QUOTE(cam40729 @ Jul 29 2010, 12:37 PM) inverter type is not suitable not everyone, especially for those only use the air conditioner once in awhile. i'm installing at my own small room which is about 15 feet by 9 feet, fully enclosed all the time, switching on minimum 8 hours a day.inverter type will only function well and save electric if you use it for long hours in a closed space, means no cold air going out of your room via windows or doors by definition, i should be able to benefits from the inverter model. |

QUOTE(fx_53_xt @ Jul 29 2010, 12:24 PM) I am looking forward to install an air conditioning unit. the more shop i asked, the more confused i get. Currently i have these 3 brands in mind : Maybe the sales guy is misleading. Any brand is made in china if not all the parts. Panasonic still have aircon factory here. It depend what model it produce here. 1) Panasonic 2) Mitsubishi 3) Daikin Shop A says : Panasonic nowadays made in China, not really reliable anymore. And Panasonic inverter is not as useful as advertised, the energy saving is minimal compare to other brand's inverter. Daikin is the best, he can guarantee minimum 30% reduction on bill with daikin. Furthermore Daikin inverter model uses cheap R22 gas. Other alll use R410 which is expensive Shop B : Mitsubishi is the best, but mitsubishi parts and servicing is very expensive. The best price to performance ratio is Panasonic. Saving is depend on how you use the aircon. If I set the temperature to 16deg and full blow speed, can he guarantee me of reduction bill 30%? I m using inverter panasonic. My bill can reduce more than 40% compare to my old non inverter aircon. I ve been using for 3yrs. R22 is a ozone depleting gas. And it going to phasing out. Most of the first world country already stop using. I m suprise that it still using here when the installer told me. I thaught this gas phase out since 90's. But as usual, if go green it is expensive. Are you money consent or green consent? If the gov want phase out the gas another 2yrs, will you change the aircon after 2yrs? Inverter is the future. Slowly it will replace the normal type. inverter type will only function well and save electric if you use it for long hours in a closed space, means no cold air going out of your room via windows or doors It save your money some how no matter short or long use. Don't tell me just using for 1hr everyday. This post has been edited by ozak: Jul 29 2010, 06:05 PM |

Yup, Panasonic is even doing export here in malaysia, in fact, you are buying the brand, it really doesn't matter where it is made, many of the world branded companies have build up production lines in China, including BMW, Benz, Burberry...
iPhone is made in China, how many units have been sold in the world? well, for the use of air conditioner, it depends on personal lifestyle though, most people go to work on day time, and at night some people prefer the fresh air outside if its not hot and stuffy, especially during rainy days. |

Inverter is not automatically save electricity. It depends how is the usage. R22 is going to be obsoleted. http://www.ask.com/questions-about/r-22-Refrigerant Another Have some read http://singapore-aircon-r410a.blogspot.com/ |

i think it will take at least 5-10yrs before we start to ban these gas...
as mehlehsia will tend to do things a bit slow... it is not easy to ban the gas immediately as many shops are still keeping the old model in stock..... |

manufacturing of R22 will stop this year. as far as i know this is applicable _globally_. there will be no more _new_ R22 but the old stock will still be sold. but you should be prepared for ever rising costs of R22 since the stock will be getting more and more limited. eventually R410A should be significantly cheaper than the last remaining R22 due to market economics. and in any case an inverter aircon offers so many benefits that upgrading old models does make sense. they are cheaper under almost all conditions (not in open space AKA full load!), quiter and the parts and all are supposed to last longer.

Hi, I am planning to install a 1HP air con in my house and I prefer power saving type. However, I most probably open around 2hours then switch it off daily so inverter is a bit useless for me.
I prefer Panasonic CS-C9KKH because of the indoor unit design but I not sure whether it got power saving function. Sales guy recommend Mitsubishi as it has power saving function but I like Panasonic design better. Anyone of you know whether Panasonic got power saving function for its non-inverter model? Or perhaps there are much better brand to choose from... |

Anyone know where to get the best price for Panasonic aircond:
3 units of CS-PC9KKH (CU-PC9KKH) ~ 1.0HP 1 unit of CS-PC12KKH (CU-PC12KKH) ~ 1.5HP 1 unit of CS-PC24KKH (CU-PC24KKH) ~ 2.5HP |

Is mitsubishi aircon any good. The sales guy said it is power saving because of the motor it used. It read from the website it is the poki poki motor technology which save power once you power on it. It is not those Eco mode which reduce fan speed over a period of time to reduce power consumption. Anyone can clarify this?
