get anymore baby robo again.
"Her" & Robo wil get fight when 2gether in a cage *sweating

Izzit my only choice = each robo 1 cage? It seem quite pity like tt way...

Sigh~ bcoz of my stupid bro sleep.gif" He wont even know how 2 tk care of the hamster, I cnt imagine when those bb robo comin soon.

Any gd advice??

Your bro should have gotten same sex robos but its too late now. Not sure you can put the females together as their are not the same age. They might end up fighting to death. I wonder if the mongolian gerbil intro trick would work with robos or not?

Anyway you have to separate the male from the male as the female will get stress and defensive towards the male in the same tank.

seems like no choice but to separate, since both females will fight.. at this point, even if u buy new robos to accompany them also quite difficult, scared they fight with the new ones..

unless u can observe that ''His'' and ''Robo'' wont mate.. cos some female robos are very choosy of their mates.. but it's a high risk to take lah.. who knows if they mate when u're not around.. so, it's up to u loh..

Well, for starters. it is not safe to place a pregnant robo with another male or female. You shouldn't place it with a male cuz he might impregnate her after she gives birth. You shouldn't place with another female because the female might go over and steal the pups. There will be a tug of war like thingy with the pups as the rope. Ends up all the pups will get eaten because the mama feels threatened and the pups don't smell like her anymore. It's important for the pups to smell like her so she can recognize her own pups. So no touchy touchy of the pups with anything when they're born.

For now you must put each robo on their own. When the pups are born, you can slowly introduce and group them in 1 "boys only" tank and another "girls only" tank. Kelantan style I guess. biggrin.gif

Cnt tk the chance, coz i can see "Robo" & "His" going quite well, keep on smelling each other wub.gif (them only met less than 5 minutes)
So, I guess they aren't choosy at all shocking.gif

@ifeel100: Just a while mar the cages. biggrin.gif When the babies are 3 weeks old, they can be sexed into 2 tanks with proper introduction.

And getting lesser by lesser is bad... Imagine many f the hamsters eating one baby together... You sure trauma.

@nissampulsar11: Yup, as Kelvin pointed out, please go to garage sales ya. Here for pet discussion only.

Guys, just got a pair of hamster on last saturday when doing shopping with my gf. Actually is my gf wanted to get it but after 2 days she seems like lost interest alrady. sweat.gif so i guess i will be the one to take care both of the hamster.

I'm not sure what is the type of the hamster, will post some pic to let you guys help me to verify.
Currently i just got the sunflower seeds as the food for the hamster. As from the 1st post, there is several of food that is recommanded for the hamster, is it ok to just stick to one brand or mixture with other?

As for the cage, it just a cage with a wheel and a water tank.

Need advice from you guys on how to take care of them. notworthy.gif

Thank you
