Hi, I am planning to install a 1HP air con in my house and I prefer power saving type. However, I most probably open around 2hours then switch it off daily so inverter is a bit useless for me.

I prefer Panasonic CS-C9KKH because of the indoor unit design but I not sure whether it got power saving function. Sales guy recommend Mitsubishi as it has power saving function but I like Panasonic design better.

Anyone of you know whether Panasonic got power saving function for its non-inverter model? Or perhaps there are much better brand to choose from...

Is mitsubishi aircon any good. The sales guy said it is power saving because of the motor it used. It read from the website it is the poki poki motor technology which save power once you power on it. It is not those Eco mode which reduce fan speed over a period of time to reduce power consumption. Anyone can clarify this?

If you open the inverter unit for long hours a days then it is good buy but if you open around 1-2 hours then it is not so cost saving. The gas and service is almost double than normal non-inverter

anyone can help me with this

Regarding Mitsubishi aircon
I get this from here - http://www.coolserve.com.sg/htmdocs/produc...ils.asp?id=2397

MSY-GE13VA
Category : Wall Mounted
Description : 1.5 hp Wall Mounted Unit
Is suitable for HDB :  Yes
Capacity BTU/hr : 11942
Cooling Kw : 3.50
Airflow : 12.8m³/min
Running Current : 4.70A
Dimension : 798(W) X 232(D) X 295(H)mm
Weight : 10kg
Liquid Pipe Size : 6.35mm
Gas Pipe Size : 9.52mm

in here it mention the cooling kW = 3.50 < how to count this??

if I convert it to Watt it become 3500W and it gonna use a lot of power....

anyone can help me to find the right Watt for this model...wanna calculate the EER for this model..

I'm thinking to buy SHARP AHXP13LV(1.5HP) - INVERTER & PLASMACLUSTER ION AIR CONDITIONER price = Rm1700
anyone have any comment on this model?? hear that it silent and strong...

I am using the Sharp 1HP model and it is silent when set to low and medium fan speed. If you set at max speed sure is noisy (but it just the air blowing noise). I believe all aircon set max fan speed is noisy. The Plasmacluster function is a plus for this unit. No need to buy another dedicated Ionizer.

One more thing, I like the gentle cool function where it blow the cool air on the ceiling instead straight on me. Sometimes if can be very cold if the fan keeps on blow at you. Even set to swing also will blow at you. Gentle cool sure won't hit. smile.gif

i m planning to buy new air cond after my sharp plasma leaking on internal unit . from my survey, the inventer is the new technology with gas R410A non-ozone depleting.  i m looking for HItachi or LG , and can not decide should go for inverter or non inverter. my usage is for bed room at night.  i noticed seldom people will discuss abut Hitachi, i know that Hitachi is much expensive but heard that quality is good.

I am using Sharp plasmacluster in my bedroom too. How long you has been using it? I already using it for 6 months and hope nothing happens. smile.gif

I looking to get a second unit and I will get the most basic unit either from sharp and panasonic because I don't see the explicit benefit from those plasmacluster and ionizer thing. I found the internal unit fan is louder than panasonic and vibrates a bit more too. Hitachi is pricier and nothing special about it. The latest samsung unit looks a bit like York with cheap plastic. The old version is much better. I know not many people is using sharp but one of the best feature I like about sharp is the gentle cool where is blow the air to the ceiling instead of you.
