That's funny... just two days ago I updated to 2.54 !

i play online(via wifi) most of the time with 3 laptops online(via wifi),on a 512kbps line.
it's playable

if you're using Vista,just place all your media in their respective folders(music in Music folder,etc) and enable sharing in network settings.

then stream via wifi(never tried cable,so cant say for certain)

haven't receive any update from my PS3?

the ps3 can play vob files(dvd files) too.

so if you have mkv files that you wish to play on the ps3,just use mkv2vob and convert it to vob.

i just tried it earlier today,plays smooth

i dont recommend playing pirated dvd's on your ps3 lah bro. i dont think its healthy. heh.

so far a good upscaling dvd player is that sony one. last month i looked around 350-400.

where to change the resolution setting? i saw 700++ 1080p and 1080i, etc ..

are u using a HDMI or HDMI > DVI cable ?

I have one question to ask. Current my friend is at Japan and he wish to bought a set of PS3. Any of the owner here own a Japanese set? Is there any significant problem when using the console here in Malaysia?

no warranty. unless someone wanna send the set to japan.

Well no probs at all , he can use his Japan PS3 here in Malaysia..The main probs was bout the warranty , lets say his ps3 hv technical probs , then he himself must send back the PS3 to Japan to claim the warranty..Sony Malaysia wont accept it , for sure.
