I am looking forward to install an air conditioning unit. the more shop i asked, the more confused i get. Currently i have these 3 brands in mind :

1) Panasonic
2) Mitsubishi
3) Daikin

Shop A says : Panasonic nowadays made in China, not really reliable anymore. And Panasonic inverter is not as useful as advertised, the energy saving is minimal compare to other brand's inverter. Daikin is the best, he can guarantee minimum 30% reduction on bill with daikin. Furthermore Daikin inverter model uses cheap R22 gas. Other alll use R410 which is expensive

Shop B : Mitsubishi is the best, but mitsubishi parts and servicing is very expensive. The best price to performance ratio is Panasonic.

inverter type is not suitable not everyone, especially for those only use the air conditioner once in awhile.

inverter type will only function well and save electric if you use it for long hours in a closed space, means no cold air going out of your room via windows or doors

i'm installing at my own small room which is about 15 feet by 9 feet, fully enclosed all the time, switching on minimum 8 hours a day.
by definition, i should be able to benefits from the inverter model.

aiyoo.. not like me... the salesman said dont buy Mitsubishi Electric coz not specialist... Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is specialist for aircond... donno which one is true... end up salesman yang kaya... hahaha

i was hunting for an air conditioner and i have the same problem as you. Shop A says Mitsubishi Electric Mr. Slim is good and Shop B say mitsubishi heavy industry is good, simply because they carry those. I ended up with mitsubishi electric Mr. Slim due to :

1) 2+7 years warranty
2) My hometown air cond which my parents installed about 8 years ago was a mitsubishi, and they works great up till today without a single hiccup.

The shop offers me RM1k for 1HP including installation, cash price.

mind to share which shop you bought from? I want to get a few. Thks

gotten it from LH Equine Park. If pay using credit card they charge RM1020. 12 months installment RM1050. Very reasonable price. Another forumer Uletgotten 1HP Mitsubishi Move Eye (top of the line non-inverter) for RM1150 from LH SS2.

The sales man told me mitsubishi price dropped but one of my friend from electrical appliances industry told me it might probably due to LH overstocked the air conditioner during homedec last week (LH was the sole mitsubishi electric dealer in homedec). Either one, the price is freaking cheap now.

From which Mitsubishi company...??
I got mine RM1200+- include installation... will install it today 3.00pm for 1hp and tomorrow install 1.5hp 3D air...

Its MR. Slim series from Mitsubishi Electric.
If you gotten RM1200 for 1.5HP, that's freaking cheap. But if that's for 1HP, its quite expensive.

My room's air cond has weird sound for past few days. Just now i open up the indoor unit and found it has really crazy amount of dust.

fyi, i do regularly clean the filter once a month and do a pretty comprehensive wiping of the blower every 3 months or so, and i've never encounter this huge amount of dust. I however never cleanse the cooling fins cause the first time i try to clean them, i notice how fragile and easily i could accidentally bend them.

upon inspection, i notice moisture build up inside the unit. Heck i can see water droplet on the fins, and i guess its the moisture that attract all the dusts.

is the unit faulty? any advise?
