There's Tiger Airways and Jetstar Asia also. All 3 budget airlines have prices from S$9.99 to almost S$200 - depending entirely on when you make your booking. This doesn't include taxes and surcharges. All 3 also have promotions all the time. So, at the end of the day, there's no "cheapest". It's a matter of how early you can confirm and pay for your booking.

You also have MAS and SIA, who occasionally have good fares, depending on promotion.
*
cheapest are usually Air Asia and JapanAirLines-JAL.

Air Asia ranges from SGD120-280. usually if u book 3 weeks in advance during normal period will be about SGD 180. JAL is usually about SGD 217. Bad thing about JAL is you need 3 days advance booking. Good thing is it lands at KLIA.

I felt jetstar is a rip off. Unless you travel without checkin luggage you should take JetStar. If not forget about it.

Try to book 2 - 3 months in advance, then you can get return ticket at S$123.

Nowadays I also try to fly 3-4 months once, so much faster and I can still meet my friend in KL to yamcha at 11pm.

Worth it for those who goes back once a blue moon.
*
trips are quite adhoc can't plan 3-4 months in advance haha

how are you surviving?

my first job was recommended by a friend. first job is usually tougher, but so long u gain ur PR, it will be much easier to job hop in future.

u can try online job portal such as jobstreet & jobsdb. Or u can also approach recruitment agency. i found my current job in a Jap MNC from recruitment agency.

hope this helps.  biggrin.gif

were u in Big 4 or local audit firms? as from what i know, Big 4 in Spore are always in need of ppl. 2 of my friend, 1 was from PwC Msia, the other was from KPMG Msia, both joined KPMG Spore. One is an ACCA graduate from Sunway, the other is from Nilai.

u can always try to send ur resume thru their corporate website. all the best!  icon_rolleyes.gif

There's a salary cap of 4500 ie. 900 deduction. If you earn more than 4500, the maximum monthly deduction is still 900 only. There is no cap for EPF.

And you can claim a tax deduction for the whole CPF contribution (900 x 13 months = 11700) as opposed to a maximum deduction of 5000 for EPF.

*
sean, are you sure it's capped at 4500? Meaning the cpf 20% deduction is up to 900 max? does this max amount apply to the 15% employer CPF contribution?

Yup, I'm sure. It's part of the CPF legislation (you can check out their website).

And yes, it applies both ways ie. the employer's contribution is capped at a maximum eligible salary of 4500 as well.
*
this is good news smile.gif i always thought the amount is not capped. laugh.gif

First rule of asking people to recommend you for jobs in LYN,... don't be a bullshitting forum troll.

How come your 2nd class lower LLB became a diploma overnight? You're full of it.

I think everyone here would appreciate it if you'd stop trolling and posting in this thread.

My friend is trying to get into Big4...she's a graduate from Adelaide Uni, Accounting, good in doing stuff related to taxation (I guess S'pore gov will love her). Is she going to have a hard time finding a job there?

What about working for Sg gov? Is there such a rule as only PR can work for them?

hi guys, need some advice on the PR application at the lavander ICA building. Possible go there on Saturday morning? I means really in the early early morning. Will it already be very crowded? Possible still be able the get the Q ticket? No e-appointment. Thx
*
Hi... here's a step by step guide for you.. Hopefully it's useful.

General Information- You need the "Queue Ticket" to hand in your application form and supporting documents.
- There's 2 ways to obtain the Q ticket. E-appointment and on the day visit.
- It only takes less than 10 minutes to hand in your form and documents if you have everything in place.
- If you don't have all the documents in place you're screwing yourself up. You will need to visit the ICA again to hand in.
- Make sure you know what are the list of documents (photos, birthcerts, degree transcripts, etc) that you need to prepare.
- Photostate 2 copies each. Don't just take it as the documents are not required. Whether they are required or not will be based on the person evaluating your case. Means, it may differs from a person to another person. Just get ready those documents listed to avoid delays
- Most people forget these things: Letter from previous employer stating salary, nature or work and position. Photo. Degree transcript. 6 months of previous pay slips. Income tax documents.

What to do on that day: Day Visit
- If you don't have an e appointment it's alright. Not the end of the world. Go line up in the morning at 7:30 a.m. Trust me.
- When they open the doors, make your way in as quickly as possible.
- Take this route: At the entrance of the ICA building turn right quickly and look for the lift. DO NOT TAKE THE ESCALATOR. Take the lift to the 5th Floor. This is where you suppose to line up at another Queue to obtain the Q ticket for PR application. Line up ASAP and get the Q ticket.
- How fast you obtain this Q ticket dictates how long you have to wait.
- If you get this Q ticket fast enough you may leave before 10:00 a.m. However I reckon if you followed my instructions thorougly you'll probably go back at 2pm.
- The numbers doesn't come in sequence. However after awhile you'll be able to figure out how it works and roughly how long you need to wait. Rule of thumb after you've figured out the sequence, give around 20 mins for each Queue. That's how long you have to wait for each Q.

Again, remember the supporting documents. If not you'll have to go back there again.

How I know? I spent a freaking 6 hours observing what was happening at the ICA building as I'm too free and I have nothing else better to do.

I've also managed to observe how the evaluate. If you want you can PM me.

Edited:

Btw, for e appointment, go to LEvel 5 and then use the machine next to the normal Q at level 5. You most probably will be out of there by 9 a.m. smile.gif
