I heard that you can take train to go back to Malaysia at Tanjong Pagar. But it is worth it? Heard that it is the slowest of all modes of transportation.
*
train is ok but i think its not worth it to buy in Tg Pagar coz its same price but in SGD. better take it from JB since the station juz beside of the custom.

if u get the bed berth its nice, u can sleep well enough n reach KL ngam ngam the time, not like 3-4am. rclxub.gif

Aiyo... go bookstore and buy a street directory lah. Or log onto SMRT, SBStransit or StreetDirectory.com and use the journey planner.

only have very limited Q ticket; say 10 per day. and you have to be really really early lining up to be the first few to get in and get that ticket. just go for e-appointment. but at the moment, 2 months backlog.

Last time I submitted my PR application on Saturday, reached the building area around 7:50am, there was a seriously long queue waiting for me before I can enter the building, and I was the last one who got the Q. So better go as EARLY as possible smile.gif

By bus, go to SBSstransit website search under bus, you will find a guide on how to get to from 1 location to another with suggested bus no and direction on where to alight.

www.sbstransit.com.sg

MRT, you will have to walk..could be too far for that, by the way, Ubi cresent where? I suggest you so search the lcoation you are going to on yahoo.com.sg for "Singapore street directory". Using teh SG street directory map, you will be able to find any location in SG. including the MRT station.

Hi... here's a step by step guide for you.. Hopefully it's useful.

General Information- You need the "Queue Ticket" to hand in your application form and supporting documents.
- There's 2 ways to obtain the Q ticket. E-appointment and on the day visit.
- It only takes less than 10 minutes to hand in your form and documents if you have everything in place.
- If you don't have all the documents in place you're screwing yourself up. You will need to visit the ICA again to hand in.
- Make sure you know what are the list of documents (photos, birthcerts, degree transcripts, etc) that you need to prepare.
- Photostate 2 copies each. Don't just take it as the documents are not required. Whether they are required or not will be based on the person evaluating your case. Means, it may differs from a person to another person. Just get ready those documents listed to avoid delays
- Most people forget these things: Letter from previous employer stating salary, nature or work and position. Photo. Degree transcript. 6 months of previous pay slips. Income tax documents.

What to do on that day: Day Visit
- If you don't have an e appointment it's alright. Not the end of the world. Go line up in the morning at 7:30 a.m. Trust me.
- When they open the doors, make your way in as quickly as possible.
- Take this route: At the entrance of the ICA building turn right quickly and look for the lift. DO NOT TAKE THE ESCALATOR. Take the lift to the 5th Floor. This is where you suppose to line up at another Queue to obtain the Q ticket for PR application. Line up ASAP and get the Q ticket.
- How fast you obtain this Q ticket dictates how long you have to wait.
- If you get this Q ticket fast enough you may leave before 10:00 a.m. However I reckon if you followed my instructions thorougly you'll probably go back at 2pm.
- The numbers doesn't come in sequence. However after awhile you'll be able to figure out how it works and roughly how long you need to wait. Rule of thumb after you've figured out the sequence, give around 20 mins for each Queue. That's how long you have to wait for each Q.

Again, remember the supporting documents. If not you'll have to go back there again.

How I know? I spent a freaking 6 hours observing what was happening at the ICA building as I'm too free and I have nothing else better to do.

I've also managed to observe how the evaluate. If you want you can PM me.

Edited:

Btw, for e appointment, go to LEvel 5 and then use the machine next to the normal Q at level 5. You most probably will be out of there by 9 a.m. smile.gif

Hi peeps,

Some stuff that need your advice

1. I am switching job. But my new company want me to start working immediately. So i cannot give one month notice so i guess i need to pay for one month salary for my current company. Its there any possibility that i do not need to pay that one month of salary?

2. I feel like cheating my current company that i am going back to Malaysia, but if i said i go back to m'sia i need to pay the tax rite? (because i have yet to reach 6 months working here). Is it good to cheat them about this? coz i scare being whacked if i said i switch job.

Help~~ dilemma~

1. I don't think so, most likely need to pay, try talk to ur boss about this and see he will tolerate or not. if not, talk to ur new company, if they aware of this one month notice thing then is either they pay the money or take u in one month later.

2. IMO, don't ever try to cheat. u might end up kena blacklist from MOM. If u go back malaysia for your case, u might need to pay the high income tax.

my suggestion is, talk to the new company that u cant start work now. then resign from current company asap.

if you're a fresh grad then you just explain to them that it's your first job and you don't have a previous employer... However you will still need the letter even if your previous company is in Msia.

when I submit my application, I reach ICA before or around 7am and there ia like 10+ ppl infront me.
After they open door, just like cktwai say go to the right side and take the lift straight up to fifth floor. then rush/walk to queue counter to get the queue counter.

Is it worth wake up so early so queue and wait 1 hour + ? For me I think is worth because before 9am I already walk out from ICA building with my gf and go back for breakfast.

if not mistaken for submission you just go 1 counter ,just submit and settle. Those need go though a lot counter is after u get your PR approval and those cannot done in weekend, only can be on weekday as stated in your approval letter.
