QUOTE(TypeR @ Sep 26 2008, 09:05 PM) I'm new to PS3, Malaysia Sony recently launched the PS3 80GB version of it. Can someone do a comparison between PS3 80GB & PS3 40GB. 1) Bigger Capacity Of Hard Disk drive? 2) New Game Controller? 3) 4) The rest is the same specs? Because I need to know which version is worth to buy? Thanks alot!!! Someone stated that the Msian set is CECHK (65nm CELL & RSX, thus lower power consumption & cooler than earlier models) There are 40GB set with 65nm or 90nm RSX chip. To be sure, just check the model number. You can go to this site to get SKU comparison. But if I were you, I'll just buy the official Msian version, because of the warranty

I straighaway changed to my UK account after downloading from the US store (set as background download). QUOTE(Gfreak @ Oct 16 2008, 06:38 PM) . Can I disable my firewall only for a certain IP or if disable firewall it's for the whole router??? . uPnp??? sorry bro but I'm trully blur in this will check and provide feedback ijust disable the firewall on my router . I'll let the my comp's OS manage with inbound intrusions if you are not confident, just set you PS3 to DMZ, no more port forwarding needed. enabling uPnP on the router is easier as it will automatically open needed ports for compatible devices (PS3 & p2p clients normally included).

the 2.2 2.3 2.4 and 2.5 thingy is dynamic dhcp client list or static dhcp client list?
maybe that list only list clients that obtain ip from the dhcp server dynamically. if you set the PS3 ip manually, it wont show on the dynamic dhcp list..
upnp must be enabled on the router.. but since you put it under dmz, upnp is no longer needed i think.. but other p2p apps on other devices may still need it.

QUOTE(Gfreak @ Oct 17 2008, 04:59 PM) Hi Vorchiel, . I would assume that this is the dynamic dhcp client list since I’ve never set my laptop or other machine to see specific IP add. Only my PS3 I set as 2.10 but even so it does not appear under the client listing……oic if that’s what really happen as I thought that the client listing would show all the client that is hooked to my router. . But surprisingly, my belkin showing ip add 2.3 is listed but showing an empty host name. As soon as I turn on my touch and access my router, the client-listing auto-change the host name for 2.3 from empty to ipod touch. . I assume the above is normal if switch on touch then address 2.3 appear together with host name. But in this scenario 2.3 is already there. Does this mean my router only can handle 4 address at the moment? Cannot be right? since the dhcp is set for 0-100. sometimes they 'cache' (for a certain amount of time) the respective MAC in the router memory and 'reserves' the IP according to the MAC (even if the device is not connected yet). so everytime your touch reconnects, it will get the 2.3 ip & the router will update the hostname in the list.. in my setup, i'm more comfortable with static dhcp though (not static ip), coz i dont have to check the client table to know which ip is assigned to which device

yep but not truly static dhcp there is a page in the router to set static dhcp according to the mac address. dns auto mtu auto proxy disable upnp can only be enabled if you already enabled upnp in the router can you browse using ps3 browser & psn sign in? if you can, i think the connection is already okay btw router and ps3, the problem is with btw the router <--> internet

i just use 'easy' connection on ps3 as i already set up static dhcp for every devices in my router.. so for every device in my network, they all can use 'auto dhcp /easy' setup.. no need to enter various settings. yes the dns ip adds you entered are tmnet's dns servers, so it is correct.. it might be because of psn maintenance i think.. because i read somewhere there is an emergency maintenance http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/16/...ed-maintenance/about the psn id country, it doesnt matter.. i'm sure many ppl here have at least 3 psn ids from various countries This post has been edited by vorchiel: Oct 17 2008, 06:36 PM
