q1. not really. only some games allow you to do this like wipeout hd. most games do not.

hey anyone know if you can turn off the function that uses your joypad to turn on the ps3. i only wanna turn it on by pressing the machine not on the joypad. sometimes my mom chucks the controller into the drawer and it turns the ps on. i always get heart attack when i come down and its on. i found the auto turn off function so its ok. but yeah wondering if we can turn off that controlling thing.

i dont think there's any...but you can always turn off the power button at the back of your PS3 to prevent "accidental power up" via controller

1.I have a 512 KB internet connection.Would that be enough to play online games?
2.Is there any danger of virus infection while browsing the web with the PS3?

1. yes, depends on the host. if local no prob, if international you will see a lot of 'jumpers'
2. Nope.

i think it should be ok. but it depends on how good your inet provider is. streamyx is a bit unstable. some people with 1mbps+ have gaming problems.

virus infection... i wont say 100% no. but if im not mistaken you can download an antivirus. inet is inet you know. if you searching prawn sites or illegal DL sites on your ps3 sure got something dangerous.

if a virus can infect a ps3, then heaps of homebrew apps for ps3 must have been created by now

virus = unsigned code (not technically correct, but you get the idea)

one way is buying a us psn card off of ebay. never tried it myself though. its pricey.

i would like to ask some questions....

1. Does the PS3 80GB able to play PS2 games and all region PS3 games??

2. Is it more worth to buy a second Ps3 60GB version or get a new PS3 80GB version or even 2nd hand 80GB version.. is it wise to buy second consoles..??

3. I have a Samsung T220 widescreen LCD.. and i able to get HDMI display from the ps3 if i use the DVI to HDMI cable??

1.no..new one doesnt support that.....PS3 game all region free

2.buy new MY PS3 80gb better....got warranty..u need that..

I did not play PS3 for past a few days. Today, once I want to play, I found that the resolution of my ps3 is not as usual. A bit big (low resolution). I chek in display setting, it already checked for everything. I also already reset the resolution by pressing on power button for a few second, still same issue.

I also found that something bintik bintik on my screen. Previously, I am not sure it was there or not because i just got my ps3 and play less than 6 hours.

Have you check your Display Settings whether it is set to 480p or 720p?

yup i did. Inside it, there is 4 options - 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p. I checked for all of them but I believe, my PS3 shows 720i instead of 1080p even the status there showing 1080p. I see the icon on the cross menu is bigger if compared to last time i play. ..

Your monitor can support 1080p? Try un-check 480p, 720p and 1080i; check 1080p only and see what happen. You are using HDMI-DVI connection?
