Has anyone (PR) renewed their passport in Malaysia and then come back in to Singapore with a new passport + old invalid passport (with the current re-entry permit)?
Can any long time PRs tell me what's the best way to go about this?
1. My current passport expires 1 Oct 09.
2. My re-entry permit on current passport therefore, also expires 1 Oct.
3. If I renew my passport back in Malaysia, I will come back to Sg with a new passport, expiring 1 Oct 14.
4. However, my re-entry permit will be in my old passport.
So, when I come back, what do I do?
(A) Bring both old & new passports and go through immigration normally?
(B) as for (A) but need to fill up a disembarkation card as well?
© do I need to inform immigration before I leave Singapore that I will be renewing my passport in Malaysia, and therefore travel back to Sg with a new passport & reentry permit on the old one?
And after I'm back, I assume I just apply for a new re-entry permit for 5 years (ie. expires 1 Oct 14 with my new passport)?
same case with you few weeks beck. I am renewed my passport in sarawak during chinese new year.
Just bring together new passport with the old one when u go thru woodland immigration*PR singapore line and visitor Line.Tell the officer that u just renewed ur passpost.
u can get REP chop at ICA in singapore or log in to ICA website to register onilne(save time and money for method 2)
