well, when that time you bought the water filter, everyone from the house will be borrow from you, and then you can collect montly rental usage from them and start making money.  icon_idea.gif
Well, I think Philips might be facing difficulty of global production challenge, especially the UV light, its very high costing.  ohmy.gif
Also, is not easy to have NSF/WQA Certified, the water purifier in order to sell in every countries have to re-verifiy from NSF/WQA every 5years.
Wow, that was very cheap. So you only replacing it every year?  hmm.gif
Outdoor filter are recommended to install its because it can provide clean water for entire house using but not for drinking purpose. Like you taking shower, washing or cleaning etc.  wink.gif
Now a days, having indoor (POU)point-of-use water purifier is a must for every housing, because it is for drinking or cooking purposes. Outdoor (POE)point-of-entry water filter is an optional choices but also recommended to install one if you need it/your places water are too dirty filled with dirt/sands.
So, conclusion, if you budget are afford to, get both, else get indoor water purifier first. Boiling technology is not as efficiency.  nod.gif

Wow you seem knowledgeable and very active in this thread haha. Do you sell water filters? If you do, pls PM me as I am exploring for a water filter system for my parents home.

Currently very much inclined to continue using 3M unless a better brand comes along smile.gif

yes, my main problem is to find a plumber who knows how to fix the eSpring with the faucet I bought.
The faucet only has output only. It's just like a normal tap.

Hi, have u found the solution for high water pressure issue?
I will also install a seperate faucet for my indoor filter, and wish to prevent it from damage by persistent exposure to high pressure in the piping. Does the pressure valve u mention exist? I was given a suggestion of using a pressure tank instead. Anyone has this experience to share?

Fixing an eSpring with a non-eSpring faucet is a problem if you are intending to do a undersink mounting.
The plumber had to customize the filter hose (white hose) as the diameter of the eSpring hose is a non-standard type.
I did not install the pressure valve as the plumber advise that the water pressure maybe too low after installing that.
So now I'm not too sure if in long term, there would be a leak at the hose or the eSpring bracket due to constant pressure to the eSpring.

So my advise is if you're attempting to install an undersink mounting for the eSpring, then buy the eSpring faucet. Otherwise, install it at the top on the main tap like usual.

If I were you, I would recommend you to change it at least once a month. nod.gif
Of course you won't be having any problem even thou you change it once a year, but there are a lot of harmful contaminant in the water are can't been seen by our eye. Like mercury, lead, VOCs, pesticides, etc.. Save up some money upgrade to a better NSF/WQA certified Water Purifier for a better lifestyle.

Somemore, those bacteria/viruses that trap in the filter are building their army in there. ohmy.gif But I do believe that you boiled the water before using it.

I use Aqusana the cheapest tongue.gif NSF/ANSI STANDARD 053 Certified - (Drinking Water Treatment Units - Health Effects) - water filter, I know of in Malaysia. icon_rolleyes.gif
I do not think its considered high end in relation to other NSF/ANSI STANDARD 053 Certified water filter such as Amway, Tupperware etc. blink.gif

Did a quick look at Aquasana. Rather ambiguous claims regarding the NSF certification. They submit for NSF is only up to 500 gallons but they claim they test to 1000 gallons, which means its only their own claim for the additional 500 gallons.

You could end up paying RM299 every 6 months because that's what stated in the NSF data.

On another note, I notice that a lot of outdoor filter nowadays uses carbon to remove chlorine at POE. Wouldn't this do more harm than good because the water in the house (pipe,s tank, etc) wont have chlorine to inhibit bacteria growth?

If worried about that then buy the filter from Singapore and replace your self.
http://www.h2ofresh.com/filters.htm
1 set SGD 79.00 only Approx RM198.00
2 set SGD 150.00 only Approx RM376.00
based on your conservative calculation, still cheap compared to other NSF 53 cert filter.
Coupled together with low initial cost, sure can consider.
